Rush Family Tree
Captain John "Old Trooper" Rush was baptised in 1620 the Old Rectory, Boreham, Essex, England. He married Susanna Lucas (born about 1627 in Hortun, Oxfordshire, England) on June 8, 1648, in Hortun, Oxfordshire, England. He became a Quaker in 1660. He and his whole family came to America on the ship "Welcome" in 1683 and joined William Penn's Colony, in Pennsylvania. He was a Captain in Cromwell's Army.  His religion is listed as Keithian in 1691, in Byberry Township, Pennsylvania, and listed as Baptist in 1697, in Byberry Township, Pennsylvania.  John died in May 1699, in Byberry, Pennsylvania. It is a possibility that John Rush was a descendant of Sir Thomas Russhe, born about 1490 in Suffolk, England, knighted for his services to the Queen, Ann Boleyn, at her coronation, although at this time, I know of no documented evidence to prove this as yet.
