MUSIC FAVORITES
This page is all about my favorites when it comes to music. I hope that we all share at least some favorites in common.
FAVORITE GENRES
My favorite genre is primarily Rock, and everything that is related to it internationally or locally. Rock genres would include Alternative, Metal, Soft Rock and Alternative OPM. I also listen to Jazz, Classical, Senti and sometimes, even Pop. I an open to many kinds of music, as long as I'll like what I hear.
FAVORITE ARTISTS
LOCAL BANDS:
I am 100% Pinoy, and a good way to prove my being Filipino is to patronize Original Pinoy Music. These Pinoy bands are very talented and have a great heart and passion for the music they create. In the process, they have produced many fans, and I am one of them!

Bamboo is one of the most popular bands here in the Philippines today. Their popular songs include Noypi, Mr. Clay, Masaya, Hallelujah and F.U. These guys are really talented and have a distinct style and sound which impresses me a lot. I have met this band once after their performance in Zobel. |

You might recognize them upon hearing songs like Jopay, Dahil or Bakit part I and II. Mayonnaise is a group of young and talented people. They are very friendly and approachable. I have met the band a couple of times. I actually know 2 of them personally, Monty Macalino (extreme right) and Paga Manikan (extreme left). |

The Dawn is considered the Philippines premier band. They have over 20 years of history behind them, since the 1980's. This band went through all the thick and thin; the death of a bandmate, frequent member lineup changes, and even disbanding. But despite all that, they got back together and and became even better as musicians. You may have heard some of their songs like Salamat or Tulad ng Dati. |
Other artists not shown but are my favorites: Rivermaya, Parokya Ni Edgar, Side A, True Faith, Dicta License, Kapatid, P.O.T., Teeth, SpongeCola, Eraserheads, Wolfgang and Imago.
INTERNATIONAL BANDS:
Music is somewhat like a language which everyone (and I mean everyone!) understands. It does not matter what genre, what style it is, music is for everyone. Here are some of my favorite international artists.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers is a very talented group. Their experience spans for over 20 years now, and they are still continue making music and entertaining their fans. They have also gone through some hard times; drug addiction, the death of a bandmate (due to drug addiction) and a big fight between Anthony and John (one of the reasons was because of John's drug addiction). Despite all these, they got back together and continued their passion which is music. They are one of the key figures which shaped the sound of Alternative Rock and Funk. |

The Foo Fighters is a group of talented musicians. The band was formed by guitarist/vocalist Dave Grohl (formerly Nirvana's drummer) after Kurt Cobain's death. This bold move by Grohl was a success, and they are now one of the best known bands internationally. You may know their songs such as Monkey Wrench, Times Like These, The Best of You, Learn to Fly and My Hero. |

Nickelback is a group led by Canadian singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger. Nickelback is one well-known name in the genre of Alternative Rock. You may have heard some of their songs, namely Photograph and Someday. I like their sound, which is not too heavy and their simplicity in their compositions. |
Other artists not shown but are my favorites: U2, Audioslave, Linkin Park, Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, Creed, Alter Bridge, Vertical Horizon and Goo Goo Dolls.
Note: Did you notice that all the groups shown in the pictures are in groups of 4? Just as the same number of members as in my band, Sweet Spot.
