German Chocolate Brownies Brownies: 2 boxes double-fudge Brownie mix-preferrably Duncan Hines 4 eggs 2/3 cup butter or margarine-at room temp. 1 cup semisweet Chocolate chips, about 6 oz. 3/4 cup pecan pieces 1/4 cup water Frosting: 2 cans coconut-pecan frosting, such as Duncan Hines 3/4 cup sweetented , flaked coconut- divided 24 pecan halves Brownies:----Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 13x9" baking pan with enought foil to overhang long sides at least 2": coat with cooking spray, In a large bowl add brownie mix , stir in eggs, butter, contents of fudge packets and 1/4 cup water until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans pieces. Spread in pan. Bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging. Cool completely in pan on a rack. Before frosting use foil to lift brownies from pan. Frosting: --- Combine frosting with 1/2 cup of coconut, spread over top of brownies. Sprinkle with remaining coconut. Cut into squares . Garnish with pecan halves. 24 servings. |
