Study areas

Today, Winnipeg boasts of two big campuses for learning basic and higher studies. Both of them are within the city limits and one is actually in the downtown area. High school graduates often go to either one of them if not taking vocational courses. There are also plenty of foreign students studying in these universities and the numbers are growing every semester.

The University of Manitoba is located in one of the spacious districts of the city and normally could be reached by taking Winnipeg Transit buses from downtown. Masteral and doctoral studies are offered along with the baccalaureate courses. The Manitoban is the official organ of the students' association and is published regularly.

The University of Winnipeg is the one located in the downtown area. There are other buildings located near the City Hall and were formed by renovating turn-of-the-century establishments in the Exchange District. The Uniter is the publication of the students' association of the U of W, as the institution is commonly referred to here.

There is a third choice among high school graduates and it is a technical college offering practical experience courses in business, technology and engineering and other trades. It is The Red River College and located west of the downtown area, accessible by taking the Route 19 Transit bus. A lot of businesses send their personnel there to train and re-train on up-to-date practices.

There you go. Visit those online sites and explore courses that you are interested in, and make a decision on whether you want to study in Winnipeg. That's needed to work in Canada and one of the fastest way to get hired locally. I hope these sites help. Bye-bye for now.
