Jonas Rowland Cemetery
This Cemetery is located in Lee Co Ky. I visited this cemetery
on January 27, 1998 with Ernest Rowland (grandson of Jonas).
Directions to cemetery: From Beattyville go towards Owsley Co Ky
on highway 11 make a left turn off of Highway 11 at
Pine Grove and go about 3 miles and make a right turn down a
small gravel road and go 1.5 miles and on the right side of the road
is a area that has been cleared, at one time this was where Maxie
lived. On the left side of the road is a double metal gate, it is a
old loggers road and there is not a fence, walk up this road about
1/4 mile and at the fork of the road at the top of the hill bear right
and about 20 paces down this road the graveyard is on the left
with a small fence around it. Buried there are Jonas, Mollie and
Maxie. At one time there was also a son buried there but his
wife had him dug up and re-buried in Kansas. This happened
sometime before 1977
