1. Homework - sign copybookevery night, sequence - do it as it is copied.
For example:
Religion copied first, do it first in the copy book. All homeworkexcept for workbooks should be done in homework copybook. Please use the homework copybook as a means of communication between us. If I need to call you at home or set up a meeting just jot a note in the homework copybook. I see the copybook every day.
2. Absent notes, nothing elaborate: Name of child, date(s) absent, reason, and parent signature. Use small sized index card or smalll notepaper. Send back snow emergency note, your child will receive this in school, look for it in the homework copybook.
3. Trip to Academy of Natural Sciences - possible December 4th. Parent Volunteers needed, letter about trip closer to date.
4. Inquiry about your child. Send paper in when finished(these papers were distributed in the classroom.
5. Terra Nova testing, grades 4, 6 and 8 in October.
6. My Journal is a quick day to day log on each child in the room, missing things are noted in the journal. Example: homework not accomplished would be a note edition in my journal. Once a month I obtain a homework and conduct mark based on notes in the journal. A blank page for your child in September will earn a 100 in the subject areas I teach. A blank page for me would indicate that your child has accomplished all that I asked, not just academicallly but behaviorally.
7. New report card - only three marking periods. This will allow teachers to spend more time evaluating each individual child, more time teaching, and less time spent calculating marks.
8. Homework passes good for one night - one subject.
9. Harry Potter movie? Possibility for Chamber of Secrets - November? More information will be available at a later date.
10. Tests marked by me only. Parent - sign them and return them to your child to bring to school, they are kept on file in the classroom.
