Looking after children’s health begins at home. We must see to their nutrition – that is what they eat. It is important to see that children receive all the vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals that they need for active and healthy bodies. With good nutrition, their minds too will be active.
            Mothers must ensure that children receive a balanced diet of meat, fish, milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits and grain food. They must gently encourage children to consume these food in moderate amounts and discourage the eating of the less nutritious ones such as snacks and fast foods.
            Children who do not eat a healthy diet, suffer from poor health and have less active minds and bodies. Their growth too will be retarded. We must remember that ‘what we are is what we eat’
