This loco was built at Springburn by North British Locomotive Works for South African Railways. It was repatriated to Scotland when it retired. These were the largest steam locos to be made in the UK and runs on 3'6" gauge. It arrived at Summerlee on four (yes 4) heavy articulated low loaders!
