Kuma was born in Tokyo on September 19, 1976. She moved to Montreal when she was 7 when her father became the Japanese ambassador to Canada. While in Canada, Kuma discovered she was a Senshi. She learned this from her pet bear, Isabel. Kuma recieved Isabel when she was sick when she was 10: the wildlife patrol found an abandoned grizzly bear cub outside Montreal. The rangers said it was alright for it to be raised in captivity for it was too young to know of its vicious nature. Her father agreed to take it to his daughter. Little did the rangers or Okugato-san know that the bear was not abandoned, but was left in Canada to meet Kuma. When Kuma turned 14, Isabel began to tell her of her life in the Silver Millenium. Kuma was the cousin of Makoto Kino, Sailor Jupiter. (Callisto is a moon of Jupiter). She was Sailor Callisto: the Senshi of Life. Kuma trained with Isabel until she was 15, when her dad transferred back to Tokyo. There, she and Sailor V, as Minako was then known, teamed up to fight off the youmas until Sailor Moon was resurrected. When all of the senshi were reunited, Sailor Callisto took the role of the leader of the inner senshi.
Well, that's about it as far as Sailor Callisto's story. In case anyone is wondering "Why is her name Kuma?" Click here.
