"Jasper Crane, the first of his name so far as we know to set foot in the new world, was born probably about 1605, somewhere near Bradley Plain, Hampshire, England, died in Newark, New Jersey, in 1681."

Jasper Crane Jr., son of Jasper Crane and his wife Alice Leave, was born 2 April 1651 in East Haven, CT. 
He removed with his parents to NJ.
In Newark NJ 1684 he purchased property of Robert Lyman who had returned to England.
He was a member of the Assembly 1704 in Cornbury's time & also a magistrate.
He and his brothers John and Deliverance owned seats in the 1st Church in Newark. He was chosen by popular vote to fill office of fence viewer, surveyor of highways, constable, & selectman as well as committeeman, deputy to the Provincial Assembly 1697-1702, to see about settling the minister & the boundary controversy between Newark and Elizabeth.
He received two warrants for land one 27 April 1694 & the other 10 April 1696--120 acres located on branches of the Elizabethtown River.
Jasper Crane has a house lot located on the map of Newark published in 1806 at the corner of High & Market Streets.
He located in the part of Newark called Cranetown, afterwards West Bloomfield, now Montclair. He & brother Azaraith occupied most of the westerly side of town.
He died age 62 6 March 1711/12 in Newark, NJ
His tombstone stood in the Presbyterian churchyard on Broad St, Newark.

Jasper Crane married Joanne Swaine, daughter of Capt Samuel Swaine and Joannah Ward. She was born in 1651. She died at the age 69, on Sept. 16, 1720 in Newark NJ.

Nathaniel Armstrong, possibly the son of John and Mary Armstrong, was born in 1745, in New Jersey, probably Morris Co..  He married Rachel Lyon on Dec. 24, 1765, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Morristown, Morris Co, NJ. Rachel was the daughter of Samuel Lyon (Birth:   1714 of Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA, Death: 2 Jun 1770 Morristown, Morris, New Jersey) & Abigail Crane (Birth: 1 Apr 1714, Newark, Essex, New Jersey, USA. Death: 20 Oct 1768, Morristown, Morris, New Jersey, USA).

Armstrong,  Nathaniel,  Jr.--NL Segment 20--d.  26 May 1803,  age 34.  [Ed. Note:  CR8 show Son of Nathaniel & Rachel (Lyon) Armstrong,  Baptized 2 Apr 1769,  d.  26 May 1803,  age 34,  1st Husband of Mary (______) who later m.  Matthias Williams.  Mary is interred at Site 20/19.  The proximity to unidentified markers at Sites 4 & 5 suggests that one of these could be the grave of Nathaniel. CR8 show Mary had four children before the death of Nathaniel i.e.,  Silas,  David,  Phebe,  & Lewis.  See Williams,  Mary].
