![]() .:Arielle Dawson:.Psion Age: 19 Strengths&Powers: Telepathy and Telekinetics (Psion). Strong mental sheild- You cant read her thoughts unless she wants you to. She can control both powers strongly at the same time. She's also physically strong for her size. She knows some martial arts techniques. Stuff she picked up being on the streets when she was a kid. Weaknesses&Restrictions: Using her powers uses much of her energy. If she uses them for too long she could die. For her to read your mind she must be able to see you. Same with moving an object. Also, if she's shot or stabbed she has the same restrictions of any human. Shot in the head/heart = dead, stabbed in the abdomen, heart or head = dead. She can drown, burn to death, freeze to death, die of cancer or AIDS and so on and so on... Anything a human could die from she can die from, unless it envolves her mental poweress. Then she has some resistance. ![]() [Alexis Beddil] Age: 19 Strengths&Powers: She's a teleporter with a strong mental and spiritual bond with her sister. She can travel with the shadows and "appear" in a blast of smoke. She can escape from nearly everywhere. She can use her powers limitlessly. She knows when her sister is in trouble and vise versa. They occasionally finish eachother's sentences and if one were ever to be harmed, the other would know immediately- feeling her sister's pain but without the actual damage. Weaknesses&Restrictions: She has to see where she's going or else she could teleport herself into a brick wall or out in the middle of nowhere. (Yeah, so I borrowed the power idea from Xmen 2 the movie. Sue me. :P) She, like her sister, can also die from any mortal wound or life threatening illness. History: The deep voice whispered to her. It echoed around her. Mingling with the enchanting sound was a rythmatic beat. Thump-thump...thump-thump. She kicked her legs, feeling thick tissue surrounding her. She could feel herself sloshing around... shifting as the world outside moved around her, bumping into the tiny body beside her. Soft voices met her developing ears... or was it her mind? 'Be safe, Jennifer. Don't try anything too strenuous. You heard what the doctor said.' 'I'm going to be having twins John.. I'm not developing an illness. I can still take care of this household as I see fit. Besides, I am a nurse.' The fetus that would be Arielle flailed her arms kicked her legs at the voices. She could hear the woman groan. She could feel the pain her mother endured. She settled again. 'Fine, Jenny. You win. I'll call you when the meeting's over.' 'You better, John. You know how risky those are these days.' 'I know, baby. I love you.' John kissed his wife and her belly, sending all the love he could to his two daughters inside. He knew they would grow up wonderful. He could feel it. If Arielle could have wailed, she would have. Death followed this man named John. She could feel it like claws at her spine. Alexis watched her sister flail in her sleep. Those dreams again. Memorical Nightmares Arielle had dubbed them when she had finally shared her troubles with Alexis. She licked her lips and pulled the thin blanket from her body and placed her hand over her sister's forhead. "Arielle," She whispered softly. But her sister would hear her even without the whisper. She always did. It was Arielle's nightmares that had awoken Alexis from her sleep. Slowly her sister's green eyes opened to look up at Alexis. She smiled, wiping the blond hair from Arielle's cold, sweaty forhead. "You had another nightmare," Alexis said, strangely gentle with her sister. Anyone else she would have told them to get the fuck over it as she rolled over to try and fall back asleep. That was just Alexis. She grew a hard ass from living in the times that she did. Arielle had a good heart and soul though... Such things would never settle in her. Alexis sometimes wondered if Arielle was confronted with the monsters that murdered their parents if she would forgive them. The little angel.... God still loves you Omega even if you did slaughter the military and turn my mom into liquid food for your little mutant projects. Alexis kept her blue eyes on Arielle's unwaveringly. Arielle would never willingly read Alexis's mind. It was a pact they made when they were children and just discovering their powers. Never would they use their abilities against eachother. They made a blood pact on it. "Yeah," Arielle said in response. She sat up and looked at Alexis. "Sorry for waking you." Arielle knew the steel in her sister's heart. She could feel the coldness consuming her every day. Sometimes enough to scare Arielle. Alexis was an angry soul. Her nightmare had been about that day... The day where their father was ripped ruthlessly from her lives before they had even been born. Before they could have even laid their eyes on their father's handsome face. All they possessed of their father was a picture with their mother. Happy. Together before the slaughter had begun. They were young in that picture. Newlyweds celebrating the pregnancy of their first child. Unfortunately the pregnancy had been terminated by natural causes. Their mother hadn't liked to talk about it. Their parents had met when they were working on an army base. He was drill sargeant and she a nurse. They fell inlove. Soon they were married and their father's career shot through the roof. He became the youngest General in military history. He attended that meeting that day. The one that Omega intruded upon only to massacre those inside. Her mother caught wind of the news quickly and packed what she could of importance and ran. She never stopped moving untill pregnancy finally slowed her down. She hid in a small house, halfway destroyed but still warm enough for the winter months. She gave birth there. Two healthy little girls. Identical twins. From the begining they showed uncanny signs of mutancy. Their mother, Jennifer Dawson was afraid of what would happen to the infants should anyone find out. So she raised them in secrecy. Noone new about the two little girls. Noone. Jennifer protected them with her life untill they were ten years old. Arielle and Alexis both remembered the day vividly. Jennifer Dawson bundled her two little girls in the corner, wrapping them in blankets to keep them warm while it snowed outside. They were limited on warm clothes. Just what they could find out on the streets. They lived in the heart of the dead cities in America. Occasionally you saw a person but rarely were they nice. Most were working for Omega, stripping the streets in searches for mutants or humans with good enough DNA to be scientifically molded into one. If the people they found were purely human, they were liquified in acid and fed to the growing mutant population. But they had no food left. Jennifer had waited too long with her girls. She had to go tonight. Arielle begged her not to go. Claws scraped at her back as she held onto her mother's arm, crying that they could go one more night without food. Jennifer insisted though. She told them to hold onto their father tight and not to leave the small house. She would be back as soon as she could. But Arielle could see it. She knew. She just couldn't explain how. Jennifer never returned to her girls. They stayed there bundled together for days before the pain in their stomachs became too much to bare. They gathered what they could of their supplies and left the small house they had grown up in in secrecy with their mother. They had only eachother now... It was a harsh reality. Arielle only broke the news of what had happened to her sister a month later. She hadn't admitted that she could feel their mother's pain and fear. She hadn't told Alexis that she had felt their mother's flesh burn off her body. It was then that Alexis decided not to be a Dawson anymore. She took a new last name off a half smoldered billboard they had come across while traveling. It had been Alexis's own little snap back at her sister for keeping the truth of their mother's death from her. She never changed her name back. Now Arielle and Alexis were nineteen, just on the verge of their twentieth birthdays. The sun was beginning to rise over the grey city. It didn't matter that Arielle had awoken Alexis with her nightmare. It was time to wake up anyways. Time to search for food, others like them and more blankets. They rose and exited the old dance studio they had slept in that night. Now they were always up and moving. Staying in one place for more than a couple days was too dangerous. They couldn't do it. They could lose eachother. As they walked Arielle opened her mind. It was their security. If Arielle felt another by, a menacing soul they would retreat. Alexis would grab ahold of Arielle and teleport them to another area of a city. It had worked for them for the past nine years. It was their way of staying alive. But Arielle felt a different kind of soul today. Relieved, hopeful. Arielle reached out slowly, cautiously. Her body itself stopped, stood motionless as she searched for the other. A young man. Older then them, in his thirties. Human... Amazing he had survived that long without powers to aid him. He was speaking to another. A woman. His wife. Telling her news that overjoyed them both. Heros. Arielle engulfed his mind with her own. The human would feel no different as she slid through his head, gathering information. Alexis waited patiently beside, keeping an eye out for trouble. Feelings of great passion engulfed Arielle and she quickly retreated, looking a little flushed to Alexis. Alexis raised a brow and nudged her sister's shoulder. She didn't have to ask, Arielle spilled the news before her sister could make a peep. They both felt waves of new hope rising over them. They saw more light in things as they moved on. Arielle would occasionally 'overhear' more conversations about the Xmen. They killed Apocolypse. War nearly died trying to avenge Apocolypse. The Xmen, They were erasing the evil powers from the world slowly... but surely. Arielle and Alexis's hopes rose and sank with each new bit of news they could get ahold of. And then one day Arielle took a crucial peice of information from a conversing group. One them being a military officer the Xmen had come upon in a battle. Where the Xmen were. Arielle instantly reconized the military base the Xmen had taken shelter in. She told Alexis and they agreed. They go find the Xmen and help them however they could. No more running.. They would fight. |
