Read the following passage carefully and then answer the questions that follow.
Do you have a pet mammal ? If you have a dog or a cat, or a hamster, then
you do. You must have seen puppies or kitten feeding from their mother's
body. We are mammals too. All mammals' babies drink milks from their
mother's body.
It may be cold or hot, but the mammals' bodies stay at the same temperature
all the time. So all the mammals are warm-blooded.
Mammals have fur or hair. The fur can be short, long or straight
or curly. They may be lots of it covering every part of the body,
as on bears or dogs, or a few whiskers in one place as on whales and dolphins.
Unlike other animals , mammals manage to live almost everywhere.
Polar bears live in some of the coldest places in the world. Camels
live in the hottest places. Dolphins are mammals that spend their
whole life swimming in the ocean. Bats are mammals that often live
in dark caves and can fly.
For mammals home is where food is. Some mammals feed vegetables,
others hunt for meat, so they can be carnivorous or herbivorous.
