Ravvin Papillon The Remorseful Narrator "It was such a quiet time, where all light seemed dim. It seemed everything I saw was red: the red roses in ladies' hair; the red cheeks of their angry fathers; the redness of my blood on my fingertips. At least there were a few pinpoints of true light at that time in my life. I suppose it was really the last time of my life. . . I never meant to hurt her. . . I never should have . . . met her at all. . . . My poor Love. . . . Who would have known . . . her blood could flow black, not gold like ichor, and that I . . . would be the one . . . to discover this . . . . I loved her . . . I do still. Perhaps I was not the fault in the story; perhaps . . . it was the city. I know “guns don’t kill; people do” is a pure lie. I have nothing to do but wait. I want ever so badly to see who it was that changed. Was it her? . . . or . . . me? Then it may have been us both. I’ll find this answer. It only requires . . . reading back upon myself. No one would have known . . . had I not--" Ravvin is the typical rake. He goes through women as if they were his opium, which he is very fond of, and comes up with a lot of his writing while on opium. His writing doesn't sell much, but also doesn't sell too little. It's enough to get by. He suffers from severe insomnia, and gets out of bed very early in the morning to go with his best friend, Fallow, to have a good dose of caffeine. The lonely cafe they go to is owned by Rosie den cáo. Fallow and Ravvin are conversation buddies with Rosie. Ravvin had never fallen in love until he met Levvin. Over time, Ravvin slowly drops his unhealthy life-style as Levvin just picks it up herself. He lives in the Heights, but spends his time Downtown. Ravvin once dated the mysterious "Shiela", and therefore has some bad connections. _______________________________________________________________________________ EVERYTHING COPYRIGHT JACK SILVERMAN 2006 AND UP.
