Chapter One: Roll's Feelings "Mayl, time to get up!" Roll.EXE cried.
Mayl jumped up to greet her Net-Navi. "Good morning, Roll!"
"I'll be ready for school in a minute!" Mayl said, rushing to get her clothes on.
Mayl got her favorite outfit on, a blue top and a pink dress, grabbed her PET and ran out the door.
Mayl hurried down the street, but had to stop to wait for the traffic. Mayl felt like she was waiting forever for the light to change, worried she'd be late for school.
"Something's wrong... We've been waiting here for 10 minutes.... Why hasn't the light changed?" Mayl asked.
"I could go check with the traffic control Navi..." Roll said.
"Great idea! Jack In, Roll, Power Up!!!!" Mayl pulled out her PET and plugged it into the traffic light.
Roll appeared in a flash into the cyber-area. She scanned around, looking for the Program Navi. But suddenly she was attacked! 25, no, 40 viruses of all kinds!! They were attacking the Program Navi, who was in charge of changing the light signals.
"Mayl! There's a ton of viruses in here!!" Roll cried.
"Then let's get rid of them!" Mayl pulled out a chip from her pocket. "M-Cannon, Battle Chip in, Download!!" she placed the chip into her PET.
A large cannon appeared on Roll's arm. "Take this!!" she fired the cannon. It took out 5 viruses, but there were still lots more!
"Mayl, I need more!" Roll cried, as the viruses began to charge after her.
"Got ya, Roll! StepCross, Battle Chip in, download!!" Mayl threw the chip in.
A sword appeared on Roll's arm. In a second, she appeared in the middle of the swarm of viruses. Her arm rapidly slashed around furiously, deleting 10 viruses.
But one virus got a shot in. It was an electrical virus. Roll was blasted backward.
"Roll! Are you OK?!?" Mayl cried.
Roll jumped back up. "Yeah, I'm all right..." she said.
Mayl sighed, relieved. "Then let's finish this! Roll Arrow, Battle Chip in, download!!" she threw in another chip.
This time a bow appeared on Roll's arm. A heart shaped tip arrow appeared. Roll aimed the arrow at the viruses. 5 more were deleted!
"Now take this!" Roll cried, placing her fingers on her mouth. "Heart Slash!!" As she pulled her hand away from her mouth, a swarm of hearts appeared. Roll threw the hearts at the attacking viruses.
BOOM! Bash!! 10 more viruses were gone.
"10 left, Mayl!" Roll cried.
"Then let's make this a good one! Air Shot, Spreader, Battle Chip in, download!!" Mayl threw in 2 chips.
2 Buster Guns appeared on Roll's arm. Roll fired both at the remaining viruses. KER-BLAMMO!! The viruses were all gone!
"We did it, Roll!!" Mayl cried, jumping up and down.
"Yeah, if only Megaman could have seen that!" Roll said.
"Heh, hee hee.... You're really over confident..." a strange voice said.
Roll spun around. A large Navi stood behind her. He looked like a gorilla, with rainbow colored objects on his shoulders.
"Who are you?" Roll asked.
"I'm called Spark Mandrill!" the Navi replied. "You destroyed my little viruses, cutie!"
Roll got angry. "Don't call me 'cutie' monkey boy!!!!!" she screamed.
"Heh.... You see, I like electrical viruses.... Because I'm a big shocker, see?" Spark Mandrill hurled a huge electric blast at Roll.
Roll was smashed to the ground, paralyzed from the electric blast. "I-I c-can't move!!!"
"ROLL!!!!!" Mayl cried.
"Say good-night, cutie!!" Spark Mandrill said, ready to blast Roll again.
Mayl felt helpless, she couldn't jack Roll out.
Suddenly, a blast hit Spark Mandrill in the arm. He lost his electric charge.
Roll looked up. A blue Net-Navi jumped in front of Roll. It was Megaman.EXE, Lan's Net-Navi.
"Megaman!!!!" Roll cried. She suddenly felt relieved.
Lan stood next to Mayl. "You ok?" he asked.
"Lan, how did you?" Mayl asked.
"I saw you on the way to school. You know me, I'm always late!" Lan said.
"You're gonna PAY for attacking Roll!!" Megaman growled.
"Awww, I was just playing with the cutie!" Spark Mandrill said.
"Then let's play, your deletion!!" Lan cried.
"Gotta get me first, blue-boy!" Spark Mandrill said.
"Vulcan, Battle Chip in, download!" Lan threw in a chip into his PET.
A gun appeared on Megaman's arm. Megaman fired a round of shots at Spark Mandrill.
The blasts just bounced off. "HA!! You think that's gonna work?" he laughed.
"Lan, we've got to try something else!" Megaman said.
"Ok then, Boomer, Battle Chip in, download!" Lan threw in another chip.
Megaman fired a boomerang at Spark Mandrill. Spark Mandrill caught the boomerang and crushed it.
"Anymore bright ideas?" Mayl groaned.
"Hey, is this the gratitude I get for saving Roll?" Lan barked at Mayl.
"They're BOTH still in trouble until you stop that thing!!" Mayl yelled back.
"That's right!!" Spark Mandrill said. "How about some juice?" Spark Mandrill hurled an energy blast at Megaman. Megaman grabbed Roll and jumped away.
Roll blushed. She felt a little weird with Megaman carrying her.
"Lan, give me an ice chip!" Megaman cried.
"An ice chip??" Lan asked, confused. Lan pulled out a Blizzard Chip, and downloaded it.
Megaman hurled the blizzard at Spark Mandrill. Spark Mandrill laughed. "This is nothing! I.... It's... Getting a little cold in here..... I-I .... ***" Spark Mandrill froze solid on the spot.
"All right! Time Bomb, Battle Chip in, download!" Lan download the next chip.
A bomb appeared in Megaman's hand. He threw the bomb at Spark Mandrill. BOOOOOMMM!!!!! It exploded, and Spark Mandrill was deleted!
"Thanks Mega." Roll said.
"You couldn't help it, Roll. You couldn't get out of the way and protect yourself. He was too strong. It's not like you could handle someone that hard or anything that tough for you to figure out...." Megaman said.
"Are you saying I'M STUPID?!? That I can't defend myself?!?!?" Roll screamed.
"No...... I...." Megaman's words fell short.
"Hrumph!! Forget it!" Roll logged out. "Mayl, let's get out of here!!"
"Something wrong, Roll?" Mayl asked.
"Nothing! Let's go!!!" Roll yelled.
"What did you do?" Lan asked Megaman.
"I didn't do anything!!!!!" Megaman cried.

Later that day, back in Mayl's house, Roll was thinking about how Megaman saved her.
"Hmm... Maybe I was a little hard on him...." she thought. "Oh, why should I care what he thinks??? But.... I can't help but.... What's with this weird feeling I get when I'm with him?"
"You ok, Roll?" Mayl asked. "It was a rough day...."
Roll seemed a little spaced out.
"Roll....." Mayl tried to get her Navi's attention, but it seemed hopeless. "ROLL!!!!!"
Roll perked up. "Hmm? What is it, Mayl?" she asked.
"You seem a little out of it... Something on your mind?" Mayl asked.
"Well..... Mayl, do you love Lan?" Roll asked.
Mayl's face turned bright red. "Unn.... What makes you ask? I love him as a friend......"
"When humans fall in love, do they just think about that person and can't get them out of their mind?" Roll asked. "And maybe get in fights and say things they don't mean?"
Mayl's face seemed to get redder and redder. "Unn.... Well... I... Umm.... Maybe..... I.. I-I wouldn't know...."
"Never mind Mayl, it was just a thought..." Roll said.
"Ok..." Mayl said. "Why did Roll ask me that?" she thought to herself.

While Mayl was asleep, Roll wandered around Net City. She stopped at the stadium, which had Net Battles all day and night now, so Navis could train even without their Operators.
"Hmm.... I wonder...." Roll thought. "Would Megaman like me better if I was stronger? I'd really show him up if I could defend myself better...."
Roll walked into the stadium. She approached the battle arena.
"This isn't a place for girls, get lost!" a Net Navi shouted.
"Grr... He's just like Megaman!!" Roll groaned.
A large Net Navi stepped up. "Awww, man... I want to train, not win easy fights!" he protested.
Roll got angrier. "I'm not an easy win!!!!!!" she shouted.
"Then prove it, Pinkie!" the Navi said.
"AND DON'T CALL ME THAT!!!!!!" Roll yelled.
"Well you can call me Tuttle, I'm a treasure hunting Navi, great battler, and puzzler!" the Net Navi said.
"Puzzler?" Roll asked, confused.
"What do you call a battle that ends before it starts, yet has not begun yet?" Tuttle asked.
Roll stood confused. "This guy's whacked..... Who's your Net Op? The Question King?"
Tuttle shook his head. "I have no Net Op. I'm a Solo Net Navi!"
"Well, you're about to see who'll win this battle!" Roll declared.
The stadium was set up that the Navis could grab Battle Chips, which were scattered around the battle field, and use it. Tuttle grabbed a Lance, and used it. Large vines appeared behind Roll. She quickly jump and snatched an Area Grab. She appeared in front of Tuttle.
"Roll Heart Slash!" cried Roll, launching her heart attack.
Tuttle was thrown back, but still stood up. "Very well, Super Vulcan!" cried Tuttle.
Roll spotted a Battle Chip by her side, and used it. It was a Guardian! As Tuttle shot out his Vulcan gun, Roll's chip made a statue appear. The shots from the Vulcan directly hit the statue. But then a large blast of thunder hit Tuttle.
"Wha... What was that??" Tuttle cried.
"She used a Guardian Chip, you should know that if you attack it, it will attack you!" explained a Navi standing in the audience.
"I don't need explanations, Russell!! I was just caught off guard!" barked Tuttle.
Roll just starred. "Apparently they know each other..." Roll muttered to herself. "This Tuttle sucks at Net Battling though..."
"OK!!!!! NOW TO GET SERIOUS!!!!!" Tuttle exclaimed.
He held out his arms. Multiple viruses appeared.
"Using Viruses!!! That's cheating!!!!" Roll cried.
"I'm making the rules here!!" Tuttle shouted. "When an opponent is caught off guard, you seize the day, by all means!!!!"
Roll didn't know what to do. She searched for another chip.
"Use this!" cried Russell, throwing a chip to Roll.
Roll looked at it. It was a Navi Recycle. "What does this do?" she asked.
"It'll create a data form of the last Net Navi you encountered! I just hope you ran into a strong one today!" Russell said.
Roll thought about it, and activated the chip. A blue light appeared in front of her. Soon it took shape, it looked like Megaman!
"Megaman!!!?? What are you doing here?" Roll cried.
Megaman didn't say anything, instead he quickly destroyed the viruses. Then he disappeared.
"Oh yeah, Russell said it would take the form of the last Navi I encountered!" Roll cried.
"Stupid Viruses..." Tuttle grumbled. "Very well, what do you get when you cross fire, water & electric?"
"You know, you're REALLY bad with riddles....." Roll groaned.
Tuttle laughed. "You get Life Sword 3!!!"
Tuttle had grabbed a Fire Blade, Aqua Blade, and Elec Blade. It was a Program Advance!! He hurled the huge sword at Roll.
Roll panicked, and tried to run. She tried on a chip. Roll looked at it. It was an Anti Sword!
"What happens in a place that forbids swords?" Roll asked Tuttle.
Tuttle looked confused. "Huh? What?"
"THIS!!!!!" Roll activated the chip. Her arm felt like a fan blowing the Life Sword 3 Program Advance back at Tuttle.
Tuttle collapsed. "Nooo... How could she beat me???"
"Because you cheated, you're inexperienced, and may I say your an utter moron?" Russell asked.
Tuttle jumped up. "You'll see!! I'll win that tournament!!!!!" Tuttle yelled as he ran off.
"Tournament?" Roll asked, confused.
"It's nothing, miss?" Russell asked.
"It's Roll...." Roll said.
"WOW!! That was soooo cool!" a female Navi that ran up to Roll cried. "I'm Perl!"
Roll smiled. "Nice to meet you!"
"Hey, Perl! I'm dedicating this battle to you!!" cried the next Navi that walked into the stadium.
"Who's that?" Roll asked.
"Oh, that's Dantz, he's my boyfriend." Perl said. "Do you have one? You're so strong, I can't see why any guy wouldn't want to be with you!"
Roll blushed. "Well.... There IS someone I like...."
"You mean he doesn't know?" Perl asked. "You should tell him, guys are dumb when it comes to that... He probably likes you, but he doesn't realize it!"
Russell grabbed Perl's arm and dragged her to the stadium. "Ok, Perl, you've said enough..... Let's go cheer your boyfriend on!"
Roll giggled. "Well, I have to get going, maybe I'll see you guys again!"
Perl & Russell nodded.
Roll ran back to her PET. It was morning all ready.
"Hey ROLL!!!!!" Mayl cried. "You didn't wake me up!!! I'm going to be late!!!!!!!!"
"Un-oh...." Roll said, she didn't realize she was gone that long.
Mayl checked her PET. "Roll, your power levels are a little low, are you OK?"
Roll didn't want Mayl to know what she did. "Ummm... It must be from the attack yesterday...."
Mayl grabbed a chip. "Well, take this just in case..." Mayl downloaded a Recover 100 Chip into her PET.
Roll felt a little better, after all she was tired after battling. "Well, we better hurry!"

Later at school, Megaman slowly walked up to Roll. "Sorry about yesterday.... I said it wrong....." he said.
Roll blushed. "Umm... I sorry too... I got a little mad, that's all...." she said.
"Friends?" Megaman asked.
"Umm... Actually.... Mega.... I-I.... I wanted.... To-to tell you something...." Roll kept stuttering.
"What is it?" Megaman asked.
"Mega.... Megaman... I.... I..... T-think..... I-I.... L...." Roll was interrupted.
"Hey, heard you two got into a fight with some evil Navi, Guts!" Gutsman, Dex's Navi cried.
"It must have been scary..." Glide, Yai's Navi said.
"Nah, we took care of him!" Megaman cried.
Suddenly, the lights in the classroom dimmed.
"What's going on?" Ms. Mari asked.
"Let's find out, Megaman!" Lan cried.
Megaman nodded.
Lan plugged his PET into the light switch. Megaman checked the light controls.
"Everything seems ok, but...." Megaman looked around. It seemed too quiet.
Then a blast came down and hit Megaman.
"What was that?" Megaman asked.
"So you're the one that took down Spark Mandrill?" a strange dark voice asked. "You don't look like much..."
"Who's that?" Lan cried.
Megaman tried to locate the source of the blasts. But the cyber-area was all dark, he couldn't see a thing.
"Show your face!!" Megaman yelled.
Megaman could hear footsteps now. Some Navi was in the shows, Megaman couldn't make it out.
"Who are you?" Megaman yelled.
"Your end!" the voice cried.

Chapter Two: The 8 Navis of Darkness Megaman could make out a purple armadillo like Navi. His back was covered with metal plates.
"I'm called Armored Armadillo! I'm one of the 8 Navis of Darkness from the UnderNet!" the Navi declared. "You defeated one of ours, Spark Mandrill!"
"So that's what that Navi was!" Lan cried.
"Well then, I'll delete you like the other one!" Megaman cried, firing his MegaBuster.
But the blasts bounced off.
"You defeated Mandrill with that PEA SHOOTER???" Armored Armadillo asked.
"LAN!!!!" Megaman cried.
"Got ya covered! Sword, Wide Sword, & Long Sword Battle Chips in!" Lan threw in 3 chips.
The 3 combined caused a huge sword to appear in Megaman's hand. "Life Sword!!" Megaman cried.
Megaman hurled the sword at Armored Armadillo. But Armored Armadillo curled up like a ball. The Program Advance bounced off of Armored Armadillo!!
"That's your best shot?" Armored Armadillo asked. He rolled right into Megaman. Megaman smashed into the ground.
"Ok, let's try 3 Speaders!!" Lan cried. He threw in 3 chips.
2 large gun appeared on Megaman's hand. "Hyper Burst!" Megaman cried as he fired.
Again, Armored Armadillo took no damage. "You know, your aim sucks....."
Megaman got angry. "Lan, SOMETHING has to be able to break his defense!!"
"Then let's try a Style Change, Elec Team Style!!" Lan pressed a button on his PET.
In a flash of yellow light, Megaman's body changed. He was now yellow and brown, and his Navi Symbol was green instead of red.
"Mayl, let's plug Roll in to help!" Lan said.
"Ok, Lan!" Mayl cried, plugging in a cord into her PET.
"Extension Chip, Roll, connect!!" Lan cried.
Megaman felt a pink light surround him. His Navi Symbol changed to a heart, Roll's Symbol.
"Electric Aqua Tower!!" cried Megaman, punching his fist to the ground.
A large tower of water, surrounded with electricity appeared. It slammed into Armored Armadillo. The metal plates that surrounded Armored Armadillo's back blew off.
"He's weak against electric!!" Lan cried. "Go for it, Megaman!"
"Electric Heart!!" cried Megaman, hurling a electric-charged heart from his Navi Symbol.
It smashed into Armored Armadillo, and he was deleted.
"You did it, Megaman!!" Lan cried.
But it wasn't over yet. A green blast hit Megaman. It caused his Style Change to break apart.
"What was that?" Megaman asked.
"Heh hee hee!!" a voice giggled.
Megaman looked around. "I'm getting sick and tired of this.... SHOW YOURSELF!!!!!!"
"That will be when we meet again, Megaman!!" the voice cried.
Megaman could swear it was close by, but he couldn't see anything.
Then lights in the classroom returned to normal.
"I think he's gone... Jack Out, Megaman." Lan said as he unplugged his PET.
Megaman returned to the PET. "That was weird.... Who are these 8 Navis of Darkness?"
"I don't know...." Lan said. "Maybe I'll talk to dad later about it..."
Roll appeared in Megaman's PET. "Are you ok, Mega?" she asked.
Megaman nodded. "Yeah, I'm all right... Thanks to your help..."
Roll blushed. "Mega, about before.... I..... I-I...... Lo......"
Megaman interrupted her. "See, you're not stupid, you added your power to the Elec Team Style, you weren't in the way then..... URK!!!!" Megaman realized what he said.
"SO THAT'S WHAT YOU THINK OF ME?!?!? I GET IN THE WAY?!? I'M WEAK?!? ALL I'M GOOD FOR IS TO ADD TO YOUR POWER!!?!?!??" Roll screamed.
"No.... I didn't mean that..... I...." Megaman tried to talk, but Roll wouldn't let him.
"DON'T TALK TO ME EVER AGAIN!!!!!!" Roll screamed as she left.
"Oh boy..... Me & my BIG MOUTH........" Megaman groaned.

That night, back in the stadium, Roll was crying.
"Hey Roll, what's wrong?" Perl asked.
Roll looked up. "Oh, hi..... It's nothing...."
"Doesn't look like nothing....." Perl said. "Did that guy you like say something mean??"
"Megaman? .... He's just a great big JERK!!" Roll said.
"They say you hurt the one you love..." Dantz said.
"Yeah right, that's why she's crying!!" Perl said. "He's sounds like bozo!!!"
"He probably didn't mean it..." Dantz said. "You should hear him out, whatever he said..."
Roll nodded, and dried her tears. "You're right....."
"Hey, how about another match in the stadium?" Dantz asked. "It'll get your mind off of things..."
Roll smiled. "I like that idea... Let's go!"
Roll looked around. "Where's that Russell guy?" she asked.
"Don't know...." Perl said. "He just kinda shows up here and there..."
"But he's been here every day...." Dantz said. "I wonder where he is?"
"Oh, well, never mind that...." Roll said. "Let's go have a quick Net Battle!"
But suddenly, a small door appeared in the stadium.
"What's that?" Perl asked.
"I think that's a Remo Gate..." Dantz said. "But what's it doing here?"
The Remo Gate opened. A huge gust of wind kicked up. It was sucking them in!!!
"Whoa!!! It's trying to pull us in!!!" Roll cried.
"Grab hold to something!!!" Dantz yelled, grabbed Perl's arm.
"Yo-yo!" Perl cried, activating a Yo-yo Battle Chip.
She fired the yo-yo at a pole. The yo-yo wrapped around. Perl held on tight to the string attached, while holding onto Dantz. But she couldn't reach Roll.
Roll tried to get a hold of something, but there was nothing to grab!!
"ROLL!!!" Perl cried.
Roll disappeared into the Remo Gate, and the gate disappeared as well!
The wind stopped, and Perl & Dantz fell to the ground.
"What just happened?" Dantz asked.
"I don't know..." Perl said. "But whoever did that, just kidnapped Roll!!!"

Chapter Three: The Search for Roll The next morning.....
"LAN!!!!" Mayl screamed, running up to Lan.
Lan was standing outside his house. "What's wrong Mayl?"
"It's Roll!!" Mayl cried. "She's gone!!!!!"
Mayl showed Lan her PET. The screen read: Navi Missing.
"Where is she?" Lan asked. "It's not like her to run off...."
"I don't know!" Mayl cried. "I'm so worried!!"
Megaman sighed. "It's my fault... I made her mad yesterday..."
Lan shook his head. "Maybe, but she still won't run from Mayl. She'd just ignore you."
"What can we do, Lan?" Mayl asked.
"Well... I'll contact Dex & Yai. They'll help us look for Roll, ok Mayl?" Lan asked.
"Thanks Lan..." Mayl said.

Megaman, Gutsman, & Glide searched all over Net City. There was no trace of Roll.
"Guts.... Where Roll go?" Gutsman asked.
"This is strange... Roll's not the type to run away..." Glide said.
Megaman looked depressed.
"Cheer up, we'll find her!" Glide said.
Suddenly, Megaman saw a Navi rush quickly through the net. It looked like a red Navi with long white hair.
"What's he doing here?" Megaman asked himself.
Megaman ran to the red Navi, to see if his suspicion was right. He was, it was Protoman, Chaud's Navi.
"What are you doing here, Chaud?" Lan asked, through the PET.
"Official business, Lan. Which is NOT your business.... And I DON'T need your help!!" Chaud said.
Lan growled. "I WOULDN'T HELP YOU IF YOU BEGGED ME TO!!!"
"Lan.... We've got more trouble to think of right now..." Megaman groaned.
"Like what?" Protoman asked.
"Roll's missing..." Megaman explained. "We think someone kidnapped her..."
"Hmm... I wonder if that could have anything to do with..." Protoman thought out loud.
Chaud shook his head. "It can't... She's NOT a Solo-Navi, Protoman..."
"What are you 2 talking about?" Lan asked.
"Protoman & I are researching about an event that's going in the Under Net..." Chaud explained.
"Event? Like a tournament?" Megaman asked.
"Kinda... A bunch of strong Solo-Navis are gathering together...." Protoman said.
"And some have been seen training at Net City." Chaud said.
"Maybe there's something at the Net Stadium!" Megaman cried.
"It's our only chance!" Lan cried.
"I'll come with..." Chaud said. "In case there is any clues..."

At the Stadium, Megaman and the others searched all over.
Perl & Dantz showed up.
"Hey, what's going on?" Perl asked.
"Get outta here..." Protoman said. "This is Official Net Business, so the stadium's closed."
"Protoman, we COULD ask them if they've seen anything..." Megaman said.
"Normal Navis don't see those kind of things, Megaman..." Protoman said.
"Did you say Megaman???" Perl cried.
Megaman jumped down to Perl. "Yeah, that's me..."
Perl slapped Megaman.
"What was that for??" Megaman asked.
"You jerk!!" Perl yelled. "It's because of YOU she's gone!!!!!"
"Perl.... Come on...." Dantz said.
"What is she talking about?" Megaman asked.
"Roll was here crying because you acted like such a jerk to her!!" Perl screamed. "And now she's been kidnapped!!"
Megaman lit up. "Roll was here??? Where is she?!?!? Tell me!!!!!!!!"
Megaman grabbed Perl and was shaking her like crazy.
"Whoa..." Dantz said, pulling Perl away. "Roll WAS here last night. Then some strange Remo Gate appeared, and it sucked her in!"
"A Remo Gate?" Protoman asked.
"Then it was my fault she's gone....." Megaman sobbed. "I-I.... I didn't mean what I said..... I tried to talk to her, but she just got angry and ran off..."
"Hey, we all say stupid things sometimes..." Dantz said. "Don't beat yourself up over it..."
"But she's gone now because of ME!!" Megaman cried. "If I hadn't made her so mad, she wouldn't have been here!!"
Dantz & Perl starred at each other.
Suddenly, another Remo Gate appeared.
"There! That's it!!" Dantz cried.
Megaman started firing his MegaBuster at it. "Give back Roll!!!!!"
"That won't work..." Protoman grumbled. "Dummy...."
But the Remo Gate opened! Roll came falling out. Megaman caught her.
"Roll! Roll! Say something!!" Megaman cried.
The Remo Gate disappeared.
"That was strange..." Chaud said.
"There's something about this I DON'T like..." Protoman said.
Roll slowly opened her eyes. "Where am I?"
"Roll!!" Megaman cried. "You're ok....."
"Huh? Oh, ummm.... Megaman.... You saved me?" Roll asked. "I'm so glad!"
Megaman felt a little strange. There was something.... Different about Roll... But he couldn't place it...
"You're not mad?" Megaman asked.
"Why would I be mad?" Roll asked. "C'mon, let's get outta here!"
Roll logged out into Lan's PET.
"Roll? What are you doing here?" Lan asked.
"Huh? Oppsss! Wrong PET!!" Roll said, and she transferred to Mayl's PET.
"That was weird...." Protoman said.
"She didn't even say anything to us..." Perl said.
"She's probably a little confused after being in that Remo Gate..." Dantz said.
"I guess..." Megaman said.
"You don't look so happy..." Perl said.
"Huh?? No, I'm fine!" Megaman said. "I'm glad Roll's back!!"
Megaman logged out in Lan's PET.
"Well, at least we got Roll back!" Lan said.
Mayl hugged Lan. "Thank you Lan!!!!"
"OK! OK! Don't hug me like that!!" Lan screamed. "It's embarrassing!!!
Mayl giggled.

The next day, Mayl woke up and looked at the clock. It was 11:00 AM!!!!!
"ROLL!!!!!!!!! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP!!?!?!?!?!?" Mayl screamed, trying to get her clothes on.
"Huh? Wake you up?" Roll asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to be late for school!!!" Mayl cried.
"I've gotta wake you up??" Roll muttered. "What kinda stupid...."
Mayl snatched her PET and ran out the door. She bashed into Lan.
"Huh? Mayl?" Lan asked.
"What are you doing here?" Mayl asked.
"I couldn't get Lan up this morning..." Megaman explained. "He was Net Battling with Dex ALL NIGHT!!"
"But it's not like you to be late..." Lan said.
"Roll didn't wake me up!" Mayl cried.
"I-I forgot!" Roll said.
"Forgot? How could she..." Megaman said.
Lan and Mayl dashed off to school.
They finally got there, but the school gate wouldn't open.
"Oh great! Now what?" Mayl asked.
"We could Jack In and check it out!" Lan said.
"Right! Jack In, Roll, Power Up!" Mayl cried, plugging in her PET.
"Let's go, Megaman! Jack In, Power Up!!" Lan plugged in his PET.
Megaman & Roll appeared in the Cyber-World. There were a bunch of viruses!!"
"Well, let's get rid of them!!" Megaman cried. "MegaBuster!!"
"Well at least THIS is something I can do..." Roll muttered to herself. "But what kind of weapons do I have?"
"Hey Roll, watch out!!" Megaman cried.
A virus smashed into Roll.
"That was a BIG mistake!!" Roll growled. She punched the virus, but it attacked again.
"HEY MAYL!!! GIVE ME SOMETHING, WILL YA???" Roll snarled.
Mayl jumped. "Roll's NEVER done that before!!" she cried.
"Roll, take it easy!" Megaman said.
"YOU TAKE IT EASY!!!!" Roll snapped at Megaman. "Can I help it if she won't hurry up and give me something?"
"Something's wrong here..." Lan said.
Suddenly, a large gust of wind started pulling Roll & Megaman towards the viruses! Then some strange boomerangs attacked them.
"GRRR..... NOW WHAT???!?!?" Roll growled.
Two large Navis showed them selves. One was purple, and looked like a bird, and the other was red, and had an upside-down boomerang on his head.
"I'm Storm Eagle!" the Bird Navi said.
"And I'm Boomer Kuwanger!" the Red Navi said.
"We're of the 8 Navis of Darkness!" they both said.
"Not more of these idiots...." Megaman groaned.
"Who the heck are these bozos??" Roll asked.
"Roll... We already battled 2 of them, remember?" Megaman asked.
"Oh yeah!! I just forgot!!" Roll said.
"You've forgotten a lot, haven't you?" Megaman asked.
Roll glared at Megaman. "You got a problem?"
"Hey, let's just delete them and get this over with!" Boomer Kuwanger said.
"Yeah, while they're busy fighting each other!!" Storm Eagle laughed.
Storm Eagle & Boomer Kuwanger aimed their attacks at Roll & Megaman.
"Megaman! Watch out!!" Lan cried.
But it was too late, they were hit bad!
"One more should do....." Storm Eagle said.
"You won't get one more..." a strange voice said.
"Huh?? Who is that?" Boomer Kuwanger asked.
SLASH! As quick as a flash, a sword sliced up Storm Eagle & Boomer Kuwanger. Both were deleted.
"Protoman!" Megaman cried.
Protoman jumped over to Megaman. "So you've run into the 8 Navis of Darkness, huh?"
"You know about them?" Lan asked.
"Yes. They're the ones we've been tracking." Chaud said.
"They seem to work for the Under King..." Protoman said.
"The Under King?" Megaman asked.
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!!!!!!!" Roll screamed.
Megaman & Protoman turned to Roll.
"How do you know, Roll?" Protoman asked.
"Roll, you've been acting ODD since that Remo Gate..." Megaman said.
Roll gulped. "I-I... I ummm...."
"The only explanation is....." Protoman said. "That you're NOT Roll!!"
"Protoman's right!!" Mayl cried. "Roll would never act like this!!"
"Who are you? And where is the real Roll???" Megaman growled.
Protoman held up his sword at Roll. "You're one of the 8 Navis of Darkness, aren't you?"
"NO!!!!!" Roll screamed. "I would NEVER betray the Lord of the Under Net... EEKKK!!!"
"Lord of the Under Net???" Megaman asked.
"Does HE have Roll?" Protoman asked.
Roll laughed. "He.... Does HE have her?? ... Heh heh heh... I guess I don't have to worry so much. You morons don't know ANYTHING!!"
"Where is Roll?!?" Megaman yelled.
"You're girlfriend's safe, for NOW!!" Roll cried. "Oh, and you can call me Copyman!"
"Copyman?" Lan asked.
"Gateman!! Open the Remo Gate!!" Copyman yelled.
"Gateman???" Megaman cried.
"Wasn't he Mr. Famous' Navi???" Lan asked.
The Remo Gate appeared. Copyman jumped inside.
"If you know any better, you'll just forget about Roll!" Copyman said. "You'll be safer that way!!"
The Remo Gate disappeared.
"Who the heck..." Chaud was even puzzled.
"Roll..." Megaman sobbed. "I have to save her!!"
"Chaud sir, what do we do now?" Protoman asked.
"I think we need to question someone..." Chaud said.
"I agree... Let's meet up at Sci Lab, Chaud!" Lan said.

Chapter Four: The Lord of the Under Net Little did Megaman know that the real Roll is deep, down in the darkest place in the net...
(Note: These events go on during the time Copyman replaced Roll...)
Roll slowly opened her eyes. "Where am I?"
She saw a tall, orange Navi stand in front of her.
"You're FINALLY awake?" the Navi growled.
Roll jumped. "W-Who... Who are you??"
"I am Gateman..." the Navi said. "I protect the gates to the Under Net..."
"What do you want with me??" Roll asked.
"The Lord of the Under Net wishes to see you...." Gateman explained.
"Lord of the Under Net?? Is that where I am, the Under Net?" Roll asked.
"Come with me..." Gateman said.
Roll followed Gateman through the scary dark Cyber World. Roll could barely see Gateman, it was so dark.
"Haven't you guys ever though of some light down here?" Roll asked.
"We like it dark." Gateman replied. "That way we can get the surprise attack on our enemies..."
"No wonder all the Dark Loids & WWW Members hang around here..." Roll muttered.
"DON'T CONFUSE US WITH THAT SCUM!!!" Gateman yelled.
"You guys call them scum??" Roll asked.
"They've given the Under Net a bad name..." Gateman said. "S has tried hard to maintain things down here..."
"S? Who's S?" Roll asked.
"YOU ARE TO CALL S THE UNDER KING, OR LORD OF THE UNDER NET, UNDERSTAND?!?!?" Gateman screamed. "Unless S deems you worthy, you address S are the Lord of the Under Net!!"
"How was I supposed to know??" Roll asked. "This S guy sure sounds serious...."
"AND DON'T SAY S GUY!!!!!!" Gateman yelled.
"Are you going to jump at everything I say??" Roll asked.
"Young Navis should be SEEN and NOT HEARD!!" Gateman grumbled.
Finally, they reached a large temple looking place.
"Kinda fancy..." Roll said.
Gateman glared at Roll, looking ready to scream again.
"I know... I know.... 'What do you expect for the Under King' right?" Roll asked.
Gateman didn't say anything, instead he kept walking.
A female Navi stood inside the temple. She was orange and brown, and there were clear orange things on her back.
"Lord S, I've brought the one you asked for..." Gateman said.
"Very good, Gateman..." S said.
"She's S???" Roll cried. "The Under King, Lord of the Under Net.... Is a GIRL?!?!?!"
"SHE'S THE LORD OF THE OF UNDER NET!!!!!!!!!" Gateman screamed at Roll.
"She's STILL a GIRL!!!" Roll yelled back.
S laughed. "You can call me Serenade, Roll..."
"How do you know my name?" Roll asked.
"I've been watching you..." Serenade said. "You're friends with Megaman, right?"
Roll grumbled. "I don't know about that.... But I do know him...."
"Anyway, we're holding the Under Net Tournament right now." Serenade said. "The winner becomes a Ranked Navi..."
"Ranked Navi?" Roll asked, confused.
"Ranked Navis serve under S." Gateman explained. "There are 10 in total..."
"Yes, but my Rank #1 was deleted..." Serenade explained. "So we must hold the tournament to assign a new one..."
"How do I fit in this?" Roll asked.
"Serenade needs a reliable new Rank Navi, because of what happened." a Navi was standing in the dark said.
"Who's that?" Roll asked.
"The one that I sent out to find a strong Navi I could trust. You've already met." Serenade said.
The Navi stepped out. It was Russell!!"
"Russell?? You work for Serenade?" Roll asked. "So that's what Tuttle was talking about!!"
"That's right, Roll..." Russell said. "I was watching the stadium for a really powerful Navi, and then you showed up. Your potential can really help us..."
"But why me, and not Megaman?" Roll asked.
"Megaman is far too well known..." Serenade explained. "The Under Net tournament is only open to Solo-Navis... They know both Megaman & Protoman as ones who deleted followers of WWW & Nebula..."
"So you needed a Navi not well known?" Roll asked. "What happens if a Navi becomes a Rank Navi?"
"If they reach Rank #1, they can access Secret..." Serenade explained. "Which is the deepest part of the Net. In fact, it is believed it is where the Net started. A Navi could destroy the Net if they wanted...."
"So that's why you need help..." Roll said.
"As it is, my real body is in Secret...." Serenade said. "This is only a copy. My upload takes too long, so I'm only at 1/4 of my true power."
"You're the protector of the entire Net??" Roll asked.
"That's right Roll!" Russell said.
"Wow, everyone been wrong about the Under Net... You're NOT all evil!" Roll cried.
"Roll, the Rank #1 was deleted by an evil Navi." Russell explained.
"An evil Navi?" Roll asked.
"He's completely infected by Dark Chips, and he's become a virus..." Serenade said.
"He's even infected other members of the Under Net..." Gateman said.
"We can't have one of his followers win the Under Net tournament!" Serenade said. "He wishes for the destruction of the Net!"
Roll was shocked. She tried to think this all over. But what if she wasn't strong enough? But she couldn't let the Net be destroyed!
"I'll do it, Serenade!!" Roll cried. "I'll become Rank #1, I swear!!"
Serenade smiled. "Thank you, Roll..."
"I know you'll do well!" Russell said.
"If S believes in you, then I will..." Gateman said.
"Roll, take this!" Serenade held out her arms. A large sword appeared. "This is the Muramasa Sword... This secrete blade will protect you...."
Roll grabbed the sword. The sword's case appeared on her side. "You mean I use this sword whenever?"
"Unlike in the surface Net, the Under Net doesn't have Battle Chips available all the time..." Serenade explained. "You will have Battle Chips in the first rounds, but later the competition tests your true strength... The Muramasa will always be at your side when battles are rough..."
"But the Muramasa Sword's power is only it's strongest when you are nearly deleted..." Russell explained.
"So its power is by how much you're hurt?" Roll asked.
Serenade nodded. "That's why it's a dangerous blade, even to its user.... Use it wisely, Roll..."
Roll nodded. "I will Serenade..."
"Remember Roll, you can't let anyone know that you're not a Solo-Navi." Serenade said. "Never tell anyone you know Megaman, it could cause trouble..."
"I'll be careful..." Roll said.
Russell lead Roll out to the Under Stadium.
"The first battle in the stadium will come after the Elimination Round…" Russell said.
"What's that?" Roll asked.
"All the competitors will be split into groups of 10, only 1 will proceed in each group..." Russell explained.
"So 10 Navis fight all at once? Yikes... No wonder Serenade gave me this sword..." Roll gulped.
"Ah, here's Rank #5 to take you to the Waiting Area..." Russell said.
A tall, red Navi with long blonde hair stepped up to Roll. Roll knew him.
"Zero!!" Roll cried. "I haven't seen you in a long time!!"
"Serenade offered me to become one of the Ranked Navis." Zero explained. "Roll, come with me."
Roll followed Zero into a large area filled with Navis. Zero handed Roll some Battle Chips.
"Navis here have to supply their own weapons in some rounds..." Zero said. "Keep those on you for then. In some rounds, you'll be supplied chips."
Roll nodded. "Thanks Zero."
"Ok, I have to make sure everything's ready for the Elimination Round, will you be ok here?" Zero asked.
"Sure thing, see ya Zero!" Roll said.
Zero walked off to a huge statue in the area. Roll had no idea what it was, and decided it wasn't her business to bother Zero.
Roll wandered around the Waiting area. She bumped into a purple Navi with a large cannon on his shoulder.
"Ooppss... Sorry..." Roll apologized.
"You DARE to get in my way, puny Navi??!!?" the purple Navi growled. "I'll teach you a lesson!!"
He aimed his cannon at Roll. Roll barely jumped away from the blast.
"HEY! I said I was sorry!!" Roll screamed.
"And it will be your last!! Don't play in the Under Net, kid!!" the purple Navi was ready to fire again.
But a green sword was thrown into the cannon. A pink female Navi with green hair appeared in front of Roll.
"You ok?" The pink Navi asked Roll.
"Thanks, whoever you are!" Roll said.
"Name's Marino." the pink Navi said. She turned to the purple Navi. "I don't know WHO you are, but you're getting on my nerves... Save your fighting strength for the area!"
"Very well..." the purple Navi said. He turned and started to walk away. "And the name is Vile, don't forget it!"
"This is going to be tougher than I thought...." Roll thought. "How can I possibly win this?" Chapter Five: Rule #1: Survival! Marino stayed with Roll. "So, you new here or something?" Marino asked.
"Unn... Yeah, you could say so..." Roll said.
"Just never seen you around these parts before." Marino said. "I'm a thief Navi, I steal data for a living."
"A thief??" Roll repeated in shock.
"Don't worry, I only steal what I think I can get a good amount of Zenny for!" Marino said. "But I can take care of myself, I'll watch over ya. But don't expect me to go easy on you in the tournament!"
"Hey Marino, is that your little sister?" a female Navi with short blonde hair teased.
Marino shook her head. "Hi Mary, and no, you should know better than that. This is Roll, some jerk Navi was picking on her."
"I never knew there were so many strong female Navis!" Roll cried.
"Yeah, the males always think we're weak, so Marino & I joined to prove 'em wrong." Mary said.
"Yeah, I know someone like that..." Roll grumbled.
"Ah, so that's why you joined!" Marino said. "Your boyfriend thinks you can't take care of yourself, right?"
"He thinks he's SO much stronger than me...." Roll growled. "He thinks I get in his way! Well I'll show HIM!!!!"
"That's the sprit!" Marino said. "And when you do great, you'll show him that you don't need him!"
"And then maybe he'll think different about me?" Roll asked.
"I'm sure of it!" Mary said. "In fact, that's why Marino's here. To impress a guy she likes..."
Marino tried to keep Mary quiet. "You BIG MOUTH!!"
Roll giggled. "I guess I'm not the only one...."
Marino blushed. "We all have our reasons..."
"So what type of Navi are you, Mary?" Roll asked.
"Me? I'm a pirate." Mary said. "Marino & I are partners."
"Actually, our navigator should be around here..." Marino said.
"She's probably tripping over her....." Mary's words fell short.
A large crash could be overheard in the coward. Mary, Marino & Roll ran to the source. A female Navi covered in wires was on the ground.
"Teal?? What kind of mess did you get in?" Marino asked.
"Marino!! Sorry, you know how I mess up my data all the time..." Teal said.
"Why is she covered in wires?" Roll asked.
"She can plug into ANY data source in the Net. She's our hacker!" Mary explained.
"Wow, kinda like my antennas..." Roll said, pointing to the yellow antennas on her head.
"Actually all 3 of us are sisters." Marino explained. "We were all created from the same data."
"Wow, that's cool." Roll said.
A blue female Navi that looked like a nurse walked up to Teal. "My name is Cinnamon, Nurse Navi for the Under Tournament... I'll help you out of this mess..."
Cinnamon helped untangle Teal from the wires.
"You're a Nurse Navi?" Roll asked.
"Yes. I'll heal all of you between battles in the tournament. Lord S wishes you all good luck." Cinnamon said.
"Attention all participants!" a female Navi with pink hair called out. "I am Nana. I'll assign you to your group for the Elimination Round! All Navis will be chosen at random. After this round, I'll tell you which battle you will proceed into."
"Everyone, stand in the center of the area!" Russell called out.
Everyone banned together, waiting for the next move.
"Hope to see you the rest of the tourney!" Marino winked at Roll.
"Don't go and get yourself deleted!" Mary said.
Teal stood off in the corner with Cinnamon.
"Teal's not battling?" Roll asked.
"Teal doesn't fight, she just manages data and tells us how to get in places, disarms security, and finds out what's valuable!" Marino explained.
"She couldn't win a fight with a Mettuar..." Mary groaned.
The center of the area lit up. All the Navis seemed to float in the air.
"What's happening?" Roll cried.
In a flash, Roll was in another area. It was all dark, Roll couldn't see a thing.
"Marino? Mary? ..... Where am I?" Roll scanned the room.
It seemed like nothing was there. Then suddenly, a green blast smacked Roll down.
"Who's there?" Roll asked.
"Hee hee hee!!" a voice giggled.
Then Roll saw something else. 8 purple evil-looking Navis ready to attack.
"So who wants to go first?" one said.
"I want the cutie!" another said.
"Let's all fight each other, and the last one standing gets the cute one!" another one said.
"They're fighting about who gets to fight me?" Roll asked.
Then she realized something. "There's only 8 of them.... With me that's 9.... But Russell said that we'd be in groups of 10...." she thought.
Another green blast smashed into the 8 Navis. They were all deleted.
"Those bozos were easy..." the same voice Roll heard before say. "Child's play for 1 of the 8 Navis of Darkness!"
"Not them again!" Roll cried.
A green chameleon Navi appeared. "The name's Sting Chameleon, cutie!"
"DON'T CALL ME CUTIE!!!" Roll screamed.
"This will be over in a second!!" Sting Chameleon cried.
Sting Chameleon's body disappeared. Roll couldn't see him anywhere.
"Great! He is like a chameleon!! Show yourself!!" Roll demanded.
Green blasts fired from a corner. Roll was hit multiple times.
"How can I fight something I can't see?" Roll asked.
Then Roll remembered. "The Battle Chips Zero gave me!!"
Roll quickly went through the chips. She used a Zeus Hammer. The large hammer appeared in her hand, and Roll slammed it down. The entire room shook, Roll could barely keep on her feet. The shock caused Sting Chameleon to reappear.
"Roll Arrow!!" Roll cried, as her hand turned into a bow-and-arrow. She fired the heart-shaped arrow at Sting Chameleon.
But then Roll felt very weak, she almost collapsed. "What's happening to me?" she asked.
"You idiot!!" Sting Chameleon yelled. "Didn't you know that the Zeus Hammer causes damage to its user as well?"
Sting Chameleon launched his tongue out. It was so long, it wrapped around Roll. Sting Chameleon whipped Roll around the room, smashing her into the walls.
"What do I do???" Roll panicked. "I can't get loose!! And my health is dropping....... WAIT!!! The Muramasa Sword!!"
Roll gathered the rest of her strength and pulled out the sword. She cut herself free, and attacked Sting Chameleon.
"What?? How can you attack so powerfully when you're almost deleted???!?" Sting Chameleon cried.
Roll sliced Sting Chameleon in half. Sting Chameleon's body broke apart, he was deleted.
Roll starred at the sword. "So that's the power of the Muramasa Sword...."
Suddenly, Roll's body was surrounded by white light.
"What's going on now???" she cried.
In a flash, she appeared back in the Waiting Area. Marino, Mary, Teal, Russell & Zero stood in front of her.
"You did it!! You came back alive!!" Teal cried.
"I knew she could make it..." Marino said.
"Yeah right, that's why you were pacing the floor..." Mary remarked.
"You made through the first part Roll..." Russell said.
"But it's going to get much tougher from here on..." Zero said.
Roll nodded. "I'm ready..."
Cinnamon walked up to Roll. "Let me heal you, you must be wore out from that..." Cinnamon's hands lit up.
Roll felt a warm light surround her. Her pain and damage from the battle wore away. Roll felt like new.
"WOW!! How did you do that?" Roll asked.
"Cinnamon was created from Recovery Chips." Russell explained.
"Whenever you feel bad, come to me!" Cinnamon said.
"Well I see you ladies made it..." a black Navi standing in a corner said.
"Spider?!?" Marino cried, blushing.
"What's that CREEP doing here?" Mary groaned.
"Still a stick in the mud, I see..." Spider said. "Mary, when are you ever going to give me a break?"
"I'll give you a break...." Mary said. "I'll break your NECK!"
"Save it for the tournament, will you?" Russell asked.
"Hey, who's the new girl?" Spider asked.
"I'm Roll...." Roll said.
"If you ever need anything, I'm your guy..." Spider said. "A cute little girl like you shouldn't be in dangerous place like this..."
"AHEM!!" Marino growled. "How come you never say that about ME???"
Spider jumped. "Well, your personality should be enough to protect you... But I told you before this would be way too much for you. But as always, you're in over your head..." Spider said.
"GO BACK TO THE ROCK YOU CRAWLED OUT FROM!!!!!" Marino screamed.
"Sure thing.... See ya around the tourney, girls!" Spider winked. He threw a playing card to Roll.
Roll looked at it. It was the Ace of Hearts. Roll showed it to Mary. "What's this mean?"
"He thinks you're cute...." Mary explained. "Spider uses cards in his attacks. He also uses them as a code..."
Marino just looked angry.
"What's with her?" Zero asked.
"Let me guess.... Is that the guy she likes?" Roll asked.
"Yeah.... How did you figure that out?" Mary asked.
"Oh, because I tend to blow up at Meg...." Roll caught herself. "... T-The guy I kinda like...."
Zero & Russell sighed, they were worried Roll almost gave herself away. Roll couldn't tell anyone she knows Megaman, or they might figure out that she's not a Solo-Navi.
"Well, Marino's got it BAD for Spider...." Mary said. "I just hope he's not the weasel I think he is..."
Roll giggled. Then she started thinking about Megaman. "I wonder if he is worried about me.... I hope Mayl's ok..." she thought to herself.
"Well, you all should get some rest..." Zero said. "Tomorrow is Round One, you'll want to be in full power then..."
"Later Roll, Marino & I gotta practice a bit." Mary said. "C'mon, Marino!"
"Huh?? Oh, I'm coming!" Marino said.
"Nice meeting you, Roll." Teal said.
The 3 friends ran off. Roll stood with Zero & Russell. Gateman walked up to them.
"Oh, so you made it?" Gateman asked.
"What? You expected me not to?" Roll growled.
"Well I......." Gateman's words fell short. He had a strange expression on his face. "?? What?? .... Why? .... What do you mean?? .... YOU WHAT???? Argh, come back then!!!"
Gateman held out his arms. A Remo Gate appeared. The gate opened, and Copyman fell out. Copyman crashed to the ground.
"OUCH!! Can't you make that a softer landing??" Copyman growled.
"You BLEW your cover???" Gateman screamed.
Roll stood shocked. "Why does that Navi look like me???" she asked.
"This is Copyman, Rank #3...." Russell explained. "We sent him to replace you so Megaman wouldn't come looking for you and possibly blow your secret...."
"BUT HE SCREWED UP!!!!!!!!!" Gateman yelled at Copyman.
"Well, EXCUSE ME!!!!!!" Copyman yelled. "They were going to delete me!"
"Megaman WAS worried about me!!" Roll cried.
"Girl, how do you live with those bozos?" Copyman asked.
"How is it that you can change your shape?" Roll asked.
"I was created out of Temp Data." Copyman explained. "I have no natural form. I can only copy forms of other Navis."
"So now what??" Gateman asked. "Now everyone could find out Roll's not at Solo-Navi...."
"We've got bigger problems..." Copyman said. "I need to see Lord S, NOW!"
They all went to Serenade. Serenade smiled at Roll.
"Oh good, you made it past the Elimination Round...." Serenade said. "..... Copyman, what are you doing here?"
"He blew his cover..." Zero explained.
"Oh shut up!!" Copyman yelled. "Lord S, we have trouble.... There are these Navis calling themselves the 8 Navis of Darkness.... They claim to be from the Under Net..."
"Not those guys again!!" Roll cried. "I just battled one in the Elimination Round!"
"They're here?" Serenade cried. "This could be a problem...."
"Do you think they're followers of that evil Navi?" Russell asked.
Serenade nodded. "It could be no other.... He's infected 8 Navis to try to enter the tournament, I guess...."
"Well, I saw 2 get deleted..." Copyman said.
"And Megaman & I deleted 2 others, and I just defeated 1...." Roll added.
"That's 5.... There's still 3 left..." Zero said.
"Roll... Be very careful..." Serenade said. "Those 3 could appear here...."
Roll nodded. "Right.... I won't let them win the tournament!"
"Lord S, I saw one suspicious Navi today..." Zero said. "He was attacking some of the Navis in the Waiting Area..."
"I think I ran into him..." Roll said. "A purple Navi with a cannon on his shoulder?"
Zero nodded. "Yes, that was him... Do you think he's 1 of the followers of that evil Navi?"
"We can't be sure..." Serenade said. "But Zero, stay by Roll at all times.... If anyone comes near her, protect her by all means!"
"I'll do my best, Lord S." Zero said.
"Roll, you can stay here until tomorrow..." Serenade said. "You'll be safe here."
"Thank you, Serenade..." Roll said.
"I'll stay in Under City..." Copyman said. "That way I'll be Roll's decoy and be able to figure out if anyone's after her."
Serenade nodded. "It may be the only way to draw out those remaining dark Navis..."
Roll was worried. Will these Navis be coming after her? And can she even survive the rest of the tournament? Chapter Six: The Evil Navi Back in the Real World, Lan & Chaud arrived at Sci Lab.
"MR. FAMOUS!!!!!" Lan screamed throughout the lab. "YOU'VE GOT SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!!!!!"
Lan's father, Dr. Yuichiro Hikari, ran up to Lan. "Is something wrong, Lan?"
"Dad, where's Mr. Famous?" Lan asked.
"I don't know..." Dr. Hikari said. "He was here..."
"We've got some questions for him..." Chaud said.
"Well, he had Kendoman in the Sci Lab Computer, why don't you ask Kendoman where Mr. Famous is?" Dr. Hikari said.
Lan & Chaud jacked Megaman & Protoman in. They found Kendoman.
"Ah, Megaman! You've come to renew your training?" Kendoman asked. "And you brought a decibel?"
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A DECIBEL??" Protoman growled.
"Actually Kendoman, we're..." Megaman was interrupted.
"Silence!! You must train!!" Kendoman said.
Kendoman came after Megaman with his sword. Megaman jumped and avoided it.
"Kendoman, I came to talk...." Megaman cried.
"NO TALK!! TRAIN!!!" Kendoman yelled. He tried to attack Megaman again.
"Gutpunch, Battle Chip in!" Lan cried, throwing in a chip into his PET.
Megaman's hand changed into a large fist. Megaman punched Kendoman.
"Var Sword, Battle Chip in!" Chaud cried, slotting in a chip.
A short, yellow sword appeared on Protoman's hand. Protoman used it to slash Kendoman's sword in half.
"Now will you listen?" Megaman asked.
"You have beaten me..." Kendoman said. "You have learned well!!"
"Kendoman... We're here to find out where Mr. Famous is..." Protoman said.
"Oh... Sorry about that..." Kendoman said. "He's cowering over behind Dr. Hikari's Desk for some reason...."
"KENDOMAN!!!" Mr. Famous jumped out from his hiding place and screamed.
"There you are!!" Lan cried.
"Why are you hiding?" Chaud asked.
"Unn... Me? I'm not hiding..." Mr. Famous said. "I was looking for something!!!"
"Mr. Famous.... We've got to ask you something about Gateman..." Lan said.
"Where did he go?" Chaud asked.
"Gateman? ... You know I have a lot of Navis... Heh heh... Umm...." Mr. Famous tried to avoid answering. "Was he deleted... Umm..."
"Did he go to that Under Net Tournament?" Kendoman asked. "No wait, that was Punk..."
"Punk went to the Under Net Tournament??!" Lan cried.
"Big mouth...." Mr. Famous grumbled. "It's hard to find a good reliable Net Navi these days...."
"Then you DO know something!!" Lan cried.
"Spill it!" Chaud yelled.
"Ok, ok... I've heard about the Under Net Tournament..." Mr. Famous said. "It's only open to Solo-Navis... Punk left to go join, ok?"
"What about Gateman?" Lan asked.
"Gateman? He was from the Under Net..." Mr. Famous explained. "He just came along with me for a while to help with the Gospel problem..."
"So if Gateman's back in the Under Net..." Chaud said. "He was control the gates to there..."
"Do you know anything about the 8 Navis of Darkness?" Lan asked.
"No, but I do...." a voice said.
An old man walked into the room. He was bald, had a long white beard, and wore a blue outfit.
"This is Dr. Cain." Dr. Hikari explained. "He's a new helper here. He was working on a new experiment..."
"My Net Navi became infused with Dark Chips..." Dr. Cain said. "I'm here with Dr. Hikari to try to figure out how to cure him... But my Navi got away, and infect my other Net Navis who were my helpers..."
"You have multiple Navis?" Lan asked.
"I was working on a new Super Chip, my Navi I created was programmed with it..." Dr. Cain explained. "But I'm afraid greed turn him evil, and he used the Dark Chips until he was infused with them... Now he's a Navi Virus! He can infect Net Navis!"
"And that's those 8 Navis of Darkness?" Chaud asked.
"Yes.... That's them... Have you run into them?" Dr. Cain asked.
"4 so far..." Lan said. "And my friend's Navi was kidnapped!"
"That doesn't make much sense..." Dr. Cain said. "Why would they kidnap 1 Navi?"
"We've got to find Roll!" Megaman cried.
"Roll's been kidnapped?" Dr. Hikari asked.
"That's right, dad..." Lan said. "Then some Navi called Copyman tried to replace her..."
Mr. Famous gulped.
"Mr. Famous knows more then he's letting on..." Chaud thought to himself.
"How can I get to the Under Net?" Lan asked.
"Hmm... Let's see...." Dr. Cain was interrupted.
The computers started flashing red lights.
"Something's in the computer!" 1 of the Sci Lab Scientists cried.
"It's a virus! Lan!" Dr. Hikari turned to his son.
"I'm on it! Megaman!" Lan cried.
"There isn't anything here, Lan..." Megaman said.
Then something bashed into Megaman, Protoman & Kendoman. It was a black & blue penguin-like Navi.
"Hee hee hee!! Got the real trip on you!" the Navi laughed. "I'm Chill Penguin, 1 of the 8 Navis of Darkness!"
"That's one of them all right!" Dr. Cain cried.
"Well, if it isn't my old master, Dr. Cain!" Chill Penguin said. "Master Sigma will deal with you in short time!!"
"Master Sigma?" Megaman asked. "Who's he?"
"That's the name of my Navi..." Dr. Cain said. "Sigma...."
"Where's Roll?" Megaman growled.
"Roll? What's a Roll?" Chill Penguin asked.
"Quit playing dumb!!!" Megaman fired his MegaBuster at Chill Penguin.
"I have NO IDEA what you're talking about...." Chill Penguin said, easily avoiding Megaman's blast.
"Lan, he's too fast!" Megaman cried.
"No, it's because your aim sucks!!" Chill Penguin joked.
"How about MY AIM??" Protoman asked, who was right behind Chill Penguin.
"EEKKK!!!" Chill Penguin screamed, as Protoman attacked.
Chill Penguin was knocked down.
"All right you, we want answers!!" Kendoman said.
"You'll never get me to talk!!" Chill Penguin yelled.
"More like we'll never get him to shut up..." Protoman grumbled.
"Cool off, hot head!!" Chill Penguin opened his mouth. He shot a cold breeze at Protoman. Protoman was frozen solid in ice.
"He's really got the Blues....." Chill Penguin joked. "And you 2 are next!!"
"Not so fast! Flame Line!" Lan cried, installing another Battle Chip.
Megaman put his hand on the ground. A line of fire hit Chill Penguin. Chill Penguin jumped up and down on fire.
"HOT!!! HOT!!!!" Chill Penguin screamed.
"Heat Shot, Battle Chip in!" Mr. Famous threw in a chip into his PET.
Kendoman fired a blast of fire at Chill Penguin. Chill Penguin burned up and was deleted.
"So much for that..." Lan groaned. "We didn't get any clues where Roll is...."
"Ummm..... Lan..." Chaud groaned. "Can.... You... Umm... Defrost Protoman?"
"Would it kill you to ask nicely?" Lan asked.
"THAT WAS NICELY!!!!" Chaud yelled.
"Heat Spread, Battle Chip in!" Lan threw in another chip.
Megaman fired the heat chip into the frozen Protoman. The ice melted and Protoman could move again.
"Well, at least you're not a Proto-icle anymore!" Megaman joked.
Protoman sighed. "Don't get cocky, rookie!!" he snapped at Megaman.
"If you really wish to enter the Under Net, take these chips, you might need them..." Dr. Cain handed Lan 2 chips.
"1 is called the C-Slider... You won't be able to enter without this. It will allow Megaman to travel down narrow paths in the Net." Dr. Cain explained. "The other is a Jet Pack. Megaman will be able to fly with this."
"Thanks, Dr. Cain." Lan said.
"Also, take my little helper with you..." Dr. Cain plugged his PET into the computer.
A small blue bird program appeared next to Megaman.
"This is Beat. He'll guide you and help you find the entrance to the Under Net." Dr. Cain explained.
"Tweet tweet!!" Beat chirped.
Chaud unplugged his PET. "Let's go Lan!"
Lan pulled out his PET. "Where are we going, Chaud?"
"I'll explain when we get there!" Chaud said. "I think I have an idea where to Jack In!"
Lan followed Chaud out of Sci Lab. "We'll be back, dad!"
"Good luck, Lan!" Dr. Hikari cried.
"Lan, you might cause more trouble than you think..." Mr. Famous groaned. "Then again, S may need your help..." Chapter Seven: Round 1: Roll's Fight for Victory! Back in the Under Net, Roll waited in the arena with Marino & Mary, waiting for the tournament to begin.
Serenade stepped out. She sat in a tall chair at the highest point of the stadium, so she could see everything going on.
Serenade extended her arm. "Let the tournament begin!!"
Nana walked to the center of the arena. "Here is the line-up for Round 1..."
A video screen appeared and showed all the contestants. Marino & Mary found themselves against some other Navis Roll never saw before. Roll searched for herself. Then she found it. Roll was up against a large mammoth-like Navi.
"He looks creepy..." Teal said. "Are you going to be ok, Roll?"
Roll nodded. "I'll be fine, Teal!"
"Yeah well.... You're the first match Roll." Marino said. "Good luck!"
"Same here..." Mary said. "Don't go and get beaten until I can have a shot at you, ok?"
Roll smiled. "You do the same, Mary..."
"Roll, I'll take you to the assigned place for your match." Zero said.
Zero lead Roll into a room behind the arena.
"We have to wait for everyone to clear the area..." Zero explained. "Then you and your opponent face each other."
"What are the rules for this?" Roll asked.
"Rule #1 in the Under Net, if you haven't all ready figured it out, is.... Survival...." Zero said.
"I KNEW that, Zero..." Roll snapped. "I meant are there ANY rules I should know?"
"Not really..." Zero said. "It's kinda just fight until you delete your opponent..."
"Great..." Roll groaned.
"Where as for battling, in this round all you have to do is call out the Battle Chips of your choice, and they'll activate!" Zero explained. "You can use ANY Battle Chip, and as many as you want..."
"Wow, it could almost be never-ending with that..." Roll said.
"Which is why later you'll be limited to as little as 1-5 chips." Zero pointed out.
"And after that, no chips right?" Roll asked.
Zero nodded. "That's why Serenade gave you the Muramasa Sword. You should have at least 1 weapon on you at all times. Even some of the Navis you met carry weapons..."
"Yeah, like that purple guy Vile..." Roll said. "He had a cannon...."
Then Roll remembered something. She looked around. "Where's Russell?"
"Serenade sent him on a mission, why?" Zero asked.
"Just wondered..." Roll said. "Any info about that Vile or those Navis of Darkness?"
Zero shook his head. "No, nothing...."
Then Roll heard a tone. It was to signal her to appear in the stadium. Roll stepped out, and faced the crowd. There were so many Navis!
RRRRUUUMMMBLE.... Roll could feel the ground shaking beneath her. Roll looked ahead. The mammoth Navi was walking into the stadium. Every step he took shook the ground. This Navi was huge. He was a least 4 or 5 times bigger than Roll.
"You're my opponent?" the mammoth Navi laughed. "Talk about an easy 1st round! If the rest of the tourney is like this, it'll be a breeze!!"
"Don't take me so likely!!" Roll growled. "Who do you think you are?"
"I'm called Flame Mammoth, 1 of the 8 Navis of Darkness, cutie!!" the mammoth Navi said. "I have to pay you back for destroying my pals!!"
Roll gulped. She didn't know if she could take this Navi on, but she was going to try.
"Begin the battle!" Serenade shouted.
Flame Mammoth came charging after Roll. Luckily, Roll was too fast for the large, heavy Navi.
"You're quick on your feet, I'll say that..." Flame Mammoth said.
"That's not all!" Roll cried. "Heart Slash!!"
Roll threw a group of hearts at Flame Mammoth. Flame Mammoth spit out and flame and destroyed the hearts.
"A Fire Navi, huh?" Roll thought. "Then I'll have to use an Aqua Chip!!"
But Flame Mammoth didn't give Roll a chance. He stomped his foot on the ground, causing it to shake even worse than before. Roll lost her balance and fell to the floor.
Now Flame Mammoth had the opening. He charged and smashed into Roll. But got up and jumped to her feet.
"Aqua Tower!!" Roll called out for a Battle Chip.
Roll placed her hand on the ground. A geyser of water shot out and slammed into Flame Mammoth.
"Aqua Sword!!" Roll cried. A water-filled sword replaced her hand.
Roll slashed the sword and a wave of water appeared. But it didn't seem like Flame Mammoth was taking much damage!
"Meteor!!" Flame Mammoth yelled.
A wand appeared in Flame Mammoth's hand. He waved it around, and a meteor shower came down on Roll. Roll dodged a few, but there were too many. Roll got hit many times over and over.
But Roll wasn't going to give up yet! She tried to stand up.
"Want more? Heat Spread!!" Flame Mammoth yelled. He shot a fire blast at Roll.
"He keeps using those Fire Attacks.... Wait!!!" Roll got an idea. She waited for Flame Mammoth to call his next chip.
"Fire Blade!!" Flame Mammoth cried.
"Anti Fire!!" Roll cried.
A blast surged through Flame Mammoth, leaving him dazed.
"Roll Flash!!" Roll cried, whipping her antennas at Flame Mammoth.
BASH! Flame Mammoth fell to the ground.
"Aqua Blade, Aqua Sword!!" Roll called for 2 chips. 2 water-filled swords appeared in place of her hands.
Roll rapidly slashed the swords at Flame Mammoth.
SLICE! DICE!! BOOM!!!! Flame Mammoth was deleted.
"She did it!!!" Marino cried.
The crowd stood up and cheered. Roll felt great.
Roll went back to Zero, who was standing with Cinnamon. Cinnamon healed Roll, and Roll decided to watch the next battle.
Marino was next, she was up against a large Navi named Massimo. Massimo was a green Navi that carried a large hammer with him.
"Go get 'em, Marino!!" Mary shouted.
"I'd back out if I were you, I wouldn't like to hurt a nice lady..." Massimo warned.
"I'm not that NICE!" Marino said.
"Begin the match!!" Serenade cried.
Marino dashed up and charged after Massimo. Marino moved so fast, Roll could barely see her. Before she knew it, Marino had bashed into Massimo multiple times!
Massimo tried to swing his hammer around, but he kept missing Marino. Marino dove under the hammer, and kicked upward at Massimo. She knocked Massimo over, and used an Air Shot Chip.
"Big mistake!!" Massimo said, as he swung his hammer.
This time, the hammer slammed into Marino, throwing her to the other side of the stadium.
"Oh no!!!" Roll cried.
Massimo went up to Marino, holding his hammer out for 1 more strike.
"It's over..." Massimo said.
"That's what you think!!!" Marino cried.
Marino quickly kicked the hammer into the air. Then Marino fired at Massimo again. It didn't do much damage, but it kept him still until the hammer crashed onto his head. BANG! Massimo collapsed to the ground, and was defeated.
"Way to go, Marino!!!" Roll cried.
Marino sighed, relieved that was over. Mary was up next.
Mary's opponent tough, was a familiar face.
"Tuttle!!!" Roll cried. "What's HE doing here?"
Mary's weapon was a large sickle, a large stick with a blade on the end. She held it up high and was ready to fight.
"Another female?" Tuttle groaned. "What kind of tournament is this?"
"Shut up and fight!!!" Mary growled.
"Begin!!" Serenade cried.
Tuttle began firing a Vulcan Gun, but Mary deflected all the blasts.
"Zap Ring!" Tuttle cried. He fired the ring of electricity at Mary.
"You've GOT to be kidding me..." Mary groaned.
Mary swung her sickle, and whacked the ring right back at Tuttle. Tuttle got trapped in the electric ring.
"This is TOO EASY!" Mary said. "Heat Side!"
Mary shot the fire attack at Tuttle. Tuttle caught on fire and started running around like an idiot.
"How'd that moron ever make it through the Elimination Round??" Marino asked.
"Maybe he waited for everyone to kill each other?" Zero asked.
Russell stepped up to Zero. "Did I miss much?"
"Oh there you are, Russell. Roll & Marino finished their battles...." Zero said. "Mary's up against this idiot..."
Russell looked into the stadium. "Oh god, I thought he gave up...."
"He didn't learn his lesson in Net City..." Roll grumbled.
Mary called out for another chip. "Wave!"
A large wave of water appeared and splashed down on Tuttle. Tuttle collapsed, he was defeated.
"Once and moron, ALWAYS a moron..." Russell groaned.
"Man was that easy!!" Mary said.
"Don't complain, it gets harder from here..." Marino pointed out.
"Right." Mary nodded. "Say Roll, let's go celebrate our first wins!"
Roll smiled. "I'd love too!"
"Go on ahead, Roll..." Russell said. "That way you'll be all rested up and ready for the next match!"
"The results won't be until all the battles are finished, anyway." Zero said. "Have a good time..." Chapter Eight: Bath House Battle! Back again in the Real World....
"What are we doing here, Chaud?" Lan asked, stepping off the Metroline.
"I think we might find out something, so shut up and follow me!" Chaud snapped at Lan.
"In Yoko Yoko?" Lan asked. "All there is here is the hot springs!"
"Lan's right, Chaud..." Mayl said. "How is this going to help us find Roll?"
"I still wonder what you're doing here, Mayl..." Chaud said. "Without a Navi, you're going to just get in the way!!"
"Lan asked me to come!" Mayl barked at Chaud. "And Roll's my Navi, I want to help find her!!"
"I told you I'd be responsible for her!" Lan growled.
"You're not responsible for anything!!" Chaud yelled.
"He's got a point, Lan..." Megaman said.
"I thought you're on MY SIDE!!!" Lan screamed.
"I still say I should handle this alone..." Chaud said.
"Hey, long time no see!" a woman with long black hair stepped up to Lan.
"Tamako!!" Lan cried. "It's been a while!"
"Hey, want to have a quick battle, I'm on my break!!" Tamako asked.
"Would I ever!" Lan cried.
"LAN!!!" Megaman yelled.
"Oh yeah, sorry..." Lan said. "I can't... Mayl's Net Navi Roll has been kidnapped... We're trying to find her!"
"Then what are you doing here?" Tamako asked.
"Official Net Battler Business..." Chaud said, showing his ID.
"An Official?" Tamako asked, surprised. "But there's nothing wrong here..."
Then they heard a scream. A bunch of people ran out of the hotel.
"What's going on?" Tamako asked.
"The bath's turning into a whirlpool!!" a person cried.
"It's either pulling people in, or it blows them out!" another said.
"Sounds like trouble..." Protoman said.
"Let's check it out!" Chaud cried.
The group ran to the bath house. The was a whirlpool! A huge one!
"How can this happen?" Tamako asked.
"It looks like the work of a virus!" Lan cried.
"Lan, we have to find a Jack In Port!" Megaman cried.
Lan searched the area, but it seemed like nothing was there. Mayl almost slipped into the water, but she grabbed a lion statue that was there. Then she noticed something.
"Lan! There's a Jack In Port here!!" Mayl cried.
"I never knew that was there..." Tamako said.
"Never mind that, Jack In, Megaman, Power Up!!" Lan cried, plugging in his PET.
Chaud & Tamako plugged their PETs in too.
Megaman, Protoman & Metalman appeared in the Cyber-World bath house. The program Navis that control the temperature and maintenance the water were deleted.
"Who caused this?" Metalman asked.
"Who are you??" a large red octopus-like Navi asked.
"Are you the one causing this?" Megaman asked.
"I am Launch Octopus." the Navi said. "1 of the 8 Navis of Darkness!"
"Another one?" Protoman groaned. "These guys never know when to quit!"
"Tweet!" Beat chirped.
"What is it, Beat?" Megaman asked.
"You'll pay for destroying my brother Navis!" Launch Octopus growled. "Master Sigma will rule this world!"
"You have to get through us, first!" Megaman said.
"No time for talk!" Metalman growled, charging after Launch Octopus.
"Metalman, no!" Megaman cried.
But it was too late. Launch Octopus grabbed Metalman with his tentacles, then sent him flying with a whirlpool.
"Next..." Launch Octopus waved his tentacles around.
"I'll take him!" Protoman dashed forward, trying to slice off the tentacles, but Launch Octopus grabbed Protoman before he could attack.
Megaman got caught in a whirlpool, and then Launch Octopus grabbed him too!
"Now what?" Megaman asked.
"Try this, Lance Battle Chip in, download!" Lan threw a chip into his PET.
3 bamboo lances came up from the ground and hit Launch Octopus. Launch Octopus started to lose his grip on Protoman.
"Hero Sword, Battle Chip in!" Chaud installed a chip into his PET.
A large sword appeared in place of Protoman's hand. Protoman sliced the tentacles. They were free!
"Elec Sword, Battle Chip in!" Lan threw in another chip.
An electric filled sword appeared in place of Megaman's hand. Megaman used it on Launch Octopus. Launch Octopus was paralyzed by the electricity.
"Allow me to finish him!!" Metalman called out, as he charged up his fist.
Metalman's hand turned a shinny steel color, he punched Launch Octopus with all his might. BOOOMMM!!! Launch Octopus was deleted!
"Lan, did that work?" Megaman asked.
Lan looked at the ponds in the bath house. The water returned to normal!
Tamako unplugged her PET. "I'll go check on everyone to see if they're ok..." Tamako ran back into the hotel.
"Tweet tweet!" Beat chirped
"What's Beat's problem?" Protoman asked.
Megaman then noticed something that Launch Octopus was looking at when they came in. It looked like the lion statue they jacked into. Megaman found a button and pressed it.
RRUUUMMBLE!!! The room starting shaking.
"Megaman, what did you do?" Lan asked.
"There was this strange button where Launch Octopus was. I think he was checking this area for something!" Megaman said. "That's what Beat was trying to tell us!"
"But what?" Mayl asked.
"Maybe that!" Chaud pointed to a cave entrance that appeared behind the bath house.
Lan & Chaud unplugged their PETs. Lan, Mayl & Chaud looked inside the cave. But this didn't seem like a cave on the inside. There were large computers around.
"What is this place?" Mayl asked.
"It looks like a laboratory..." Chaud said. "An abandoned one, of course..."
"Chaud, there's a Jack In Port over here..." Lan pointed to the largest computer.
Lan & Chaud plugged their PETs in. Megaman & Protoman searched the area. It was all dark, Megaman could hardly see a thing.
"What in the world is this?" Mayl asked.
"The PET signal is getting a little fussy, Lan..." Megaman said.
"That's bad..." Lan said. "Maybe you should Log Out..."
Then a blast hit Megaman & Protoman. 2 Navis stepped out. One had a bowling pin on his arm and bowling balls on the other. The other Navi looked a lot like a genie. A 3rd Navi stood in the back.
"Who are you?" Megaman asked.
"You dare to ask us when you are the ones that trespassed?" one of the Navis asked.
"You think you can enter the deepest part of the Under Net?" the other Navi asked.
"This is it!" Chaud cried. "The secret entrance to the Under Net!!"
"We are the Ranked Navis, protectors of the gate!" the 3rd Navi said. "I am Chief R, Rank #2. I will not allow anyone to defy our Lord of the Under Net!"
"I am Bowlman, Rank #6!" the Navi with the bowling balls said.
"And I am Mistman, Rank #4!" the genie-like Navi said.
"Ranks?" Megaman & Lan were confused.
"Where's my Navi??" Mayl cried.
"Hmmm? What is she talking about?" Mistman asked.
"Beats me." Bowlman said.
"Delete them." Chief R said. "We can't allow them to attempt an attack on S!"
"Who's S?" Protoman asked.
But they didn't get an answer. Bowlman & Mistman came after them. Bowlman shot out bowling pins. Mistman brought out a mist that made it harder for Megaman & Protoman to see.
"These must be the creeps that took Roll!!" Megaman cried.
"First we have to beat them! Barrier, Battle Chip in!" Lan threw in another Battle Chip.
A shield appeared over Megaman. It blocked all the bowling pins coming after him.
"3 Hi-Cannons in, Program Advance: Z-Cannon 2!!" Lan cried, throwing in 3 chips into his PET.
A large cannon appeared in place of Megaman's arm. Megaman fired the cannon like crazy. Mistman & Bowlman's attack didn't do any damage while Megaman had the Z-Cannon 2 Program Advance!
"Knight Sword, Step Sword, Battle Chips in!!" Chaud threw in 2 chips into his PET.
2 large swords appeared in place of Protoman's hands. Protoman lunged forward, and attack Mistman & Bowlman.
SLICE! BOOM! CUT!! BLAST!!!! Bowlman & Mistman collapsed, defeated.
"They're very powerful..." Chief R muttered to himself.
"Now where's Roll?" Megaman asked.
"I'm not sure WHAT you're talking about, but it'll have to wait for another day!" Chief R said. "Gateman! Open the gate!"
The Remo Gate appeared again. It opened, Chief R tried to enter.
"Not this time! Area Grab!!" Lan & Chaud threw chips into their PETs.
Megaman & Protoman dashed ahead and shoved Chief R out of the way. Protoman, Beat & Megaman ended up jumping into the Remo Gate. The Remo Gate disappeared.
"Lan, Chaud don't!!!!" cried Mr. Famous, who just came running in.
"Mr. Famous??" Mayl cried.
"I knew you weren't telling us everything!" Chaud cried.
"They went in, didn't they?" Mr. Famous asked.
Lan looked at his PET. The screen was all black, and said "No Signal" on the screen.
"Why can't we see them?" Lan asked.
"Because they're now in the deepest part of the Under Net..." Mr. Famous explained. "Lan, Roll would have been fine but now you could put her in danger!!"
Mayl grabbed Mr. Famous. "You know where Roll is??? TELL ME!!!!!!!"
"She's safe, for now...." Mr. Famous said. "But if anyone finds out she knows Megaman.... Roll will be in BIG trouble..."
"So you work for the Under King?" Chaud asked.
"S is good, believe it or not." Mr. Famous explained. "S sent Gateman to me during the Gospel Incident. Gateman had to return to S though. S is trying to stop Sigma from taking over the Net!!"
"So where's Roll fit in all this?" Mayl asked.
"Roll has to win the Under Tournament..." Mr. Famous said. "Or we're all doomed...." Chapter Nine: Round 2: Love & Hate Battles Back in the Under Net:
Mary was finishing her next fight. She deleted her opponent in seconds!!
"Mary's lucky..." Marino grumbled. "She keeps getting WEAK opponents..."
"They can't be that weak..." Zero pointed out. "Or they wouldn't have made it this far..."
"Maybe Mary's stronger than you think!" Roll said.
"Yeah sure..." Marino groaned. "Who am I up against next?"
"Well I'm first..." Roll said. "I'm up against.... Punk?"
A red Navi walked up to Roll. "That's me, cutie! See ya in the arena!"
Punk walked off. Roll gulped.
"Wasn't he another one of Mr. Famous' Navis?" Roll whispered to Gateman.
"He left to enter the tournament..." Gateman explained. "He'll go back to Mr. Famous when this is over."
Roll entered the arena, ready for her battle with Punk.
"Knock 'em dead Roll!!" Mary called out.
Roll smiled. She was ready for the first time since she began this tournament!
Punk entered the arena. He looked ready too.
"Begin!" Serenade called out.
Punk threw his long arm out towards Roll. Roll flipped into the air and dodged it.
"Shot Gun!" Roll cried. A buster appeared on her arm. She fired it at Punk.
"Slasher!" Punk cried. A small sword appeared on Punk's arm. Punk jumped up and slashed Roll repeatedly.
"Air Shoes!" Roll cried. She pulled herself away from Punk.
Roll used one of the chips from Zero. "Z-Saber!!"
A different sword appeared on Roll's arm. She slashed Punk 3 times. Punk crashed to the ground, but pulled himself up enough to fire a spiked ball at Roll. Roll dodged it, but another came! SMASH!! Roll crashed into the ground.
"It's time to finish this, cutie!!" Punk cried, curling himself into a ball. He rolled around the stadium, smashing into Roll over and over again.
"Heart Slash!!" Roll tried attacking Punk, but it was no use. Nothing could get past him in the ball form.
"What do I do? ..... Got it!" Roll had an idea.
Roll jumped on top of Punk. She held on as tight as she could. Punk moved all over, smashing into walls trying to shake Roll off.
"M-Cannon!!" Roll cried. A cannon appeared on her arm.
Roll fired the cannon, and the force of it sent her and punk flying into a wall. Punk was no longer in his ball form, a little dazed.
Roll pulled up enough strength to grab her Muramasa Sword, and finish Punk. SLASH! SWIPE!! Punk collapsed, he was defeated!
Roll sighed, exhausted. She almost collapsed herself. Cinnamon came running into the stadium and healed both Roll & Punk.
Punk smiled and laughed. "You beat me good, girl!!"
Roll smiled. "You were good yourself..."
Mary & Marino joined Roll.
"Hey, you won!" Marino cried.
"You're up next, Marino!" Teal said.
"Who am I up against...." Marino looked at the other end of the stadium to see who showed up.
A Navi in a dark outfit stepped into the stadium..... It was Spider!!
"Oh my....." Teal sighed.
"Good luck girl..." Mary said.
Roll didn't know what to say. She understood if Marino was worried now. If would be like if Roll was up against Megaman.
"Marino.... This is your chance to show him you're strong enough by yourself!" Roll cried.
Marino smiled. "Yeah...."
Marino & Spider faced each other.
"I didn't expect to see you..." Spider said. "I'll make this end quickly, so you don't get hurt too much..."
"And I'll make sure I'm the winner!!" Marino growled. "You think you're so great!!"
"Begin the match!!" Serenade cried.
Marino dashed forward, trying to get the first strike. Spider threw 3 cards out. Each one exploded. Marino couldn't see Spider now through the smoke.
"Peek-a-boo!!" Spider cried, who was behind Marino.
Spider fired a V-Gun at Marino. Marino blocked with a Met Guard. Then Spider threw out 5 cards.
"Two pair!!" Spider cried. The cards shot a blast at Marino.
"C'mon Marino!!!" Mary cried. "You can beat this jerk!!!"
Marino pulled herself up and threw a Mini Bomb at Spider. Spider threw a Lil Bomb at it. The 2 bombs exploded in mid-air. Marino ran through the blast and slammed into Spider.
"Wide Blade!" Marino cried. A sword appeared on her arm.
"Fighter Sword!" Spider cried. A larger sword appeared on his arm.
The 2 Navis slashed swords at each other. Neither one was going to give in. But Spider hit so hard once, he broke Marino's sword!! Spider was ready to strike again.
"3 Spreaders!!!" Marino screamed. "Program Advance: Hyper Burst!!"
2 guns appeared on Marino's arms. She fired them together at Spider. BLAST! BOOM!! The shot exploded multiple times.
"Long Sword!" Marino cried. A long blade appeared on Marino's arm.
Marino slashed Spider with the sword. Spider collapsed, defeated!
"She won!!!!!" Roll cried.
Cinnamon came out and healed both of them. "You both did very well..."
Spider pulled himself up. "I guess I was wrong about you...."
Marino blushed. "So I'm not just a helpless girl?"
Spider shook his head. "Definitely not... In fact... You could be my bodyguard!!"
Marino smacked Spider in the head. "Not in your life!!!"
"Boy is he dense..." Mary groaned.
Roll giggled. It reminded her of herself and Megaman.
Then Gateman looked a little weird. "What do you mean intruders?" he said to himself.
"What's wrong?" Zero asked.
"Someone's trying to get in! Chief R's asking for the gate!" Gateman said.
"Open it away from here..." Zero said. "We don't want to alarm anyone..."
"I sent the Remo Gate out of town...." Gateman said. "Russell's there, he'll handle whoever it is!"
"We better go in case he needs help!" Copyman said.
"What's going on?" Roll asked.
"Intruders..." Copyman said. "They're trying to enter here..."
"Do you think it's some of those Navis of Darkness?" Roll asked.
"Might be..." Zero said.
"Then I'm coming with you!" Roll cried.
"Very well..." Gateman said.

Over where the gate appeared, Megaman, Beat & Protoman fell right out into the ground!!
"Ugh... What was that thing?" Megaman asked.
"Don't look now, but I think we've got trouble..." Protoman said.
"Who are you?" Russell asked.
Protoman held up his sword. "Where's the Navi you Under Net Navis kidnapped?"
"I don't like your tone..." Russell said. "You're an Official, aren't you?"
"I won't ask you again..." Protoman said. "Answer or be deleted!"
"Protoman! Let's try to talk to them!!" Megaman cried.
"Talking won't save the Net!!" Protoman said.
Russell grabbed Protoman's sword and broke it in half. "What was this about deleting me?"
Mistman, Bowlman & Chief R came through the Remo Gate.
"There they are! Get them!!" Chief R cried.
"Not them again!!" Megaman cried.
Mistman, Bowlman & Chief R were ready to fire.
"STOP!!!!!!!" Roll shouted, running in front of Megaman.
"ROLL!!!!!" Megaman cried.
"Chief R, you're making a mistake!!" Zero cried.
"Zero???" Protoman cried.
"Oh, it's them again...." Copyman groaned.
"Megaman, what are you doing here?" Gateman asked.
"We were trying to rescue Roll..." Megaman explained. "But... What's going on??"
"Megaman, you idiot!!!!!" Roll screamed. "You can't be here! If someone figures out who you are...."
"We come to rescue her, and she doesn't want to be rescued?" Protoman was confused.
"I believe I can answer your questions, Megaman....." Serenade appeared. "But we can't stay here, or we'll be seen...."
"Who are you?" Megaman asked.
"I am Serenade..." Serenade said. "The Lord of the Under Net."

Chapter Ten: Megaman Meddles In! Megaman was taken to Serenade, and they exchanged their stories.
"So let me get this straight...." Megaman said. "Sigma plans on destroying the entire Net by having one of his followers become a Ranked Navi.... And you need Roll to become your Rank #1 before that...."
Serenade nodded. "Yes, but I didn't know his name is Sigma..."
"Tweet tweet!!" Beat chirped.
"Who's your new friend?" Roll asked.
"That's Beat..." Megaman explained. "Dr. Cain gave him to us to try to find you."
"So why did you pick Roll for this?" Protoman asked.
"Both you and Megaman are far too well known, and really only Solo Navis can enter." Serenade explained. "I couldn't take the risk. As it is you could blow Roll's cover by being here. You cannot allow ANYONE to known your real names..."
Copyman & Zero ran up to Serenade.
"What is it?" Serenade asked.
"Lord, someone has deleted most of the contestants!!" Copyman cried.
"Why does that Copyman still look like you?" Megaman asked.
"Because Serenade thinks someone maybe after me..." Roll explained.
"Only 4 contestants remain..." Zero said.
"Who's left?" Russell asked.
"Roll, Marino, Mary & that Vile...." Copyman said.
"Strange... Copyman, keep an eye out if anything else tries to attack the remaining contestants..." Serenade said.
"Yes, lord!" Copyman nodded, and left.
"Roll, you should be getting ready for your next match." Serenade said.
Roll nodded. "Sure thing!"
Megaman & Protoman followed Roll to the stadium.
"So how are you doing?" Megaman asked.
"Why should you care? I only get in your way, remember??" Roll asked.
"It's you all right!" Megaman cried. "But I'm really sorry about that...."
"Oh really?" Roll asked.
"He's only been driving me crazy trying to find you...." Protoman groaned.
Megaman blushed. "Not that crazy.... I.. Er.... Um...."
Roll giggled. "You were worried about me?"
"Well you know, if you got hurt or something because of what I said...." Megaman said. "I mean what if some powerful Navi attack and you can't fight well enough to............"
Then Megaman realized what he just said.... "Wait, I didn't mean that!!!"
"So you still think I'm too weak?!?" Roll growled.
Roll activated the Zeus Hammer Chip and bashed Megaman in the head.
"Ouch.... That's gotta hurt..." Protoman said.
"Roll!!" Marino cried, running up to Roll. "There you are!"
"Who are these 2?" Mary asked.
"Oh, them?" Roll asked. "These are my friends... Um...."
"I'm Rock!" Megaman cried. "And he's Blues!"
"So is this the guy you've been moping over?" Mary asked.
Roll tried to shut Mary up. "No, he's just my friend, that's all!!"
"Hey Mary, your battle is up next!!" Spider & Teal called out.
"I'm coming!" Mary cried.
"Let's hurry to the arena, Roll!" Marino said.
Roll, Mary & Marino ran into the arena.
"BLUES???" Protoman growled. "Do I look blue to you? And where'd you get that stupid name for yourself?"
"I think it was the name of some video game character Lan was playing the other day..." Megaman said.
Then Megaman saw Roll walked by.
"I thought she went into the stadium?" Megaman thought.
Megaman spun around. Protoman already left. Megaman ran down to catch up with Roll.
"Roll! Hey Roll!!" Megaman called out.
But Roll kept going. Megaman caught up and grabbed Roll's shoulder.
"Hey, shouldn't you be in the stadium?" Megaman asked. "Look I know you're still mad at me, but hear me out..."
"Megaman....." Roll groaned.
"No, listen... I'm really sorry. You are strong!" Megaman said. "And you're the best friend I've ever had. I....."
Roll smacked Megaman. "It's me, COPYMAN!!!"
"Oh, how was I supposed to know?" Megaman asked.
"You could have let me talk!!" Copyman growled.
Then a blast interrupted them.
"What was that??" Megaman cried.
3 Net Navis stood in front of them.
"I thought you said she was alone!" one said.
"She was a second ago..." the other replied.
"Never mind, let's just delete them both!" the 3rd said.
"These must be the bozos that deleted the other contestants." Copyman said.
"I am Serges." one of the Navis said.
"I'm Violen." the other Navi said.
"And I'm Agile." the 3rd Navi said.
"Never seen these morons before…" Copyman said.
"You're working for Sigma, aren't you?" Megaman asked.
"He knows about the master!" Serges cried.
"Then let's delete them now!!" Agile said.
"You'll have to come and get us!!" Megaman cried.
"If you wish..." Violen said.
Violen launched a large mace attached to a chain at Megaman. BASH! Megaman was hit and was thrown into Copyman.
"Let ME handle this, will you??" Copyman growled.
Copyman jumped up and fired an Air Shot Battle Chip. The blast broke the chain on Violen's mace, and the mace landed on Violen's head.
"HEY!!" Serges screamed. "That's cheating using our weapons!!!"
"It's cheating to try to delete an opponent before their rightful match!!" Copyman said.
Agile jumped in with a sword and attacked. Copyman used a Wide Sword Chip. Megaman jumped back up and fired his buster at Serges.
"Darn... I don't have any Battle Chips!" Megaman said.
Violen got back up and attacked again. He threw his mace into Copyman's sword, which shattered.
"Hey, she was mine!!" Agile growled.
"Sigma said delete whoever at any cost!!" Violen said. "No time to be picky who gets who!!"
"Now what?" Megaman asked.
"I'm thinking!!" Copyman snapped back.
"Let's just finish them!!" Serges said.
Then a slash came past the 3 Navis. Zero & Russell jumped in front of Megaman & Copyman.
"Zero!!" Megaman cried.
"Are you ok?" Russell asked.
"We are now!" Copyman said. "Those are the guys deleting the Navis in the tournament!!"
"Ok, who are you working for?" Zero asked. "Who is the spy for Sigma?"
"We'll never talk!!" Serges yelled.
"Fat chance, girlie boy!!!" Agile said.
"Girlie boy?!?!?" Zero growled.
"No self-respecting male Navi would walk around with that long blonde hair!!" Violen said.
"THAT DOES IT!!!!!!" Zero slashed Violen in half.
BOOM! Violen was deleted. Zero pointed his sword at Serges & Agile.
"Who wants to go next?" Zero asked.
"Give us the information!" Russell said.
"It's VILE!!! It's VILE!!!!!" Serges yelled.
"You moron!!! You want to get us killed???" Agile screamed.
"We're dead anyway..." Serges said.
"Vile? Who's he?" Megaman asked.
"I figured it was him..." Copyman said.
"Well at least we kept her from her match..." Serges said. "Now she won't be able to finish the tournament!!"
"You made a big mistake going after a fake..." Russell said. "This isn't the real Roll!!"
"A fake??" Serges said, confused.
Copyman changed into Megaman. "Yeah, I can change into any Navi I want!!"
"Great!!! Now Sigma's really gonna delete us!!!" Agile groaned.
"Not until Serenade's through with you..." Russell said.
But then a huge blast hit Serges & Agile. BOOM!! Both Navis were deleted.
"What was that??" Zero cried.
"Someone just deleted both of them!!" Copyman cried.
"But who? I didn't see anyone..." Megaman said.
"So if Vile's the one sent by Sigma..." Zero said.
"We better hurry back to the stadium..." Russell said. "Roll might be in trouble..." Chapter Eleven: Friendship on the Line During the time Megaman & Copyman were dealing with Agile, Serges & Violen.....
"Where's Megaman?" Roll spun around.
"No clue..." Protoman said. "Must have fallen behind..."
"Tweet tweet..." Beat chirped.
"Your battle is going to begin soon..." Zero said. "Russell and I will look for him..."
"Thanks!" Roll smiled.
Roll, Marino & Mary stepped into the arena. Nana stepped out and was ready to announce the next battle pairs.
"Due to reasons unknown, many contestants have been deleted..." Nana explained. "Therefore, there are only 4 left, so we will finish the tournament. The 2 winners of these next rounds will battle each other immediately..."
"Wow, only 4 left?" Mary asked.
"So who's against who?" Marino asked.
"First up is Roll vs Mary!!" Nana announced.
Roll & Mary starred at each other, shocked.
"Well, I knew one of us was going to battle her..." Marino groaned. "It's hard to battle a friend..."
"Just because we're friends, doesn't mean I'm going easy on you..." Mary said.
"Same here!" Roll cried.
Roll and Mary faced each other on each side of the arena. Serenade stepped out and extended her arm.
"You will no longer be given Battle Chips in this fight... Only the weapons and Battle Chips you have on hand can be used... Begin the match!!" Serenade cried.
Mary jumped right into action. She lunged at Roll with her sickle, and almost stabbed Roll!! Roll barely jumped away. Mary kicked Roll into a wall.
"She's good..." Roll thought.
Mary jumped up into the air, ready to slash Roll.
"Roll Arrow!!" Roll cried, as a bow-and-arrow replaced her arm. Roll fired the heart arrow at Mary, knocking her off position.
Mary crashed to the ground, but took a swipe at Roll with her sickle. Roll's legs were hit, Roll fell to the ground.
"I gotta admit, I didn't expect you to last this long!!" Mary cried.
"I'm only getting started!" Roll declared.
Mary attacked again with her sickle, Roll this time used her antennas to grab the sickle.
"What the??" Mary cried.
Roll threw the sickle out the stadium, and then hit Mary with the antennas!
"Roll Flash!!" Roll cried.
Mary was knocked into a wall, but she stood back up. A sword appeared in Mary's hand, she was still ready to fight.
"I can't lose this!!" Roll thought to herself.
Roll pulled out the Muramasa Sword, and charged after Mary. SLASH!! BANG!! The 2 swords clashed back and fourth. Neither one was giving in.
Then Roll tripped, she fell off balance. Mary saw her chance, and slashed Roll. Roll fell down, she was hurt bad.
"Looks like I win..." Mary smiled.
"Not... Yet..." Roll gathered her strength, and slashed Mary's sword with the Muramasa.
Mary's sword broke into pieces.
"B-but... HOW!?!?" Mary was shocked.
Roll took one finale swipe at Mary. SLASH! Mary collapsed to the ground. Roll pointed her sword at Mary.
"Heh.... You beat me..." Mary said.
Roll almost collapsed, but Cinnamon came out and healed Roll and Mary.
"You both did very well..." Cinnamon said. "You should be proud..."
"You really amaze me, Roll." Mary said. "That Rock better know what he's got!!"
Roll blushed. "Umm... Well... He's really just my... My friend..."
"Hey Marino, you're next!" Spider cried. "Don't lose or you'll make me look bad!!"
Marino smiled. "Hmm... That's tempting...... To make you look like an idiot and beaten by a helpless GIRL!!!!"
"She is kidding, right?" Spider asked.
"You can never tell..." Teal said.
Marino stepped out into the arena. Vile was her opponent.
"Him...." Marino grumbled.
"Now I will pay you back for interfering before!" Vile said.
"And I'll pay for attacking my friend!!" Marino yelled.
"Begin!!" Serenade cried.
Marino dashed forward, but Vile easily avoided her.
"Darn... Not many can avoid my Dash Attack..." Marino grumbled.
Vile grabbed his cannon on his arm. He fired a few rounds at Marino. Marino moved quickly to avoid each shot.
"You're fast..." Vile said. "I'll give you that..."
"I'm more than that!!" Marino cried.
Marino ran forward and tried to kick Vile. Vile grabbed her leg and threw her to the ground.
"Big mistake!!" Vile declared.
Vile fired a huge blast from his cannon at Marino. BOOM!!!! The close-range shot gave Marino a lot of damage.
"Oh no!!" Roll cried.
"Marino's in trouble..." Mary cried.
Marino could barely stand. She almost collapsed.
"Time for deletion..." Vile said, ready to fire again.
"STOP!!!" Serenade jumped in front of Vile.
But Vile had already fired, the blast was heading right for Serenade!
"Serenade, watch out!!" Roll cried.
Serenade lifted her hand, and a strange barrier appeared. Vile's blast reflected and was sent back at Vile! Vile dodged the attack.
"She reflected it??" Roll cried.
"You're victorious..." Serenade said. "There is no need to delete her...."
"Very well, lord..." Vile grumbled.
"Thank you, Lord S..." Marino bowed.
"No need for thanks..." Serenade smiled. "Cinnamon, can you heal her?"
Cinnamon nodded and healed Marino.
"Roll... Be careful..." Serenade said. "Vile is your last opponent in this tournament... But he maybe your hardest!"
Roll nodded. "I know Serenade, but I can't lose..."
Roll walked up and faced Vile.
"After you, I'll become a Ranked Navi!!" Vile declared.
"Not if I can help it!!" Roll cried.
Vile started first this time. He charged forward and began firing at Roll. Roll could dodge his shots easily, but while she was Vile slammed into Roll.
"Heart Slash!!" Roll threw a bunch of hearts at Vile.
Vile shot each one with his cannon. "Is that the best you've got?"
"Roll Arrow!!" Roll growled, firing the arrow.
Vile caught the arrow in mid-air and cracked it in half.
"Little girls shouldn't be fighting in the Under Net!!" Vile said.
Vile fired his cannon again. Roll was hit, thrown to the other side of the stadium.
Megaman, Copyman, Zero & Russell ran into the stadium up to Serenade.
"Serenade, you have to do something!!" Zero cried.
"Vile's the one behind the attacks!!" Russell cried.
"What???" Serenade asked.
"We just found out. Sigma had 3 Navis deleting all of Vile's opponents!!" Megaman cried.
"Oh no!" Copyman cried. "And Roll's fighting him right now!!"
"Can't you stop the match?" Protoman asked.
"Just wait..." Serenade said. "I believe in Roll....." Chapter Twelve: General Ranks Roll searched her mind to think of another attack to use on Vile. But she didn't have time to think, Vile was coming fast for another attack.
Then she remembered the chips Zero gave her! Roll pulled 1 out. "Z-Saber!" Roll cried.
A large sword appeared in her hand. She used it to block Vile's attack.
"Cute little sword, but it won't work!" Vile cried.
Vile fired his cannon at full power at Roll's sword. The sword broke in 2!
"We can't just watch him delete her!!" Megaman cried.
"Megaman, wait and believe in Roll..." Serenade said.
Vile came in closer to fire his cannon again. Roll jumped back, but she tripped. Vile fired, and Roll crashed to the ground.
"It's over...." Vile came up really close to Roll.
"I've got to think of something...." Roll searched her mind for an answer. "WAIT!!!!"
Roll whacked Vile with her antennas, and then she wrapped them around Vile's cannon. Roll pulled it off of Vile's shoulder.
"How DARE you!!!!" Vile screamed.
Roll searched through the other chips Zero gave her. A new gun appeared in Vile's hand. He fired it. Roll grabbed a random chip and used it.
"Cross Shield!!" Roll cried.
A virus that looked like a wall appeared. Vile's blast hit it, and then a mouth appeared and attacked Vile! Vile was smashed into the ground by the virus.
Roll pulled out the Muramasa Sword, and pointed it at Vile. "It's over for you...."
Vile growled, but he was too weak to get up easily.
"The battle is over..." Serenade cried. "Roll is the winner!"
Everyone cheered. Except for Vile, who pulled together the rest of his strength and got up. Roll's back was turned, facing Serenade. Vile pulled out a Battle Chip, M-Cannon.
"You stole my victory!!" Vile yelled.
Roll spun around, Vile was ready to delete Roll at any cost!!
"ROLL!!!" Megaman screamed.
Serenade jumped down in front of Roll and waved her arm. The cannon's fire was reversed, and hit Vile. Vile was deleted.
"Serenade reflected Vile's attack with just a wave of her hand???" Roll cried. "She's more powerful than I thought...."
"Roll, are you ok?" Serenade asked.
Roll nodded. "Thanks to you..."
Megaman & Beat ran up to Roll.
"Tweet Tweet!!" Beat chirped.
"Roll, I thought he was going to delete you for sure!!" Megaman cried. "He was one of Sigma's followers!"
"Yes, but Roll defeated him, like I told you." Serenade said. "Now Roll.... You must pass the tests to become Rank #1..."
"I thought this tournament decided who will become a Ranked Navi?" Protoman asked.
"Yes, but there are 10 Ranked Navis, when 1 is deleted, the others go up in rank. I haven't raised the other's ranks, because I hope Roll can defeat all of them and become Rank #1..." Serenade explained.
"So I have to beat the 9 other Ranked Navis?" Roll asked.
Serenade nodded. "First, you must beat Rank #10...."
4 Navis stepped up to Serenade. "We're here Lord S."
"These are my 4 Guardians, Harpuia, Fefnir, Leviathan, & Phantom." Serenade explained. "Together they make Rank #10..."
"4 of them?!?!?" Megaman yelled. "That's no fair!!!"
"We work together as 1..." Phantom said.
"You will not question Lord S!!" Harpuia growled.
"Then I want to help Roll fight them!" Megaman cried.
"Megaman...." Roll tried to stop Megaman from possibly getting Serenade mad.
Serenade laughed. "Very well.... You seem very protective of her.... I'll let you battle with her...."
Roll blushed. "N-no! He's just trying to return me unharmed to Mayl!!"
"Okay, show us what you've got!!" Leviathan said.
"And try to make it worth our wild and last for at least a minute!!" Fefnir cried.
"A minute??" Megaman thought. "They're that good that they delete their opponents THAT FAST???"
"Begin your battle!" Serenade said.
"Let's do it!" Harpuia cried.
Harpuia came after Roll with 2 sharp daggers. Leviathan had a spear. Roll fired a Roll Arrow at both of them.
"Is that all you've got?" Leviathan asked, breaking the arrow.
Fefnir had a huge cannon that he fired at Megaman. Megaman tried to avoid his attacks, but Phantom appeared behind him and attacked Megaman with a star-shaped blade.
"I need Battle Chips!!" Megaman thought to himself.
"Leave him alone!!" Roll cried, using her Heart Slash.
Fefnir blasted the hearts to the ground. Roll grabbed Leviathan's spear with her antennas. She threw the spear into Fefnir's cannon as it was about to fire again. The cannon jammed and exploded.
"My cannon!!!" Fefnir cried.
"MegaBuster!!" Megaman fired a Charge Shot at Fefnir.
CRASH!! Fefnir was thrown to the other side of the stadium. Fefnir was defeated.
"Mega, are you all right??" Roll cried.
"Yeah, but look out!!" Megaman pushed Roll away.
Phantom had thrown 5 stars at Roll, Megaman took the hit instead of Roll. Megaman collapsed to the ground.
"You're next, girl!!" Phantom said.
"She's mine!!! She stole my weapon!!" Leviathan growled.
Leviathan snatched Phantom's stars and started throwing them like crazy at Roll. Roll tried to jump away, but she was hit by each one. Roll crashed to the ground.
"Oh, defeated already?" Leviathan asked.
"Not.... YET!!!" Roll pulled out the Muramasa Sword and slashed Leviathan.
Leviathan crashed to the ground, defeated.
"She got lucky... But not anymore!!" Harpuia cried.
Roll used the Muramasa and broke Harpuia's daggers. Then she used her Roll Flash. Harpuia was thrown into a wall. Harpuia collapsed.
"Wimps...." Phantom grumbled. "Losing to a girl..."
"Hey!! I am a girl!!" Leviathan barely yelled out.
"Besides you..." Phantom groaned.
"Umm... Phantom.... Watch your back..." Harpuia said.
Phantom turned around. Roll bashed Phantom in the head with the Muramasa Sword. Phantom got back up and slammed into Roll. Roll fired a Roll Arrow into Phantom, blowing him away from Roll. Roll charged forward and slashed Phantom with the Muramasa.
Phantom fell down for a minute..... Then he stood up and bowed to Roll. "You fight honorably.... Even with Megaman's help, you still basically defeated us on your own...."
Megaman stood up. "Sorry I let you down Roll..."
Roll smiled. "It's ok... You weren't in the way..."
Megaman felt guilty. "I-I... I'm really....... I'm sorry Roll...... You ARE strong.... I just was being..... Um...."
"Go ahead, you can say it...." Protoman said. "You're stupid...."
"WILL YOU STAY OUTTA THIS!?!?!?" Megaman growled.
Roll giggled. "It's ok, I get the idea...."
Serenade handed Roll a small round object. It had the number '10' on it.
"What's this?" Roll asked.
"Rank #10..." Serenade said. "Now you're Rank #10... Defeat the others to reach Rank #1...."
"So where's #9?" Megaman asked.
"As you defeat each one of us, we will give you a clue where to find the next rank..." Harpuia explained.
"Rank #9 is in the place of learning...." Phantom said.
"Place of learning?" Protoman asked. "It's a riddle?"
"Head back to the surface net, and return here when you reach Rank #6..." Serenade explained. "Gateman will be waiting for you.... He'll open the gate to here when you call for him..."
"I'll come back, Serenade..." Roll said. "I will become Rank #1!!"
Serenade smiled. "Take these to your operators..."
Serenade handed 3 data cubes to Roll, Megaman & Protoman.
"These will allow your operators PETs to function in the Undernet..." Serenade explained. "Hopefully it will allow them to give you Battle Chips, but I don't know how far it will reach..."
"Thanks Serenade..." Megaman said.
"Come back soon..." Serenade said. "And be careful..."
"Ready to go?" Gateman asked.
Roll nodded. "I'm ready."
Gateman held out his arms. A Remo Gate appeared. Megaman, Roll, Protoman & Beat jumped inside.
"I hope she can get past the others...." Zero said.
"That's not what I'm worried about..." Serenade said. "This is only the beginning... If she can't handle the Ranked Navis, Sigma will delete all of them for sure...." Chapter Thirteen: The Ranked Navis "So let me get this straight..." Lan said. "Serenade chose Roll to become a Ranked Navi so that Sigma doesn't get into Secret where he can crashed the entire Net?"
Mr. Famous nodded. "In a sense, yes."
"Hey, something's happening!" Mayl cried.
The Remo Gate appeared. Roll, Megaman, Protoman & Beat fell out.
"Ouch, couldn't he make the landing softer?" Megaman asked.
"Roll!!!! You're back!!!!!" Mayl cried.
"It's good to hear you again, Mayl!!" Roll cried.
"Megaman, you did it!" Lan cried.
"Not really Lan, I just watched Roll while she battled in this UnderNet Tournament..." Megaman said.
"Mr. Famous already filled us in..." Chaud said.
"Tweet Tweet!!" Beat chirped.
"Oh yeah, Mayl we have to find 'the place of learning' any idea where that could be?" Roll asked.
"What's this about?" Mayl asked.
"They're riddles Roll must solve to reach the other Ranked Navis..." Mr. Famous explained. "So you won the tournament?"
Roll nodded. "Yeah, but that was only the beginning... I'm Rank #10 now..."
"We have to come back here when she's Rank #6..." Protoman explained. "So let's hurry and get these ranks before Sigma tries something."
"Place of learning, huh?" Lan asked. "Hmm....."
"What about the school?" Mayl asked. "Den Tech Academy..."
"It's a start, let's go!" Lan said.

After a while, they reached the ACDC's School, Den Tech Academy.
"So where do you think the Ranked Navi is?" Lan asked.
"Just jack into the school computer and look around..." Mr. Famous said.
Mayl & Lan plugged their PETs into the school computer. Roll & Megaman searched the internet area for the Ranked Navi.
"School's closed, so there shouldn't be many programs around..." Chaud said.
"Are you looking for something?" a female Navi asked.
"Who are you?" Megaman asked.
"I'm Roxette... Rank #9..." the woman replied.
"So you're the one I have to fight?" Roll asked.
"Actually, you can take my rank..." Roxette said.
"You mean it?" Megaman asked. "Why?"
"Because I'm only the beginning... It doesn't matter if Roll beats me..." Roxette said. "There are many more Ranked Navis she must defeat... If she can't reach Rank #1, we're all doomed... Besides, I'll get my rank back when she becomes Rank #1..."
Roxette handed Roll Rank #9.
"Thank you, Roxette..." Roll said. "Where do I find the next one?"
"Where science gives life..." Roxette said.
"Science gives life?" Lan asked.
"Sci Lab!!!" Chaud & Mayl cried.

After a quick run to the Metroline, they reached Sci Lab.
"Lan, did you find Roll?" Dr. Hikari asked.
"Yeah dad, but we need to look in your PC..." Lan said.
"Is something wrong?" Dr. Cain asked.
"It's possible a Ranked Navi is hiding in there..." Mr. Famous explained.
Mayl, Lan & Chaud plugged their PETs into Dr. Hikari's PC. Roll, Megaman & Protoman searched the Cyber-World.
"Tweet!!" Beat chirped.
"Look!" Roll cried.
A tall female Navi was standing over the remains of another Navi. The other Navi's data broke apart, deleted. The female Navi turned to Roll.
"You must be the new Rank #9...." the female Navi said. "I'm Ferham, the new Rank #8..."
"The NEW Rank #8??" Roll asked.
"She must have deleted the real Ranked Navi..." Protoman said.
"Yes, and now I'll delete YOU!!!" Ferham cried. "Master Sigma wants you gone!!"
"She's one of the Navis of Darkness!!" Megaman cried.
"Red Wave, Battle Chip in!" Mayl cried, throwing the chip in her PET..
Roll placed her hand down. A huge red wave of water came crashing down on Ferham.
"Wide Blade, Battle Chip in!" Chaud threw a chip into his PET.
A sword replaced Protoman's arm. Protoman jumped, aimed his sword at Ferham. Ferham pulled out a whip and wrapped it around Protoman's arm. She threw Protoman into Megaman.
"Tweet!!" Beat slammed into Ferham.
"Thanks Beat!!" Roll cried. "Roll Arrow!!"
Roll shot the heart arrow at Ferham. It cut her whip.
"Darn you!" Ferham growled. "Take this!!"
Ferham shot two sharp beams of energy at Roll. Roll couldn't get away. SLICE! The beams sliced her legs. They broke apart into data particles.
"ROLL!!!" Mayl cried.
"Leave her alone!!" Megaman cried, firing his MegaBuster.
Ferham laughed and dodged the blast. Then she hurled a ball of energy at Megaman & Protoman. BOOOMM!!! Megaman & Protoman crashed to the other side of the area.
Roll couldn't stand. She tried to pull out the Muramasa Sword to attack, but Ferham blasted Roll again. BOOM!! Ferham had launched another blast at Roll. Now Roll's arms were gone!!!
"One more hit and she'll be deleted!" Dr. Cain cried.
"Serenade thought you were powerful enough to stop Master Sigma?" Ferham asked, laughing. "You're far too weak... Did Serenade fix the UnderNet Tournament for you?"
Roll grew angry. She was so fed up with everyone telling her that she's weak. But how could she fight with no arms or legs? Then Roll got an idea.
"I'll stop you..." Roll growled. "And I'll stop Sigma too! As long as I have this sword!!"
Roll quickly used her antennas to pick up the Muramasa Sword. Her antennas got a good grip on the sword, and she threw it into Ferham.
"UGH!!! H-how did you!?!" Ferham cried. "AARRRGHHH!!!!"
Ferham's body broke apart, she was deleted. Roll sighed, she did it...
"Mayl, use this fast!" Dr. Hikari handed Mayl a chip.
Mayl quickly threw the chip into her PET. "Recover 300, Battle Chip in!"
Roll's arms and legs slowly came back. She was hole again!! Roll ran over to were Ferham was, and found the Rank #8. Roll also picked up the Muramasa Sword.
"Unn.... What happened?" Protoman asked.
"Oh nothing..." Roll smiled.
"I hate to say it, but the Ferham mopped the floor up with us..." Megaman said.
"So where do you suppose I find Rank #7?" Roll asked.
"I don't know..." Mr. Famous said. "Maybe try looking around Net City?"
"I can send your Navis there from here." Dr. Hikari said.
"We've got to hurry..." Roll said. "I've got to reach Rank #1!!"

Chapter Fourteen: Net Stadium Battle Roll, Megaman, Protoman, Kendoman & Beat searched around Net City for the next Ranked Navi.
"Roll!!" Perl cried. "It's good to see you again!!"
"Perl! Dantz!!" Roll cried.
"So where did you go?" Dantz asked.
"It's kinda a LONG story...." Roll said. "Have you seen any new Navis around here?"
"No really..." Perl said. "You feeling ok now?"
"You were acting pretty strange when you fell out of that Remo Gate..." Dantz said.
"Huh?" Roll asked, puzzled.
"That was when Copyman replaced you..." Megaman explained. "That wasn't Roll... It was a fake..."
"Oh...." Perl said.
"That makes sense now why she acted that way..." Dantz said.
"How are you doing, Roll?" Russell appeared.
"Russell! What are you doing here?" Perl asked.
"I'm here to fight Roll..." Russell explained. "I'm Rank #7..."
"You were a Ranked Navi all along??" Roll asked.
"Yes, I knew we'd have to fight each other..." Russell said. "So I didn't want to worry you..."
"Oh boy..." Roll gulped. "So were do we start?"
"Over in the stadium..." Russell said.
"So, what's going on?" Perl asked.
"Russell works for the Lord of the Undernet..." Megaman explained. "He picked Roll to enter in the Undernet Tournament..."
"So that's why has was hanging around the stadium..." Dantz said. "He was looking for a strong Navi."
"Wait.... He was here?" Megaman asked. "Then how'd he pick Roll anyway?"
"She.... Competed in the Stadium... Once...." Perl said.
"THAT'S why she was low on health that day!!" Mayl cried.
"I didn't want to make you mad, Mayl..." Roll said.
"Ready Roll?" Russell asked.
Roll nodded. "Yeah..."
Everyone entered the stadium. Roll & Russell faced off in the center.
"Are you ready, Roll?" Russell asked.
Roll nodded.
"Wide Shot, Battle Chip in!" Mayl cried, throwing a chip into her PET.
Roll's hand turned into a gun. It fired a blade-shaped water attack. Russell just jumped up and avoided it. Then he came at Roll with a Long Blade Chip.
"Wood Tower, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in another chip.
Towers of broken trees came up from the ground. One knocked Russell off-balance.
"Roll Arrow!!" Roll fired her heart arrow.
SMACK!!! Russell was hit and crashed to the ground.
"Moko Rush, Battle Chip in!"
A bunch of sheep-like viruses appeared. They rammed into Russell, sending him flying into the sky. When he crashed to the ground, Roll was pointing the Muramasa Sword at his face.
"You win, Roll…" Russell sighed.
"He went easy on her…" Mr. Famous muttered to himself.
Russell handed Rank #7 to Roll.
"So where's the next rank?" Megaman asked.
"Where your journey began…" Russell said. "Where you went to find Roll…"
"Yoko Yoko?" Lan asked.
"I'll come with you." Russell said.

The group all hurried back to Yoko Yoko. Tamako ran up to them.
"Back already? Didn't even see you leave…" Tamako said.
"Little busy right now, Tamako!" Lan said. "Catch ya later!"
Tamako stood puzzled. "What's wrong with them?"
Lan & the others went back to the old abandoned lab they found. They all jacked in.
"So you came..." Bowlman & Mistman were standing in front of Megaman.
"Rank #6 & 4 if I remember right?" Protoman asked.
"Correct." Mistman nodded.
"But we fight together!" Bowlman said.
"So if I beat them, I'll skip to Rank #4?" Roll asked.
Russell looked worried, and didn't answer.
"Then let us battle!" Mistman said.
"Isn't this kinda unfair odds?" Megaman asked. "You 2 against just Roll?"
"It is the way of the Under Net!" Mistman said.
"You must learn to survive when the odds aren't in your favor." Bowlman said.
"It's okay, Mega..." Roll said. "I'm ready!"
"Then let's begin!!" Bowlman cried, firing bowling pins at Roll.
Roll quickly jumped. Then threw a Heart Slash at Mistman. Mistman disappeared. Roll couldn't see him anywhere. Then Mistman appeared behind Roll, and punched her.
"Flame Line, Battle Chip in!" Mayl cried, throwing a chip into her PET.
Roll placed her hand on the ground. A line of flames shot out and hit Bowlman. But Mistman had an opening and whacked Roll again.
"Roll!!" Mayl cried.
"I'm okay!" Roll replied.
"Not for long!!" Bowlman started firing his bowling pins again.
Mistman disappeared again. Roll knew he'd pop up somewhere soon.
"I've got it!" Roll cried. "Mayl, get an Invis Chip ready!"
Roll jumped into the path of the bowling pins.
"Is she crazy?" Kendoman asked.
"Just watch..." Russell said.
Roll dodged each pin, and soon was right in front of Bowlman's face.
"Come & get me!" Roll smiled. "You couldn't hit a paralyzed Metool!"
Bowlman grew angry. He held his arms up. A huge bowling ball appeared in his hands. "I'll teach you!"
Roll spun around. Mistman just appeared, ready to strike.
"Mayl!!" Roll cried. "Now!!!"
"Invis, Battle Chip in!!" Mayl threw in the chip as fast as she could.
Roll's body disappeared. Mistman threw his most powerful punch, but it hit Bowlman! Then Bowlman's bowling ball crashed onto Mistman! Mistman & Bowlman collapsed.
Roll appeared a few steps away from the 2 defeated Navis. "Great going Mayl!"
"That was great!!" Megaman cried. "She used their own attacks to beat them!!!"
"Tweet!!" Beat chirped happily.
"Darn it..." Mistman grumbled. "She beat us...."
Bowlman threw his Rank #6 at Roll. "TAKE IT!!!"
"Rank #6, now to head to Serenade!" Megaman cried.
"Right." Roll nodded. "Gateman! Open the gate!!"
The Remo Gate appeared. Roll, Megaman, Protoman, Russell, Beat & Kendoman jumped inside, they appeared right back to where they were last in the Under Net.
"I knew you could do it, Roll..." Serenade said.
"Yes, and now that you've beaten those 2... You're Rank #4, right?" Gateman asked.
Then it hit Roll.... She forgot to get Mistman's Rank!!!!!!!!!!!
"Oh no!!!" Roll cried. "I took Bowlman's, but not Mistman's!!!!"
"Oh darn...." Zero groaned.
"The you have to defeat Rank #5..." Serenade sighed.
"Who is Rank #5?" Megaman asked.
"Me." Zero said. "I'm Rank #5...."
Roll panicked. "I have to defeat Zero???"

Chapter Fifteen: Roll VS Roll Roll gulped. She had no idea how to defeat Zero.
"Good luck, Roll!" Megaman cheered.
Marino & Mary were there too.
"Wow, so Roll was chosen by Serenade herself?" Marino asked.
"How'd you 2 figure it out?" Protoman asked.
"Serenade explained everything to us while you were gone." Mary explained.
"Serenade, Rank #8 was deleted by one of Sigma's followers..." Megaman said.
"I know..." Serenade said. "Marino, Mary.... You 2 have shown much potential..."
"Lord?" Mary asked.
"How would you both like to be Rank #8?" Serenade asked.
"We can?!?" Marino asked.
"Oh Lord S!!" Mary cried.
Serenade smiled. "Sure..."
"Mayl, are you there?" Roll asked.
"Right here Roll!" Mayl cried.
"Looks like Serenade's program did work!" Megaman cried.
Roll knew there was no way out of this fight, but she felt a little better with Mayl at her side.
"Let's do it!" Roll cried.
Zero came dashing forward towards Roll.
"Boybomb, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw a chip into her PET.
A small bomb appeared in Roll's hand, she quickly threw it. The bomb missed Zero, and crashed to the ground. But the explosion hit Zero from behind!
"Bub-V, Battle Chip in!" Mayl installed another chip.
Roll fired a burst of water at Zero. But Zero charged through the water and slashed Roll!
"Barrier, Battle Chip in!" Mayl hurried to throw in the next chip.
A small barrier appeared around Roll, but was gone in an instant with a slash of Zero's sword.
"Yikes!" Roll cried, trying to avoid Zero's sword.
But Zero was attacking so fast, he hit Roll with his sword, then kicked her to the side.
"Quake, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in another chip.
A large virus appeared over Zero's head. It started to fall towards Zero! Zero stuck his sword up and deleted the virus.
"Now's my chance!" Roll pulled out the Muramasa Sword and slashed Zero.
But Zero was still standing, and whacked Roll with his sword.
"The Muramasa's power is only equal to the health you've lost..." Zero reminded Roll.
"He's right..." Roll thought to herself. "I've only taken a few hits... It's not enough!"
Zero was coming after her again, Roll tried to think fast.
"I maybe need more damage.... That's it!" Roll cried. "Mayl, send me an Anti Sword & a Wide Sword chips!"
"What?!?" Mayl cried. "But then you'll..."
"I know, just do it!" Roll yelled.
"Okay, Anti Sword, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in the chip.
The chip activated just as Zero was ready to attack with his sword again. He tried to slash Roll, but his attack reversed and hit him!
"Wide Sword, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in another chip.
Roll's arm turned into a sword. She tried to use it, but the sword's attack hit herself!
"What is she doing?" Copyman asked. "Is she trying to give up?"
"She's lowering her HP!!" Serenade cried. "So she can use the Muramasa Sword!!"
Then Roll used her antennas to grab Zero's sword. She pulled the sword into herself, causing major damage!
"What do you think you're doing?" Zero asked.
"THIS!!!" Roll slashed Zero with all her might using the Muramasa Sword.
Zero was stuck because Roll was holding onto his sword with her antennas. SLICE!! SAWASH!!! Zero collapsed. Roll could barely stand up, she almost passed out.
"I better heal her!" Cinnamon ran up to Roll and healed her.
Zero stood up. He handed Roll his Rank #5. "You've earned it, Roll...."
Roll smiled. "Thank you, Zero."
"Well get ready!" Copyman said. "Because I'm next!"
"You?!?" Roll cried.
"Yeah, I'm Rank #3, remember?" Copyman asked.
"I guess I forgot..." Roll said.
Copyman still looked like Roll.
"Do you have to fight me as myself?" Roll asked.
"That's part of the challenge..." Serenade explained. "Copyman has all your powers, and has had a little time to learn some of them. You can only be a high Ranked Navi, if you can defeat yourself..."
"So it's you & me Roll..." Copyman said.
"Very well..." Roll groaned.
"Roll VS Roll? This is interesting...." Megaman said. "I just hope Roll's okay...."
Roll started this fight. She launched her Heart Slash Attack at Copyman. Copyman fired a Roll Arrow. The 2 threw all of Roll's attacks at each other.
"Face it, we're evenly matched Roll!" Copyman said. "I can do everything you can!"
"First of all, you can't do everything I can..." Roll said. "Second, unlike you, I'm not alone. I have Mayl!"
"Right! Aqua Sword, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw a chip into her PET.
Roll spun the blade around. Copyman got attacked by water.
"Red Wave, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in another chip.
A red wave of water crashed down onto Copyman.
"How is she??" Copyman cried.
"Like I said, I've got Mayl with me now, so I'm stronger than before!" Roll cried.
"Let's see you handle this!" Copyman cried. "Candle, and Shadow!"
A candle appeared in a corner, and Copyman disappeared.
"Great... A Shadow Chip...." Roll growled. "I can't see him!"
"But I can see you!" Copyman cried.
Copyman came out of hiding and slashed Roll's back with a sword, then he disappeared again.
"Darn it!" Roll yelled.
"That candle's recovering his energy!" Mayl warned.
"Got it! Roll Arrow!" Roll shot an arrow at the candle. The arrow destroyed the candle.
"No matter, I got enough of my HP back!" Copyman said.
"Mayl, Sword Chips are best against a Shadow Chip..." Mr. Famous said.
"Thanks! Okay Roll, let's do it!" Mayl cried. "Program Advance: Element Sword!"
Mayl threw 4 chips into her PET. "Fire Sword, Aqua Sword, Electric Sword, Bamboo Sword!"
Roll felt the 4 swords combine in her hand. She waited for her chance to strike. Copyman jumped out from hiding behind her, ready to attack again.
"Area Grab!" Mayl threw another chip into her PET.
Roll quickly appeared behind Copyman. She used the Element Sword, which caused her arm to swing 4 times. She swung the swords so fast, she couldn't even see her arm. WHACK! SLAM! SLICE!! Copyman's data broke apart. All that was left was some floating blue pieces in the air.
"Oh my, did I delete him??" Roll cried. "I-I didn't mean to..."
"It's okay Roll..." Serenade said. "That's Copyman's true form... He told you he didn't have a Navi form, except that of any Navi he takes the appearance of. That's because he was created from temporary data..."
The pieces merged back together. Copyman was back, still looking like Roll.
"Ugh.... I HATE when that happens..." Copyman groaned.
"You're alive!" Roll cried.
"Of course I am..." Copyman said. "I actually can't be deleted, being temporary data and all.... My data just breaks apart and reassembles again..."
Copyman handed Roll Rank #3. "Take it Roll... You beat me... And good work too, Mayl..."
Mayl smiled. "Thanks..."
"Wow, you've reached Rank #3!" Punk cried.
"Punk, where have you been?" Megaman asked.
"Checking around with Chief R if there were anymore of Sigma's Navis around..." Punk explained.
"The place seems clear, no bad-guys around." Spider said.
"Spider?!?" Marino blushed. "Wha-what are you doing here?"
"Probably to see what reward he could get if he caught one of those bozos for Lord S..." Mary groaned.
"You should know me better than that, Mary..." Spider said.
"Why are you here?" Marino asked.
"I was wondering where you went to." Spider said. "After the tournament, you 2 disappeared along with Roll... Teal said I'd find you here."
"Blabber-mouth..." Mary grumbled. "I'm gonna get Teal later..."
"So Roll, are you ready for the next challenge?" Serenade asked.
"I'm ready..." Roll nodded.
"Well, I'm Rank #2, Chief R." Chief R explained. "But I'm not much of the combat type. Instead, I'd like you to retrieve something for me."
"What is it?" Roll asked.
"Just an item in the UnderNet..." Chief R said. "It's in a purple data cube.... Just find it, and you can have my rank... You can take your friends along, if you wish."
"Okay...." Roll said.
"We'll help you look, Roll!" Megaman said.
"Us too!" Mary & Marino cried.
"Tweet! Tweet!" Beat chirped.
"Oh heck, it's better than standing around here!" Protoman grumbled.
"We'll come!" Kendoman & Punk cried.
"Me too..." Spider said. "I love hunting for treasure!"
"And I'll come as well..." Zero said. "Just incase there's another attack by Sigma's followers."
"I should come too..." Copyman said. "I'm a good decoy so Roll might not get attacked..."
"Then let's go!" Roll cried.
"Good luck Roll...." Serenade said. "I pray you can make it through this....." Chapter Sixteen: Search Through the Net "Megam..... Meg.... Megaman, can you.... Hear... Me?" Lan's voice could barely be heard.
"The connection to the PETs are getting worse..." Roll said.
"Lan, I can barely hear you!" Megaman called out.
"The PET's signal comes in and.... Out...." Lan's voice was heard a little better this time.
"We can hear you just fine." Mayl said.
"Well I hope that stays the same..." Megaman said.
"If the connection completely goes, they won't be able to send you Battle Chips..." Zero said.
"Let's just hope that doesn't happen..." Protoman said.
"What's that?" Roll asked.
There was a strange light ahead. Roll started running towards it.
"Roll, don't!!" Copyman screamed.
RRRUUUMMMBLLEEE!! The whole area started shaking. Roll lost her balance. Suddenly, the floor cracked out from under her. Roll started falling!
"ROLL!!!" Megaman cried.
"TWEET!!!" Beat swooped down and caught Roll by one of her antennas.
"I've got to help her!" Megaman cried.
"No Megaman, you'll fall too!" Zero cried.
Zero was right. There was a huge gap between them, as long as a wide bridge. Beat barely pulled Roll to the other side.
"There's no way we can reach you from here!" Marino called out.
"Try to find a way around!" Roll said. "I'm going to look here to see if I can find the data cube!"
"Be careful, Roll!" Mary said.
Megaman and the others tried to hurry around.
"Isn't there another way across?" Megaman asked.
"Only the long way, hurry!" Zero said.
Then, a large Navi appeared. He fired a shot at Copyman.
"So you're the great threat to Master Sigma?" the Navi asked. "No match for me, Byte!"
"You got the WRONG ONE!!" Spider joked, throwing an exploding card at Byte.
"Looks like Serenade was right, Sigma still has followers around..." Zero said.
"We let's take him! Energy Bomb, Battle Chip in!" Lan threw a chip into his PET.
A small gray & orange bomb appeared in Megaman's hand. He threw it at Byte. BOOM!! Byte caught it with his hand.
"Hmm... Darn..." Byte grumbled. "I guess Bit will get the real one then..."
"Let's see him handle this! Lock-On, Battle Chip in!" Lan threw another chip into his PET.
But nothing happened.....
"Lan, where's the chip?" Megaman asked.
"The PET's not responding!" Lan cried.
"Mine isn't either!" Mr. Famous cried.
"Great, so how do we help them now?" Chaud asked.
"Z-Saber!" Zero slashed Byte.
"Marino Stamp!" Marino kicked Byte.
Mary finished off Byte with her sickle. Byte disappeared.
"Is he deleted?" Copyman asked.
"I think so..." Zero said. "But let's hurry to Roll!"
Back over by Roll....
"Tweet!" Beat flew over to a strange-looking object.
"What is it, Beat?" Roll asked.
It was a purple data cube!
"I found it!" Roll cried.
"So you're looking for this?" a yellow Navi asked.
"Who are you?" Roll asked.
"The name's Bit..." the Navi said. "I'm one of Sigma's best Navis of Darkness!"
"Oh, not another one!" Roll groaned. "I thought there were only 8 of you! There's more like 15-20!!"
"There are 16 of us, actually... The 8 are only the idiots that were from Dr. Cain!" Bit explained. "The rest of us are others he found in the UnderNet!"
Bit fired a buster at Roll. She dodged and used her Heart Slash. But threw up a shield.
"You can't beat me with such simple attacks!" Bit said.
Beat slammed into Bit, causing him to drop his shield.
"Roll Arrow!" Roll fired the heart arrow at Bit.
WHACK! It hit Bit right in the face.
"Darn it!!" Bit screamed. "Byte, where are you?!?"
Byte appeared. "Oh, is this the real one?"
"What ARE you talking about?" Bit asked.
"Never mind..." Byte said.
"Roll!" Megaman & the others had caught up.
"It's time!" Bit cried.
"Bit & Byte combine!" Byte cried.
Bit & Byte's bodies merged into one huge Navi. It fired a large beam at the group. BOOM!! Roll slammed into everyone.
"Yikes!" Mary cried. "What IS that thing??"
"I'm more worried about it attacking again!" Kendoman said.
"How do we fight that?" Punk asked.
"This way!" Spider cried.
Spider threw a deck of cards at Bit & Byte. The deck exploded.
"Now Roll!" Spider cried.
"Cloud, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in a chip. "Please work!"
A cloud appeared over Bit & Byte's head. It started raining from the cloud.
"Binder, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw in another chip.
A virus that looked like a music note appeared. Roll jumped onto it. The Binder started bouncing up and down, then Roll jumped to the cloud.
"Here goes!" Roll cried, jumping from the cloud.
Roll pulled out the Muramasa Sword, and slashed Bit & Byte. The huge Navi toppled over, broke up back into the 2 Navis.
"Royal Flush!" Spider cried, throwing 5 cards at Bit & Byte.
The cards set off a huge explosion. BOOM!! Bit & Byte were deleted!
"Not bad, Spider..." Mary said.
"Hmm..." Roll was thinking.
"What is it, Roll?" Protoman asked.
"Well... Bit said there were 16 Navis of Darkness in total..." Roll said. "How many have we deleted?"
"Well, there's the first 8 Navis from Dr. Cain..." Megaman said.
"Vile was in the tournament." Zero said.
"Serges, Violen & Agile attacked me & Megaman behind the stadium..." Copyman said.
"Ferham deleted Rank #8..." Roll said.
"And you just deleted Bit & Byte...." Mary said.
"That's only 15...." Mayl said.
"So where's the last 1?" Punk asked.
"Maybe Sigma is the last one?" Marino asked.
"I guess he could call himself one of the Navis of Darkness...." Lan said.
"Well... Does it matter now?" Spider asked. "I mean, shouldn't we worry about that data cube?"
"I guess so." Megaman said.
Roll grabbed the purple data cube. "Now let's head back to Chief R!"
"And if anymore bozos try, I've still got plenty more cards to blow them away!" Spider said.
Marino blushed. "Wow.... I didn't know you could do that...."
"It's no trouble..." Spider said.
"Thanks for helping Spider..." Roll said.
"No need for thanks..." Spider said. "Just hand over the data cube!"
Spider threw a card at Roll. It exploded, and Spider grabbed the data cube.
"Spider.... Why?!?" Marino cried.
"I wasn't going to let those 2 morons get the rank...." Spider said. "I want my bounty from Sigma, after all!"
"You mean you're...." Copyman said.
Spider smiled. "Yep... I'm the final Navi of Darkness....." Chapter Seventeen: Enter Sigma, the Battle With S! Marino stood completely shocked. "Spider.... Say it isn't so...."
"I KNEW there was something I didn't like about that CREEP!" Mary remarked.
"Now I'll just leave with this and get my pay!" Spider threw a bunch of cards at everyone.
The cards exploded. Nobody could see anything.
"You're not going anywhere!" Mary jumped up and whacked Spider with her sickle.
"You're always the tough one, Mary!" Spider growled.
"I had hoped for Marino's sake, that you're weren't no good..." Mary said. "But I was right... I wish you had proved me wrong...."
"Sorry to disappoint you." Spider said.
"Marino?" Roll tried to see if Marino was ok.
Marino didn't answer, she looked like she was ready to cry.
Spider knocked Mary's sickle out of her hands and pointed it at her neck. "I've been waiting to do this..."
"SPIDER!!" Marino screamed. "Please, no!!!"
Spider loosed his grip. "Marino........ Come with me...."
"Marino, he's trying to use you!" Mary yelled. "Don't fall for it!"
"Spider...." Marino said.
"I don't want to see Master Sigma delete you...." Spider said. "We can live together once this is over, Sigma will make sure nothing will bother us for helping him!"
"Sigma will deleted you once you serve your purpose..." Zero said.
"Spider..." Marino said. "I'll go with you..."
"Marino, no!!!" Roll cried.
"But you have to let them live!" Marino yelled.
Spider lowered Mary's sickle. "No.... Join me or die with them!"
Marino jumped into Spider's arms. "I..... I love you!!"
Spider was shocked for a minute, but then he felt something go through him. Marino stabbed Spider with her sword.
Marino was crying. "I love you.... But I can't let you delete my friends!"
Spider collapsed to the ground, his data began to break apart.
"Spider...." Marino's tears wouldn't stop. "I'm sorry...."
"I'm sorry... Marino...." Spider said weakly. "That.... Sigma infected me........ I.... Never.... Would have.... Deleted you......"
Spider's final pieces of data broke up. Spider was completely deleted.
"SPIDER!!!!!!!!!!!" Marino screamed louder than ever.
Roll was crying too. "She really did love him...."
Mary put her arm on Marino's shoulder. "I'm sorry, kido..."
"He really wasn't evil...." Copyman said. "Sigma was controlling him."
"Marino, you did the right thing." Megaman said. "You freed him...."
Roll picked up the purple data cube. It was cracked a little.
"Un-oh.... Think Chief R will be mad that it's cracked?" Roll asked.
Then a burst of lit came out of the crack. Soon, the cube was no more.... An shinny object floated in the air. Roll grabbed it. It was Rank #1!!!
"Rank #1!!" Roll cried. "I actually got it!"
"So that's what this challenge was all about?" Megaman asked.
"The search for Rank #1...." Zero said. "That's why Sigma sent his remaining followers after Roll."
"Well now that you have it, let's hurry back to Serenade!" Protoman said.
Roll nodded, but suddenly the area grew darker than ever. A strange black cloud of data appeared. A Navi emerged from the cloud.
"I want that Rank...." the Navi said.
"Is that?" Megaman asked.
"TWEET!!!!" Beat screamed.
"Sigma?" Roll asked.
Beat nodded, and was flying around like crazy.
"I think Beat's trying to tell us that." Lan said.
"So you're the little pink Navi who's caused all this trouble?" Sigma asked. "You and your friends deleted all of my Navis of Darkness...."
Roll gulped. She didn't know what to do, but she had to protect the Rank #1!
"Seeing you, I wonder how the in world did those idiots lose?" Sigma laughed. "Those weak morons!"
"Morons??" Megaman growled. "They gave their lives for your cause!!!"
"They were just a bunch of useless Navis..." Sigma said.
"How dare you!" Roll screamed.
"Now, are you going to give me the Rank, or not?" Sigma asked.
"NEVER!!" Roll yelled.
"Then I'll have to take it!" Sigma hurled a huge blast of energy at Roll.
"Roll, look out!" Megaman cried, jumping in front of Roll.
Megaman took the hit with Roll. They both crashed to the other side of the area.
"Megaman! Roll!" Lan cried. "We can't do anything?!?"
"Heat Side, Battle Chip in!" Mayl threw a chip into her PET.
But nothing happened.
"Oh no, we've completely lost connection!" Lan cried.
"Not quite..." Chaud said. "We can still see them..."
"You're going to pay for that!" Copyman yelled.
"Oh really?" Sigma fired a shot at Copyman.
BOOM!! Copyman's data broke apart. He slowly pulled himself back together.
"Marino!" Mary cried.
"Let's do it!" Marino cried.
Marino & Mary tried to jump and attack Sigma. But he blasted them before they could even get close.
"Protoman...." Zero said. "Let's try together!"
Protoman nodded.
Protoman & Zero charged in with their swords. Sigma stood still, and grabbed their swords with his hands.
"Do you really think you can delete me?" Sigma laughed.
Sigma crashed both swords, and threw Zero & Protoman into Roll & Megaman.
Kendoman came up behind Sigma, ready to hurl an attack. Sigma threw his arm back, and fired a buster at Kendoman.
BAM!!! Kendoman slammed into Punk.
"Too easy..." Sigma groaned.
"This isn't over!" Roll pulled out the Muramasa Sword.
She jumped right into Sigma, slashing the sword. Sigma snatched the sword in mid air, with Roll still hanging on.
"He.... He stopped it?!?" Roll cried.
"Heh.... This Muramasa Sword worked on those weaklings...." Sigma chuckled. "But it won't work on ME!!!"
Sigma threw Roll back into the group. Then he charged himself up for one more powerful attack.
"Oh no!" Megaman cried. "He's going to fire again!"
Sigma unleashed his attack. Megaman & Roll braced for impact......

Roll opened her eyes. Serenade was in front of her, protecting them with a barrier.
"Serenade!!" Roll cried.
"Are you ok?" Serenade asked. "Sorry I'm late...."
"Where's the others?" Zero asked.
"They're on their way..." Serenade explained. "Sigma blew up most of the path that leads here... And somehow Gateman's gates aren't working..."
"Could that be the Dark Aura I placed in this area?" Sigma asked.
"Sigma, your fight is with me..." Serenade said. "Leave them out of this!"
"So the great 'Lord' of the UnderNet wishes to battle?" Sigma asked.
"You'll regret hurting them!" Serenade yelled.
Sigma hurled another attack at Serenade. Serenade waved her arms up, and reflected the blast back at Sigma. Sigma dodged, and attacked again. Once again Serenade threw the attack back.
"She's just throwing he attack back and forth!" Megaman cried. "Can't she attack?"
"Serenade's only ability is to reflect her opponent's attacks..." Zero explained. "It's her greatest attack, and her greatest weakness...."
"The attacks are only as powerful as the one who sent them." Copyman said.
Roll looked at Serenade and Sigma. The battle seemed endless, neither one was giving in.
"Leave here now, Sigma!" Serenade warned. "And you won't be deleted!"
"I think you have that backwards, S...." Sigma laughed. "I know your weakness!"
Serenade gulped. "What weakness?"
"Oh just THIS!!!" Sigma hurled a blast at Serenade.
Serenade quickly reflected it, but while she was, Sigma hurled a more powerful blast of energy at Roll, Megaman & the others.
"Oh no!!!" Serenade cried.
Serenade quickly jumped in front of the blast, but she couldn't block it in time.
BLAST!!!!!!! Serenade took the full blow. BOOM!!
"SERENADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Roll screamed. Chapter Eighteen: Roll's Final Stand Roll held her breath. Serenade couldn't possibly be deleted!!
"Serenade!!" Roll called out.
"Lord S!!" Copyman screamed.
The smoke cleared, Serenade was still in the air!
"Serenade!!!!" Roll cried.
But Serenade looked hurt, bad! Her right arm was breaking up into data particles.
"Look at the great lord, now!" Sigma laughed. "You'd give your life for these Navis?"
"I dragged them into this...." Serenade said. "I'll get them out of it!!!"
Sigma smiled. "Then you'll die!"
Sigma lunged out and grabbed Serenade. He hurled another blast into her, at close range. BOOM!!! Serenade crashed to the ground.
"Serenade, I'll protect you!" Zero cried, jumping out to attack Sigma.
"You again?" Sigma groaned, throwing an energy ball at Zero.
WHAM!! Zero slammed into Copyman, Protoman, Kendoman, Marino, Mary, & Punk.
"Roll, let's get him!" Megaman cried.
Megaman fired his buster. Roll used her Roll Arrow. DING!! Both blasts bounced off Sigma.
"Pathetic...." Sigma said.
Sigma hurled another blast at both Megaman & Roll. Megaman grabbed Roll, and tried to protect her. BAM!!! The 2 Navis were thrown to the ground by the blast.
"Leave.... Them... ALONE!!!" Serenade barely pulled herself up.
"You're STILL alive?" Sigma asked. "Can't you die?"
Serenade flew up and slammed into Sigma.
"You think you can still take me on?" Sigma asked.
"Roll.... The Muramasa Sword!" Serenade call out.
"Here!" Roll threw the sword to Serenade.
Serenade caught it with the only arm she had left. She charged into Sigma, attacking with all her might.
WHACK!! SLASH!!! Sigma took major damage. He crashed to the ground. He appeared defeated.
"Serenade! Is he?" Megaman asked.
Serenade didn't say anything, she fell to the ground. Megaman & Roll caught her.
"Serenade!!" Roll cried. "Serenade!!"
Serenade slowly opened her eyes. "Roll........"
"Serenade, are you ok?" Megaman asked.
"Roll, I'm sorry I dragged you into this...." Serenade said, weakly.
"It's ok...." Roll said. "So I'm Rank #1, now?" Roll asked.
Serenade nodded. "It's the rank right under my own... Rank S....."
"So you hid it in the data cube hoping Sigma wouldn't look for it there?" Megaman asked.
Serenade nodded. "Yes, if he found out, he'd only would think that it was Rank #2...."
Serenade's data seemed to be fading.
"Serenade, stay with us!" Roll cried.
"It'll be ok...." Serenade said. "I........."
Serenade couldn't get her last words out, her data broke into thousands of pieces. The pieces floated through the air until they disappeared.
"Serenade!!!!" Roll cried.
Roll started crying. She fell to the ground. Megaman tried to comfort her.
"Roll... There was nothing you could have done..." Megaman said.
"It was because of me she's gone now!" Roll cried. "She gave her life to save us because I wasn't strong enough!"
"So the great Serenade is no more...." a dark, looming voice said.
Roll & Megaman spun around. Right before a huge blast of energy hit them! It was Sigma!!
"He's still alive?!?" Megaman cried.
Suddenly, a few blasts came out of nowhere. It was Gateman, Chief R, Cinnamon, Teal & Russell!
"They're here!" Megaman cried.
"Where's Lord S?" Gateman growled.
"Your lord is no more..." Sigma laughed.
"He couldn't have...." Cinnamon said.
"You're lying!" Teal yelled.
"It's true..." Megaman said. "He deleted Serenade!"
"Then we'll delete him!!" Chief R declared.
The group rushed to attack Sigma. Sigma just laughed.
"You against me?" Sigma chuckled. "If you have a death wish, and want to join your lord!!"
Sigma spun around in a circle. The ring of energy surrounded him, and blew out and attacked Gateman, Chief R, Cinnamon, Teal & Russell!
"Nooo!!" Roll cried, grabbing the Muramasa Sword.
Roll dashed right into Sigma, slashing with all her might.
CLANG! Sigma caught the sword again. "You don't learn, do you?"
Sigma flung the sword into Roll, and threw her to the ground.
"You'll regret ever trying to attack me!" Sigma said, ready to attack.
Roll couldn't move, she was hurt so badly...
"ROLL!!!" Megaman darted to Roll, and pushed her out of the way.
"How dare you!!" Sigma yelled.
"You leave Roll alone!!!!" Megaman demanded.
"And who are you, boy??" Sigma asked.
"Megaman, don't!!" Lan cried.
"MegaBuster!!!" Megaman charged his buster and fired.
Megaman fired his most powerful shots at Sigma. BOOM! BAM!!! Megaman couldn't see anything.
Then Sigma unleashed a larger blast at Megaman. KA-BOOM!!! Megaman was blown 10 feet away.
"Megaman!!!" Lan cried. "If only I could use the Battle Chips!!!"
"But none of them are going through!" Mr. Famous cried.
"Protoman, get up!!" Chaud screamed.
But the other Navis didn't answer. They seemed all paralyzed from Sigma's attacks.
"So, little blue boy..." Sigma laughed. "You wish for me to kill you first?"
Megaman pulled himself up. "I..... I won't let you... Hurt Roll!!!!"
"Megaman, run!!" Roll pleaded.
"How pathetic..." Sigma laughed again. "You know you're all going to die, anyway.... Why bother?"
"I won't... Go down without a fight!" Megaman declared.
Megaman lunged forward and tried to attack again. Megaman charged up his buster as far as it would go.
"Charge Shot!!!" Megaman fired the blast.
BOOM!! Sigma couldn't be seen past all the smoke. Megaman tried to prepare for another attack.
The smoke cleared, but Sigma wasn't there.
"Where is he?" Lan tried to search on his PET.
"I don't see him..." Megaman said. "Did I do it? Serenade did weaken him a lot...."
But then a tall, dark figure appeared behind Megaman.
"That hurt...." Sigma appeared and blast Megaman.
BANG!!! Megaman was thrown across the area. His health was dropping fast!
"He'll be deleted at this rate!" Mr. Famous cried.
"Can't we do anything?" Mayl asked.
"Both Roll & Megaman's health levels are dangerously low..." Mr. Famous explained. "One more shot, and they're history..."
"What about the others?" Chaud asked. "Why can't they respond?"
"Sigma must have used his virus..." Mr. Famous said.
"Mega... Man..." Roll didn't know what to do.
Megaman couldn't even speak... His data was badly damaged, ready to break apart.
"Aww.... Does the little boy hurt?" Sigma asked. "I'll put you out of your misery...."
Sigma prepared to attack Megaman with his most powerful blast yet. The huge massive charge of black energy formed above his head. Sigma aimed it at Megaman.
"Goodbye, blue boy!" Sigma laughed.
"MEGAMAN!!!!" Roll pulled herself up.
She ran as fast as she could, and threw herself into the blast. BOOM!!! Roll was hit with the full force of the attack! The attack caused the Muramasa & the Rank #1 to fly out of her hand.
"The Rank!!" Sigma cried.
"Roll! NOOO!!!" Megaman cried.
The blast caused the rank to spilt, right in half. The 2 pieces flew in both directions.
Megaman snatched one piece, and Sigma caught the other. Sigma was ready to attack Megaman, but the Muramasa Sword fell right into him!
SLASH!! A big slice appeared on Sigma's Navi symbol. Sigma's data was starting to break up.
"NOO!!! The Muramasa's power was increased because of Roll's damage!!" Sigma cried. "I'll have to repair myself before it's too late! You're lucky, Megaman! But I'll delete you next time! Half a rank should be enough to enter Secret!"
Sigma disappeared, there was no sign of him.
Megaman looked at the broken rank.... How could it split like that? The he remembered, ROLL!!!
Megaman ran to Roll, her body looked worse than his... Roll's legs were gone, and the rest of her body looked barely together.
"She's....... Not going to make it..." Mr. Famous looked at Mayl's PET.
"No! Recover 300, Battle Chip in!" Mayl quickly threw in a chip.
The chip popped back out of the PET. The screen read: "ERROR. CHIP CANNOT BE USED. NO NAVI PRESENT."
Mayl started crying. Her tears ran rapid down her cheeks.
"Ma... Mayl.... I... I'm.... Sorry...." Roll said weakly.
"NO!!! Roll stay here!" Megaman pleaded.
Roll's Navi Symbol was broken, there were only a few pieces of it left.
Megaman tried to think of a way to save Roll. Cinnamon was knocked out because of Sigma's attack. The other Navis still couldn't move, they all seemed unconscious.
Megaman began crying himself. He knew he couldn't save Roll.
Roll pulled herself slowly up. "Me..... Me-g.... Mega- ...... Man........."
"Roll.... Don't..... Don't try to talk..." Megaman sobbed. "We'll find a way to save you!"
"Meg... Megaman......" Roll slowly spoke. "I....... I-I...... I.... L-l... Love...... Y-you......."
Megaman was shocked. Was this what she was trying to tell him before? "Roll......."
Roll gathered the last of her strength, and kissed Megaman.
Slowly, her data broke into tiny pieces. Megaman tried to grab a piece of her data, but it broke into smaller pieces, and floated away.
For a minute.... Megaman watched the pieces of Roll's data disappear, tears running down his cheeks.... Then he let out a scream:
"RRRROOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Chapter Nineteen: Secret KA-CHUNCK!! Mayl dropped her PET to the ground. The screen read: "NET NAVI DELETED"
Mayl's eyes were filled with tears. She ran out of the room crying.
"Mayl, wait!" Lan cried.
Chaud and Mr. Famous stopped him.
"Lan! There's nothing you can do!" Mr. Famous yelled.
"Roll's gone..." Chaud said. "Mayl needs to be alone right now!"
Lan stopped. He knew Chaud was right.
"Megaman needs you right now..." Mr. Famous said. "To stop Sigma!"
Megaman was still crying, holding the half Rank #1 in one hand, and the Muramasa Sword in the other.
Slowly, a wind of data appeared in front of Megaman.
Megaman held his breath. "Roll?"
The data took shape. It was familiar, but it wasn't Roll.
"Serenade??" Megaman cried.
Serenade slowly opened her eyes. "Oh dear... I'm too late...."
"But you were deleted!!" Megaman cried. "I saw you!!!!"
"That was my temporary data, Megaman." Serenade explained. "I told you before my true body is in Secret."
"Of course!" Mr. Famous cried. "Whenever a file is moved, first a copy is made in the new location, the the original is deleted after the transfer is over!"
"So?" Lan asked, confused.
"If the transfer is interrupted, the file just returns to it's original location!" Mr. Famous explained.
"So Serenade just returned to her body in Secret." Chaud said. "But it took a while for her file to re-upload here."
"Too long I'm afraid...." Serenade said. "What happened?"
"Roll's dead...." Megaman sobbed. "And something's wrong with the others."
Serenade looked shocked. She looked over the other Navis.
"Sigma paralyzed them with his virus..." Serenade explained. "If we can delete Sigma, they'll return to normal."
"The rank split in half, too..." Megaman said. "I have one, Sigma got the other...."
"Oh dear..." Serenade said. "Then we must hurry to Secret, do you have the Muramasa Sword?"
Megaman nodded. "But..... Sigma almost deleted me, too..."
"In Secret, I'll be at my full power..." Serenade explained. "I can help you, just help me keep Sigma from reaching the Bug Frag Trader..."
"Bug Frag Trader?" Chaud asked.
"There's a great evil Navi sealed in there..." Serenade explained. "I sealed it years ago.... If Sigma releases it..."
"So that's the real reason Sigma wants to enter Secret?" Lan asked.
"Sigma thinks he can absorb the power of this Navi..." Serenade said. "I doubt it, but he'll release it if he tries...."
"The let's do it!" Lan cried.
"Lan...... You won't be able to see Megaman at all after he enters Secret..." Serenade explained. "Megaman must reach the exit on his own, he can't Jack Out.... All connections to your PET will cut off...."
Megaman grasped the half Rank #1. "I'll do it.... For Roll....."
Serenade nodded. "Very well.... Then let's enter Secret...."
A Remo Gate appeared. "Only Gateman and myself can access these gates... That's why Sigma paralyzed Gateman, because they won't remain sealed, and Sigma may be able to access them...."
Megaman approached the gate. "Aren't you coming?"
Serenade smiled. "Remember, my body is already there!"
Serenade disappeared.
"Megaman....." Lan wasn't sure what to say....
"Lan........ I'll come back, I promise...." Megaman said. "But I have to do this....."
Lan nodded. "Just make sure you come back...."
Megaman smiled, and entered the gate.

As quick as a flash, Megaman was thrown out of the gate, into a new area. Megaman looked around in awe.
Secret was a huge area, the floor was white, but the sky seemed to have rainbow colors, constantly changing.
Megaman looked around to find Serenade, he found her sitting in a chair. Megaman ran up to Serenade, but her eyes were closed.
"Serenade?" Megaman asked. "Are you ok?"
Serenade didn't answer.
"Is she still uploaded in the UnderNet?" Megaman asked. "SERENADE!!!"
Then Megaman heard a laugh behind him. Megaman spun around.
"Sigma!?!" Megaman cried.
"It's no use, she's not operational until she debugs herself." Sigma explained.
"You infected her?!?" Megaman cried.
Sigma laughed. "While she was busy in the UnderNet, her body here is lifeless... It was easy to infect her!"
"How dare you!!" Megaman growled.
"Oh please..." Sigma fired a blast at Megaman.
WHAM!! Megaman was sent flying.
"Don't you know that you're no match for me, yet?" Sigma asked.
"You'll... PAY for killing Roll!!!" Megaman tried to attack Sigma.
"Oh, want to join your girlfriend so soon?" Sigma asked.
Sigma threw Megaman off to the side.
"Now stay back and watch the show like a good boy!" Sigma said.
Sigma approached a purple-blueish object with yellow dots on it.
"What is that thing?" Megaman asked.
"Normally it is used as a Bug Frag Trader..." Sigma explained. "But Serenade uses it to seal a very powerful Navi inside.... The Bug Frags power it so that the Navi can't break free...."
Megaman gulped. "Leave that thing alone!! It'll kill all of us!!!"
"Not if I absorb its power first!" Sigma said.
"It'll kill you before that!" Megaman warned.
"Just stay out of my way!" Sigma fired at Megaman again.
Then Sigma unleashed another huge ball of black energy at the Bug Frag Trader. BOOM!!!!!!! The Bug Frag Trader blew into pieces.
At first, Megaman could only see the remains of the Bug Frag Trader... Was it a fake?
Then a whirlwind of black energy whipped around the area. The energy formed a black Navi with orange fins on its head. A brown cape covered the Navi. Megaman knew who it was.
"BASS!!!!!!!!!" Megaman cried. "It can't be!!!"
Sigma roared a laugh. "The great Net Navi.... The Black Shadow of the Net..... Bass!!!"
Bass didn't say anything, he just stood there.
"Now Bass..." Sigma said. "Your power is mine!"
Sigma tried to grab Bass, but Bass snatched his hand.
"Why did you disturb me?" Bass asked. "HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!"
With a flick of Bass' hand, Sigma was blown all the way to Megaman.
"What did you do?" Megaman asked.
"This is going to be a little harder than I thought...." Sigma said. "I'll just have to battle him to weaken him first!"
"Battle?" Bass asked. "You want battle??"
Bass held out his hand. Sparks of dark purple energy filled his arm. The energy formed a large energy ball. Bass hurled the ball at Sigma.
BOOM!!!! Sigma's right arm was blown off. Particles of data floated around Sigma's right side.
"Un-oh..." Megaman gulped.
"Grr..... Darn it!" Sigma growled.
"You're not worth my time..." Bass said.
"We'll see about that!!" Sigma hurled his own energy balls at Bass.
Bass easily avoided each and every one of Sigma's attacks.
"Your aim sucks..." Megaman groaned.
"I don't see you attacking him, blue boy!!!" Sigma barked.
"I'm not the moron that set him free!" Megaman snapped.
Sigma didn't notice Bass was close to him. Sigma spun around and faced Bass.
"You're too naive..." Bass said. "That's your weakness..."
"Take this!!" Sigma hurled another attack, his most powerful at Bass.
BOOM!!! Bass couldn't be seen for a second. Then Megaman spotted him.
Bass flew up above Sigma. Then a huge energy filled one hand, the other turned into the shape of a dog head.
Megaman knew what was next, he ran out of firing range, and grabbed Serenade.
"Gospel Blast!!" Bass' hand shaped like a dog head fired.
BLAST!! Sigma's legs broke up. Sigma crashed to the ground.
"No.... This can't... BE!!!" Sigma cried.
"Drop dead...." Bass said. "GIGA BREAKER!!!!"
Bass hurled his hand to the ground. The largest blast of energy Megaman had ever seen collided into Sigma.
BOOOMMM!!!! Sigma's body broke into tiny pieces, he was finally deleted!!
The half Rank #1 fell to the ground. Megaman quickly grabbed it and put the 2 half's back together.
"He's gone...." Megaman said. "Roll........"
Bass turned to Megaman. "What are you doing here?"
"Bass......" Megaman didn't know what to do now.
"I've been stuck in that object for quite awhile because of Serenade..." Bass explained. "She didn't like the idea of me crashing the Cyber-Matrix...."
"Bass..... Sigma's gone.... You don't have to..." Megaman said.
Bass hurled a purple energy ball at Megaman. Megaman jumped out of the way.
"Are you challenging me?" Bass asked.
"No! I don't want to fight!" Megaman yelled.
"Well I do!!!" Bass exclaimed. "I've been locked up for far too long! I will finally get my revenge!!!"

Chapter Twenty: Bass GS VS Serenade Soul Back in the real world, Lan kept pacing around.
"I've never felt so darn helpless!" Lan cried.
"We have to wait..." Chaud said.
"Just believe in Megaman..." Mr. Famous said.
Suddenly, the Navis in the UnderNet began moving again.
"Chaud sir... What happened?" Protoman asked.
"Protoman?!?" Chaud cried. "You're back!!"
"Where's Megaman?" Zero asked.
"And Roll?" Copyman asked.
"What happened?" Gateman asked.
"Sigma's Virus is gone!!" Lan cried. "Megaman did it!!!"
"But why isn't he back yet?" Mr. Famous asked.
"Unn..... What are you talking about?" Russell asked.
"Last thing I remember is getting our buts kicked by that Sigma..." Marino groaned.
"But if his virus is gone...." Teal said. "He must be deleted..."
"Megaman & Serenade went into Secret..." Lan explained.
"So why haven't Megaman & Lord S come back?" Chief R asked.
"S? But I thought she was deleted..." Mary said.
"No, that's what I was trying to tell you before..." Zero explained. "Lord S can only be deleted in Secret, because that's were her true body is..."
"Something must have gone wrong...." Punk said. "Otherwise, where are they?"
"And what happened to Roll?" Kendoman asked.
"Roll's.......... Roll was deleted..." Lan explained.

Back in Secret:
Bass kept on hurling attacks at Megaman.
"Bass, can't we work this out?" Megaman asked.
"Sure.... STAND STILL!!!" Bass yelled.
"Forget it... He's beyond help..." Megaman groaned.
But Bass' next attack hit Megaman hard! Megaman was still suffering from Sigma's earlier attacks.
"The Muramasa!" Megaman cried.
Megaman grabbed the Muramasa Sword and charged towards Bass.
Bass hurled the Giga Breaker at Megaman. BOOM!!! Bass' attack destroyed the Muramasa Sword!!!
"Now to finally deleted you!" Bass cried.
Bass prepared the Giga Breaker again.
"I don't think so!" a voice cried.
The Giga Breaker reflected, and hit Bass.
"Serenade!!!" Megaman cried.
Sorry it took so long to de-bug myself." Serenade said.
"Sigma's gone..." Megaman explained. "Bass deleted him."
"So that's why the effects of the virus disappeared..." Serenade said.
"Serenade...." Bass growled. "You've gotten in my way one too many times!"
"Be a good boy and go back into confinement where you belong!" Serenade demanded.
"Not this time!" Bass cried. "I'll gain your power!!!"
Bass lunged towards Serenade. She reflected his blast each attack, but she was trying to protect Megaman at the same time.
"Bass & Serenade are close in strength..." Megaman thought to himself. "But Serenade must be weakened from Sigma's Virus right now...."
Bass got one Giga Breaker in-between his attacks. Serenade was hit, she came crashing down into Megaman.
"Serenade!!" Megaman cried.
"... Ugh.... Megaman, you have to stop him..." Serenade said. "I'll... Give you a program to help..."
Serenade's body glowed and turned into a beam of light. The light filled Megaman's Navi Symbol.
Megaman's Navi Symbol lit up. He felt a new power surround him. When Megaman opened his eyes, he looked a lot like Serenade!!
"Soul Union: Serenade Soul!!" Megaman cried.
Megaman had gained the power of Soul Union before, each time he became close to a friend in peril, they gave him some of their power, causing the Soul Union.... But Megaman was surprised that Serenade gave Megaman some of her power.
"Use my power..." Serenade's voice boomed in Megaman's head. "Stop Bass...."
Megaman nodded. "I'll do my best, Serenade!!"
"You'll die!!" Bass charged himself up.
A strange glow surrounded Bass, he looked a little different.
"What's happening?" Megaman asked.
"He's becoming more powerful." Serenade explained. "He's become Bass GS!!"
"That could be a problem...." Megaman gulped.
Bass charged a huge attack and threw it at Megaman.
"What do I do??" Megaman held his arms up.
As Megaman moved his hands, Bass attack reflected!!
"Oh, that's right I have Serenade's powers!!" Megaman cried. "So now I can reflect his attack!!"
"Try to reflect this!!!" Bass fired an even more powerful Giga Breaker than before.
Megaman quickly waved his arms. The blast once again reflected back at Bass.
BOOM!!! Bass was his by his own attack. Bass grew angry, firing one attack after another.
Megaman panicked. He wasn't sure if he could keep this up.
"Aim at his Navi Symbol..." Serenade's voice cried.
Megaman looked. Bass' cape wasn't covering his sliced Navi Symbol anymore.
"Got it!" Megaman cried, reflecting Bass next attack.
BAM!!! The blast hit right in the center of Bass' Navi Symbol.
"UGH!!!" Bass groaned. "You'll pay for that!!!"
Bass charged up his Giga Breaker. It was the most powerful Megaman had ever seen Bass. Bass hurled the attack at Megaman. Megaman wasn't sure if he could reflect it!!
"Megaman, now!!" Serenade cried. "I'm with you!!"
Megaman nodded. He charged towards the attack, and held his arms out. With all his might, Megaman threw the Giga Breaker attack back at Bass.
KA-BOOM!!!!!!!!! Bass was hit!! A huge smoke data covered the blast area.
Megaman collapsed to the ground. His Soul Union broke apart, Serenade appeared next to him.
Serenade pulled Megaman up. "Are you ok?"
Megaman nodded. "What happened? Where's Bass?"
Serenade pointed at the blast sight. There was a statue that looked a lot like Bass.
"What the?" Megaman asked.
"You sealed Bass back up..." Serenade explained. "It's for the best too, since because Bass deleted Sigma, he absorbed Sigma, this way both of them are sealed in Secret..."
Megaman sighed. "Does that mean.... It's finally over?"
Serenade nodded. "Yes... Sigma is gone, and Bass is defeated...."
Megaman sighed and looked at the Rank #1. A tear fell down his cheek. "We did it, Roll......."

Chapter Twenty-One: Resurrect Roll!! 2 Months have passed since the UnderNet Tournament....
Dr. Cain joined Dr. Hikari in Sci Lab, as an extra researcher.
Serenade continued to maintain the UnderNet, and protect Secret.
Megaman kept the Rank #1, on Serenade's request.
The other Ranks continue to protect the Lord of the UnderNet....
And Mayl........ She tries to get along without her Net Navi, with a little help from Lan...

"Thanks a lot Lan..." Mayl said.
"I don't know what to do, Mayl..." Lan sighed. "Ms. Mari said you need a Navi for the 6th Grade..."
Mayl sighed. "I know..... I guess I just have to face it...."
"Mayl..." Megaman sighed.
"Dad's working on the new PET..." Lan said. "I'll bring yours to your house tomorrow so you can meet your new Net Navi..."
Mayl smiled. "Thanks Lan... I know your father has been working on a new Navi for me...."
"He didn't want to force one on you..." Lan said. "But it is required in school...."
"Thanks again, Lan..." Mayl said. "For everything... See you tomorrow..."
Lan sighed. "It's not the same without Roll..."
"Yeah...." Megaman said. "I don't think Mayl's ever going to be the same without her...."

Later that night.....
A Remo Gate appeared in Lan's PC. Megaman ran up to it.
Gateman, Zero, & Russell appeared.
"What are you guys doing here?" Megaman asked.
"You have to hurry Megaman, there's no time to explain!" Zero said.
"Serenade's waiting for you in Secret!" Russell said.
"Now come on, let's go!" Gateman cried.
"Whoa, what is this?" Megaman asked. "And shouldn't I tell Lan?"
"Lan can't see you in Secret anyway, the PET cuts off, remember?" Russell pointed out.
"Why worry him?" Gateman asked. "You'll be back hopefully before morning..."
"Well what is this about?" Megaman asked. "Is there trouble?"
"It's about Roll..." Zero explained. "There might just be a way to SAVE her!!!"
Megaman's face lit up. "Roll? You mean it?"
Zero nodded. "Yes, but you have to hurry!!"
Copyman jumped out of the Remo Gate, looking like Megaman.
"I'm here just in case Lan wakes up while you're gone..." Copyman explained. "Now hurry up and save Roll!"
Megaman smiled and jumped into the Remo Gate.

Megaman appeared in Secret. Serenade was standing in front of him.
"Megaman, from here on in it will be a dangerous mission..." Serenade explained. "You have to want to save Roll with all your heart... Are you ready?"
Megaman nodded. "I'll do anything! How is it that we can save her?"
"Roll was deleted in one of the deepest parts of the UnderNet..." Serenade explained. "Very close to Secret..."
"And?" Megaman asked.
"Well, sometimes when data is deleted in the UnderNet, if their data is strong enough, they appear as temporary files deep in Secret..." Serenade explained. "I felt Roll's Data in the recycle area... That's in one of the most protected parts of Secret... Because it's right near the Cyber Matrix..."
"So it we get Roll's Data before it's recycled..." Megaman said.
"We can save her..." Serenade said. "I repaired the Muramasa Sword, and you still have the Rank #1, right?"
"Yes, why?" Megaman asked.
"Because those were the last objects Roll held before she died..." Serenade explained. "They contain some of her data because she was deleted while holding them... We need them to revive her..."
"How do I do that?" Megaman asked.
"Just hold Rank #1 over her broken Navi Symbol, it should repair it, because if I'm right, the Rank #1 should have the missing data pieces..." Serenade said.
It seemed to take forever to walk through Secret. Then they stopped in front of a huge black wall.
"What is that??" Megaman asked.
"One of the protection programs... A Monolith..." Serenade explained. "The only way to destroy is to do THIS!!!"
A huge hammer appeared in Serenade's hands. She whacked the Monolith. It shattered into a hundred pieces.
*Poof* A thousand or more viruses appeared!!
"Un-oh....." Megaman gulped.
"This is what I meant by dangerous..." Serenade said.
The viruses attacked. Megaman tried to defend himself with his MegaBuster, and Serenade protected him as much as she could.
"There's just too many!" Megaman cried. "No wonder Sigma needed Bass' power to reach the Cyber-Matrix!!"
"This is only the 1st program..." Serenade pointed out. "This is only the beginning...."
Suddenly, a spear flew from the sky and deleted a whole row of viruses. Then multiple other attacks combined and deleted the rest.
Megaman spun around. "What the?"
2 large Navis stood behind him. One was dark, covered in a black cape. The other was blue, and looked a lot like a samurai warrior.
"Darkman, Yamatoman!" Serenade cried.
"Who are they?" Megaman asked.
"We are the protectors of the areas of Secret..." Darkman explained.
"Forgive us, Lord S...." Yamatoman bowed. "Sigma got to us before we could protect you... He infected us and we were helpless..."
Serenade smiled. "You helped now, that's all that matters...."
"Thank you, Lord S..." Darkman bowed.
"My real location in Secret is near the Cyber-Matrix, Darkman & Yamatoman protect the barriers that lead there..." Serenade explained. "Can you help us reach the Recycle Area?"
Yamatoman nodded. "Of course, Lord S..."
"You wish to recover the data we noticed there?" Darkman asked.
"Yes, but it will take Megaman to recover Roll..." Serenade said.
"Me?" Megaman asked.
"Megaman, you have to want to bring Roll back with all your heart..." Serenade said. "At any cost at all.... It's the only way to fully recover her data.... I just hope that we're not too late..."

After a very long journey past all the protection programs, they reached the Recycle Area....
Megaman tried to avoid tripping over piles of junk data and wrecked files.
"So this is where all the deleted data across the entire net goes?" Megaman asked.
Serenade nodded. "Yes. This is why some deleted Navis can be revived...."
Megaman froze. He saw a huge bridge in front of him. Across the bridge was a pile of floating data, it was floating in the air.
"How's it doing that?" Megaman asked.
"That's the pile of data about to be recycled..." Darkman explained.
"Hey, there's something in there..." Yamatoman pointed.
Megaman looked. There was a pink Navi floating in the data. The Navi's data was breaking apart slowly.... It was Roll!!!

Chapter Twenty-Two: The Power of Love "Roll!!!" Megaman cried.
"Megaman, watch it!" Serenade grabbed Megaman's shoulder. "One false step, and you'll get caught in the recycle circle..."
Megaman looked around. All the data around them was being eaten up. The data was all disappearing!
"We have to hurry!" Megaman cried. "Or Roll will be gone forever!!"
"Okay, but let's think this through..." Serenade said.
"Not so fast!!" a Navi that looked a lot like a shark appeared.
"Who are you?" Megaman asked.
"I am Metal Shark Player!" the Navi answered. "I am in charge of recycling the old and deleted data here!"
"Well you're not getting Roll!!" Megaman declared.
"Calm down, Megaman!" Serenade yelled. "Metal Shark Player, we need that Navi in there... She wasn't meant to be deleted..."
"She got deleted, that's her problem..." Metal Shark Player growled. "No one touches this data! I'm to make sure of that, so that extra viruses don't get loose!!"
"But this is Lord Serenade!!" Darkman yelled. "Show some respect!!"
"Lord Garbage, I don't give a scrap metal who you are!" Metal Shark Player roared. "I was created out of the old recycled data in this area, so I protect it!!"
"This guy's getting on my nerves..." Serenade grumbled.
"He does not know of the Lord of the UnderNet?" Yamatoman asked.
"I don't care if you're the Lord of the Entire Net!!" Metal Shark Player barked. "You're NOT getting past me!!!"
"I won't lose Roll again!!" Megaman screamed, firing his buster.
The blasts bounced off Metal Shark Player.
"Heh... Is that all you've got?" Metal Shark Player laughed.
Metal Shark Player threw a bundle of junk data at Megaman. POW!!! Megaman crashed into Yamatoman.
"Oh that does it!" Serenade growled.
"No!" Megaman yelled. "I have to save Roll!! If you attack him, you might miss and hit Roll!!"
Serenade thought about it. It's true that Roll was in firing path.
"So how do you plan on going about this?" Serenade asked.
"Maybe a little Soul Union power?" Megaman asked.
Serenade winked. "I get where you're going!"
Megaman's Navi Symbol lit up. Megaman gained the Serenade Soul again.
"So now he turned into a copy of the lordie girl?" Metal Shark Player asked. "How's that gonna help?"
"How about you try one on me?" Megaman asked.
"If you say so!" Metal Shark Player hurled a blast full of data.
Megaman whirled his hands around, and threw the blast back at Metal Shark Player.
"Ack!! How did you do that??" Metal Shark Player grew angry. He hurled every piece of junk data around at Megaman.
Megaman reflected each one back at Metal Shark Player. WHACK!! BAM!!! SMASH!!!! Metal Shark Player collapsed.
Megaman's Soul Union spilt apart.
"Nice going!" Serenade smiled.
"Okay... You win...." Metal Shark Player groaned.
But it seemed too late!! Roll's body started slipping out of the circle of recycled data, and began falling!!
"We're she going?" Darkman asked.
"She's falling down the tunnel...." Metal Shark Player explained. "It's where all the data goes after it's recycled... She'll be fully deleted once she reaches the end...."
"NOOOOO!!!!" Megaman dove after Roll.
"Megaman, no!!" Serenade cried.
Megaman was falling rapidly. But he had to reach Roll!! Megaman reached out his hand, desperately trying to reach Roll.....
SNATCH!! Megaman got ahold of Roll's antenna! He pulled her up.
"Roll! Roll! Say something!" Megaman yelled.
But Roll didn't respond. Could she be gone?
"I've got to get her back up!" Megaman thought. "But how?"
Suddenly, Megaman felt like he was being carried up. A warm, pink light surrounded him & Roll.
"What's this?" Megaman asked.
Megaman's pack on his back started changing. A jet pack appeared, and a powerful burst came out of it. With the jet pack, Megaman started flying back up to the top. He landed safely back where Serenade was waiting.
Serenade sighed. "Looks like you picked up an extra data file...."
"Data file?" Megaman asked. "Is that where the jet pack came from?"
"Yeah, all you have to do is get near a junk data to download it..." Metal Shark Player explained.
Megaman looked sadly at Roll's lifeless body. "Roll?"
"Megaman, the Rank!" Serenade reminded Megaman.
Megaman held the Rank #1 over Roll's broken Navi Symbol.......
But nothing happened.....
"Roll..." Megaman sobbed. "It can't be..... After everything we've been through? It didn't work....."
Megaman began crying. His tears fell on Roll's Navi Symbol.
Serenade looked like she was going to cry too.
Megaman then slowly lifted Roll's head up, and kissed her. "I...... I love you, Roll.... But I never got to tell you......."
Suddenly, Roll's Navi Symbol lit up. The pieces fused back together, the symbol was whole again!!
"Huh?" Serenade looked.
Roll slowly opened her eyes. Megaman held his breath.
".... Unn..... M... Me... Meg-Megaman??" Roll slowly spoke.
"ROLL!!!!!!!!!" Megaman cried, hugging Roll. "You're alive!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Serenade sighed, and smiled.
"But.... But how?" Roll was confused.
"They say love conquers all...." Serenade said. "What they don't tell you is that love heals all.... I told you Megaman you had to want to bring Roll back with all your heart..."
Megaman smiled. "Yeah, I'm just glad you're back!!"
Roll smiled. "Thanks, Megaman!"
"Well, I think I should get you 2 back to the surface net..." Serenade said. "I think someone's going to be waiting for you..."
Megaman nodded. "Let's finally go home, Roll..."
Roll smiled. "Home....."

The Remo Gate appeared again in Lan's PC. Lan was just getting ready to go to Mayl's House.
"Roll! You're alive!" Copyman cried.
"Anything happen while I was gone?" Megaman asked Copyman.
Copyman shook his head. "Lan doesn't even know you were gone, he's not even quite awake yet...."
"Megaman, what are you doing?" Lan asked.
"Well, I'll see ya guys!" Copyman cried. "And Roll, glad to see you're ok!"
"Hey Lan, are we giving Mayl her new PET today?" Megaman asked.
"Yeah, dad gave it to me last night." Lan said. "But I have to go to Sci Lab to pick up her new Navi... I was thinking of picking up Mayl first, so she can go pick it out herself..."
"I don't think that's necessary, Lan...." Megaman smiled.
"Why?" Lan asked, puzzled. "I know Mayl's not very trilled about getting a new Navi and all...."
"No, I mean I have a Navi that's perfect for her!" Megaman said.
"Hi Lan!" Roll said.
"Roll??? But how??" Lan cried.
"Never mind, I'll explain later, let's hurry to Mayl!" Megaman cried.

Lan hurried down to Mayl's House. He rang the door-bell.
Mayl came down to the door, looking completely depressed.
"Lan..... I really don't feel very well today...." Mayl groaned. "Maybe you can go ahead without me.... I don't think I could pick out a Net Navi...."
"Well, that's what I'm here for..." Lan said. "I have your new PET, and your Net Navi..."
"You do?" Mayl asked.
"Megaman picked her out...." Lan said. "You can thank him..."
Mayl sighed. "Okay, where is it?"
Lan handed Mayl her new PET. It was a new pink one.
"Cute PET..." Mayl sighed. "It's just like.... Roll's colors...."
"Unn... Say hi to your Navi..." Lan couldn't wait for Mayl to see.
Roll appeared on the screen. "Hello Mayl!"
Mayl's eyes lit up. "Roll?"
"It sure is me!" Roll cried. "I hope you've been okay.... Megaman & Serenade saved me..."
"Is it really you?" Mayl asked.
"Diary Entry 088: I've been feeling kinda weird lately, I wonder if Lan ever notices me?" Roll whispered. "I hope that one day we get married and...."
Mayl's face turned bright red. "OK!! OK!!! It is you!!!!!!"
Lan didn't hear what Roll said.
"What's wrong with her?" Lan asked.
Megaman sighed. "No idea, some secret between them...."
Mayl looked like she was crying. Her tears just didn't stop.
"Hey, I thought you'd be happy!" Lan said.
"I am..." Mayl sniffed. "I'm so happy, I'm crying.... I thought I lost Roll forever!"
"It's ok..." Roll said. "I'm back now!!"
"And I'll never lose you again!" Megaman cried.
"There, there.... Stop crying..." Lan said.
"Oh Lan!!" Mayl cried. "Thank you!!!"
Mayl jumped and hugged Lan.
"HEY!!!! Watch it!!!" Lan screamed. "Cut it out!!! I didn't do anything!!!!!"
Megaman & Roll laughed.
"He's real dense, isn't he?" Roll asked.
Megaman nodded. "Yeah.... Roll, I'm really glad you're back...."
Roll blushed. "Really? .... Thanks for saving me, Megaman....."
"I won't lose you again...." Megaman said. "Because.... Well... I..... L-l.... Lo...."
Roll giggled. "I heard you before..... It's ok...."
Roll kissed Megaman. "I love you, Megaman!"
