Kamelin, Fallow's boyfriend, is the only character who can tell when things are heading in the wrong direction. He is the character who has a grip on himself and the rest of the world. His ability to foresee conflict comes from his experiences with the men in his mining squad. Some of them have connections with the mysterious "Shiela". Kamelin lives in the Heights, and avoids going Downtown.
