Fancy Buttermilk Crescent Rolls

3/4 Cup plus 2 Tbls. buttermilk
3 cups bread flour
3 Tbls. sugar
3 Tbls. butter
1 egg
2 tsp. dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking  soda
Melted Butter

Place all ingredients except melted butter in bread machine pan according to manufacturer's instructions. Set on the dough mode. Remove dough from machine at the end of cycle,* place on a lightly floured surface. Let rest 5 minutes, covered with a towel. Divide dough in half. Roll each portion into 1/4 inch thick circle. Cut each circle into wedges.; roll up from wide end. Shape into crescents on a greased baking sheet. Let rise, covered, until doubled in bulk. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter. Remove to wire racks; cool. Yield: 18
