Good afternoon, Mr. Phelps. These two men, Emil Skarbeck and Kurt Lom, are bitter
rivals for the vacant post of chief of secret police for the Eastern European Peoples
Republic. Both are hard-liners determined to turn their country into one vast
concentration camp. Your mission, Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to
eliminate both from contention so that this third candidate, Paul Trock, who is friendly
to the West, becomes the new chief. As always, should you or any of your IM Force be
caught or killed, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This
tape will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jim.
