PRINCE BUSTER Tell me you have never recited Buster's Ten Commandments to your woman and laughed at her response and I'll tell you you haven't lived. A pioneer in the birth of Ska from it's R&B roots and still going strong. JUDGE DREAD A Working Class Hero? Without doubt!!. Who could ever forget growing up to the sounds of Dread trying to get his end away at every opportunity? The first white singer to record for Trojan says it all! R.I.P. A true legend. DERRICK MORGAN Prince buster's biggest rival and no wonder. Another who could turn from banging out deep Ska to Rocksteady & Reggae without any problem. LEE PERRY There's a fine line between madman and genius as the saying goes. If you needed any proof of that then here's your man. Amazingly talented songwriter, producer, DJ, you name it. THE SKATALITES Anything I could say wouldn't do them justice, the best thing I could say is buy their music, listen, learn and enjoy. THE PIONEERS The 4 Tops of Reggae? Soulful vocals, catchy songs, and real presence. THE ETHIOPIANS Great songs like Train to Skaville, Good Ambition, Train to Glory, Engine 54 go along way to making this band a definite inclusion. DERRICK HARRIOT Do you like brilliant instrumentals? Look no further than here. TOOTS & THE MAYTALS Everything from grinding Skinhead Reggae to Lovers Rock are visited by the Maytals, and Toots's gravel tinged voice is evident throughout. LAUREL AITKEN The Godfather of Ska as he will be remembered, rest in peace and thanks for some great tunes & memories. JIMMY CLIFF A brilliantly talented vocalist and international Reggae superstar, more Reggae material than Ska but who cares when it's so good. THE KINGSTONIANS I love this band, they have got everything, brilliant vocals & harmonies and a real thumping Skinhead Reggae sound. BOB MARLEY Mr Reggae. Probably the biggest Reggae star ever and a songwriter of unrivalled ability. PAT KELLY Not much material but what a voice! He was the Sam Cooke of Rocksteady, Brilliant. KEN BOOTHE Distinctive vocals made him stand out. Some great early recordings. JOHN HOLT On his own or performing with The Paragons he could mix Skinhead Reggae and Rocksteady to a tee. SYMARIP Deserve a mention for all their songs dedicated to Skinheads.
