| Samuel Roudebush was born April 7, 1824, in Washington Township, Carroll, Ohio. He married Catherine Ann Burson (born December 21, 1828) on November 11, 1847. In 1891, they moved to Topeka, Kansas following their sons. Catherine died October 11, 1868. Samuel died December 31, 1908, in his son's home, Emmett Ellsworth, 329 Woodlawn, Topeka, KS., where he had lived for several years. They are both buried in Topeka Cemetery, Lot 43, Sec. 42. The cemetery lot owner is listed as M. J. Marshall, husband of Samuel and Catherine's daughter, Mary Hulda.
