The story goes: This orphan cow came to the farm as a "package deal" along with a horse. The two of them had grown from colt and calf as buddies, so when the horse needed a retirement home, along came the cow. Well, the horse passed away, and the cow hasn't been the same since. She turned into more "bull" than cow. She charges the fence and the people at it, and is not very happy to see anyone, carrots in hand or not, near her area. As we were leaving her corral, we took one last look and photo. I can't read a cow's mind, but I'd almost swear that she is saying, "And, don't EVER come back!!" She certainly gave us a few chuckles that day, whether she realized it or not. |
