Eternal Perdition
What is
Hell?
Some Christians believe HELL is merely the absence of GOD. The
question is: do I have to be in HELL to be
absent from GOD? Can I not be just as absent from GOD on earth? Sure I
can. My next question is: if the wicked despise GOD, how can it be torment
for them to be absent from Him? Would it not be torment for the wicked to
be in the presence of GOD instead?
We can thus establish that HELL is NOT the absence of GOD, rather HELL is the
presence of SATAN. HELL is Satan's dwelling place, his Dimensional
abode. HELL is everything Satan is in quality, nature, and essence.
Is Hell Eternal?
The underlying question is: is Sin eternal? If Sin is eternal, then so is
Satan and so is HELL for they all go hand in hand. GOD tells us in
Scripture that Sin will be completely removed from Creation and will be NO
MORE. Let us consider two very important
points:
1. Did GOD create HELL?
2. Is Satan eternal?
Did GOD create HELL? No.
There
is not one verse in the entire Bible where it states that GOD created HELL.
So since HELL is not a creation of GOD, how can it be eternal? The only
way HELL can be eternal is if it's Creator is eternal. That brings us to
our next point: is Satan eternal? Most Christians believe he is, but the
Bible says he is NOT. Ezekiel Chapter
28, speaks of
Satan in the 1st degree and to the King of Tyre in the 2nd degree: “You have
become a horror and shall be NO MORE forever.” Ezekiel
28:19. Note this
entire Chapter refers to Lucifer the "seal of perfection, wisdom, and
beauty" who was present in Eden with GOD.
Satan's future is: he will be NO MORE. Since HELL is the presence AND
essence of Satan, what
and how can HELL continue to be without him? Can HELL continue to exist without the
source that it is one with? No. HELL is an abominational abode and
GOD says: “Death (Satan) AND Hades (HELL) were
cast into the Lake of Fire.” Revelation 20:13-14.
Satan and ALL that contains his essence will be caste into the Lake of Fire.
What is the
Lake of Fire?
Speaking of Satan: “You
walked back and forth in the midst of fiercy stones.” Ezekiel 28:14.
Can Satan be destroyed by a literal Lake of Fire? No, for Satan's original
essence was Light, which is the essence of fire. The Seraphim themselves
are Angels of Fire (Psalm 104:4), so what Revelation is speaking of here is NOT
a literal fire.
The Lake of Fire is a metaphor for the GLORY of GOD. “For
the Israelites, the Glory of the LORD was a consuming FIRE on top of the
mountain.” Exodus 24:17.
“For the LORD your GOD is a consuming FIRE.” Deuteronomy
4:24.
“The LORD will cause men to hear His majestic voice and will make them see
His arm coming down with raging anger and consuming FIRE ...” Isaiah
30:30.
When Satan stands
before the LORD on Judgement Day, all that he is, and all those united in him,
will be CONSUMED by the Glory of GOD. “This
will happen when the LORD Jesus is revealed from Heaven in blazing FIRE with His
powerful Angels. He will punish those who do not know GOD and have not
obeyed His Gospel. They will be punished with everlasting
DESTRUCTION.” 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8.
If the Bible means
“GLORY of GOD” for
“Lake of Fire”, why doesn't it just say
so? Why use a metaphor? The metaphor is used for our sake, so that
we may comprehend the severity of their pain which can be understood more
clearly in the vivid representation of a Lake of Fire than in the term
"GLORY of GOD", as man currently does not comprehend the Spiritual effect of
GOD's Glory upon Sin.
“Then Death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. The Lake of
Fire is the Second Death.” Revelation 20:14.
“But the
cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, the
sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the Lake of Fire
and brimstone. This is the Second Death.” Revelation
21:8. By this
time the wicked will be so perfectly united to Satan that they will be
One. Thus they receive the same fate he does - ETERNAL DESTRUCTION - which
is the Second Death.
* The 1st Death is PHYSICAL. Every human dies the 1st Death.
* The 2nd Death is SPIRITUAL. Satan, his Legions, and the
wicked, die the 2nd Death.
The Lake of Fire is the place of their utter DESTRUCTION, where
the GLORY of GOD will consume them completely.
What about Words such
as “Forever”
and “Everlasting”
in Scripture?
The words
“forever” and
“everlasting” in
Scripture do not
necessarily mean eternally without end. Here are some examples:
A
bondslave shall serve his master FOREVER, that is, UNTIL his Death.
Exodus 21:6.
An
Ammonite or Moabite is forbidden to enter the LORD's congregation FOREVER, that
is, UNTIL the 10th generation. Deuteronomy 23:3.
GOD
dwells in Solomon's Temple FOREVER, that is, UNTIL the Temple was
destroyed. 1 Kings 8:13.
Israel's
judgment lasts FOREVER, that is, UNTIL the Spirit is poured out and GOD
restores it. Isaiah 32:13-15.
Israel's affliction is FOREVER, that is, UNTIL
the LORD restores her health and heals her wounds. Jeremiah 30:12-17.
Jonah was in the belly of the whale FOREVER, that is, UNTIL the LORD
delivered him on the third day. Jonah 2:6-10.
Habakkuk tells us of mountains that were EVERLASTING, that is, UNTIL they were
shattered. Habakkuk 3:6.
The Aaronic Priesthood was to be an EVERLASTING priesthood (Exodus 40:15), that
is, UNTIL it was superceded by the Melchizedek Priesthood. Hebrews
7:14-18.
The Law of Moses was to be an EVERLASTING Covenant (Leviticus 24:8), that is,
UNTIL it was superceded by the New Covenant of Christ. 2 Corinthians
3:11-13, Hebrews 8:13.
So
“forever”
and “everlasting”
simply mean until the END of their Time.
Consider this statement: I am tormented in prison forever. Does this mean
I am in prison forever? No, it simply means that as long as I am in prison
I am tormented. Likewise, Satan,
his Legions, and the wicked, will be tormented FOREVER, that is, until the GLORY
of GOD consumes them
COMPLETELY.
Let us NOT assume that they will be consumed within a few seconds. The
process of consumation may take hundreds and/or thousands of years. During
the process the wicked will receive and experience the sum of ALL the evil,
pain, and suffering they gave to others. “For
with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and even more.”
Mark 4:24. Why
even more? Not only will the wicked experience the direct results of their
evil deeds upon others, but also the long term indirect consequences.
Consequences which they did not cause directly but indirectly, whose detrimental
effects last for generations. For example, a man who continually abuses
his wife prevents her from being an effective mother. Their child may grow
up bitter and angry, and may in turn abuse their own children. So the
cycle of evil continues. The wicked will be made to endure the FULL
consequences of ALL their evil deeds.
This will be the state of the wicked, ceaseless pain in the form of mental and
spiritual torment, until they are completey CONSUMED. And they are never,
never, never coming back.
