         Teng Sim wanted to go out and play badminton with his brother, Teng San. Their mother told them not to because dark grey clouds were gathering in the sky. There were also loud clappings  of thunder. The boys decided to stay home and watch television.

         Soon it was raining cats and dogs. The boys could see bright flashes in the sky. The sound of the thunder scared the boys. Suddenly, the boys saw a bright flash of light behind the television. Then the television went off. They could not turn it back on again. At the same time, all the fans in the house stopped.

         Their mother checked the electric supply switches. She turned on the switch and the electricity came back. However, the television had to be sent to the electrician for repair.
