Mei Choo : Hi, Asha, Balkis! I’m glad
we’re going to be in the same class this year. I
hear we’re having Puan Wan Chik as our class teacher.
Asha
: Good, I like her. I am sorry Rajes had to go to another school. We all
had
such fun last year.
Balkis
: Well, her family had to move to another state. Her dad is a police inspector,
you know.
Mei Choo : Never mind, we can still e-mail
to her. Look at that girl over there. I haven’t
seen her before. Have you?
Asha
: No, she must be new. Let’s go and talk to her. (They walk over to the
girl
who is standing in the corner of the school hall.)
Balkis
: Hello, are you new here?
Sheida : Yes,
it’s my first day. I’m Sheida from Kuching, Sarawak.
Mei Choo : I’m Mei Choo. This is Balkis and
next to her is Asha, our head prefect. Do
you know which class you are to be in?
Sheida : The
Headmaster said I’m to be in 6 Amanah.
Balkis
: Hey, what a coincidence! (They give Sheida a warm welcome)
Asha
: Our class teacher is very understanding.
Sheida : I’m
glad you’re all so friendly. I thought that I would be lonely. I was afraid
that the pupils here in Peninsula Malaysia wouldn’t be friendly.
Asha
:There’s no need to be afraid. We’ll take you around and show you the school.
