The Titans were a race of Giants which acted like elder gods which ruled the earth before they were overthrown by the Olympians.  They were considered to be personifications of the forces of nature.  They consisted of 12 children (six sons and six daughters)  of Gaea and Uranus who married eachother.  They were: Saturn (Cronus), Rhea, lapetus, Clymene (Themis), Oceanus, Thea (Tethys), Hyperion, Coeus, Phoebe, Mnemosyne, Crius and Theia.

The Olympians are a group of twelve gods who ruled earth after Jupiter overthrew his father, Saturn.  All the Olympians are related in some fashion.  The Olympians got their name from the place in which they presided, Mount Olympus.  The Olympians consisted of Jupiter, Juno (sister and wife), Apollo (son by Leto), Diana (twin to Apollo), Mars (son by Juno), Vulcan (son Juno), Venus, Mercury (son by Maia), Ceres (sister), Neptune (brother), Bacchus (son by Semele) and Minerva (daughter by Metis).
