KUALA LUMPUR, Thursday – Thirty-one pupils from Sri Kuala Lumpur in Subang Jaya, spent six days at the Ampang Pecah camp near Kuala Kubu Baru recently.

Noorsham Rashid, one of the housemistresses and a teacher at the school and who organised the trip for the Year Six pupils said that they deserved the break from books and teachers

"When we first arrived, we were dark about what the camp was like. We thought it was a holiday camp but after the first briefing, we realised it was going to be different," said Kaiyisah Kamil, the leader of the girls’ group.

The course began with a series of warm-up activities followed by games where the group had to solve problems.

Mohamad Redha, one of the group leaders, said the activities conducted at the camp required a great amount of general knowledge, thinking skills and most important of all teamwork. The Ministry of Education is currently planning a similar programme for government schools, too.
