Dear Ranjit,
How’s life in University of Malaya? I hope you will do well in your coming examinations.
I’m writing to tell you about Bobby. He had a fight with the other dogs in the neighbourhood a few days ago. As a result, his neck was injured. Father had taken him to see a veterinary surgeon. The surgeon said that the injury was very serious. We had no choice but to put him to sleep.
Yesterday father bought us a new puppy. It is a spaniel just like Bobby. We named him Burno. Burno is very cute. He likes to follow us wherever  we go. I’m sure you’ll like him, too.
That’s all for now. Please reply when you are free.
                                                                                                                        Love,
