Who is Zero? Many say he's Protoman. Some say he's Bass. Others say he's a new robot by Wily. What do I think? Zero isn't a he, nor a she for that matter. Zero is an 'it'
"What in the world are you talking about?" You say. It's simple. Who in the original Megaman Series has long blonde hair? Megaman's sister Roll! We all know by now that Megaman X is just Megaman in the future. "But why doesn't he remember anything?" You ask? It's simple. There are 2 theories I have.
#1 When Dr. Cain opened the capsule, Megaman X's memory got erased. (Not impossible, look at Megaman Zero)
#2 Dr. Light deleted the data. Maybe he didn't want Mega to be sad having lost Dr. Light, Roll, and everyone else. It could've made him go mad.
Anyway, back to Zero. Ever since I saw Zero in Megaman X 1 I always thought it was Roll. The long blonde hair gave it away. Also red is Roll's favorite color. Later in X4, I see Wily in a dream talking to Zero. Then it hit me. Zero is Roll and Protoman put together! Now, either Roll and Protoman were blown up before Megaman X was placed in the capsule, or Wily invaded Light's Lab and kidnapped Roll and Protoman, ripped them apart, put 'em back together as one powerful robot. Of course Wily would do something sick like that to torture Megaman. But that explains why Zero can't Kill X. Look at X5. Sure, they had a big fight, but when Sigma was going to kill X, Zero snapped to and jumped in the way. Makes sense because Roll can't kill Mega. Protoman, well he kinda wanted to kill Megaman at one time. Look at the Cartoon Series.... Also explains Zero's mood swings. Sometimes he's always concerned about X (Roll takes over) Other times Zero is dead series and just wants to fight (Protoman takes over) Also look at Protoman EXE in Battle Network. Is Capcom trying to tell us something with the long white hair? Actually, many people say Battle Network can't work with the original series. I say it can. Now of course they say "It takes place during 200X, when Megaman takes place." Not quite. Mega & X both say at the year 'AD'

Megaman Battle Network just says 200X. So it could be ARW or ACI or AEW or something like that. Centuries later than X. If you're wondering what I mean by AR and so I mean:
After Reploid Wars
After Colony Incident
After Elf Wars
It's easy to explain. Megaman X & Zero could have been downloaded before they died and maybe their memory data didn't make it. But their DNA data did. Then Dr. Hikaru found Megaman's DNA Data and placed Hub inside. As for Zero, got spilt into Protoman and Roll again. And as for the Zero EXE, that's either what's left, or it's Gate's Zero Nightmare. Then as for the other bots, who says Wily didn't keep a backup? Makes sense anyway also because there aren't many robots in Battle Net. Maybe they're illegal? After the Reploid Wars, who knows?
As for Legends..... I don't know.... That Could be an alternate reality. Then again it could take place either before or after Battle Network. Before means that the 'Master' found X's body and repaired him, then Megaman got downloaded into data later... After means Megaman EXE was found long after Lan is dead... After all, Capcom doesn't tell you when Legends takes place. Just in the distant future....
In the Megaman NT Warrior Manga, the year is 200X A.D.
That's odd 'cause the AD is before the year and doesn't have periods in-between in the original and X.... Also, they say that a race of humans that had advanced technology and the internet existed in the past, but were wiped out and life started all over. Hmm.... Did the Carbon Rehinislization Program get unleashed? Then it would go from Megaman, to X, to Megaman Zero, to Legends, and finally ends at Battle Network. Makes sense to me!
Anyway, that's what I think of the Megaman Series. If this is true, then ALL the Megaman Series continue into each other. And I still say Zero is Roll and Protoman. Oh! I almost forgot. Doesn't Axl look a lot like Bass?
