Au Gratin Potatoes | ||||||
8 to 10 russet potatoes 3/4 cup milk 2 slices American cheese 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded 3 Tbsp. margarine 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Boil potatoes,with skins on, in a 4-quart pot, with water to cover; cook until fork tender. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel, the slice potatoes directly into a greased medium casserole dish. Put milk, cheeses and margarine in a small saucepan; season with salt and pepper. Heat on low heat until melted. Pour milk mixture over potatoes in dish; combine to coat potatoes. Bake for about 30 minutes until bubbling and most of the liquid is absorbed. |
