![]() That as in the making of the pottery, the crafts person has to keep one hand inside the pot to keep it from caving in under the pressure from the hand on the outside. Therefore, it is that you need to keep Jesus on the inside of your life as to keep the pressures of the world from caving in on you. There are many examples of craftsmen in the Bible. Moses’ brother, Aaron, was a goldsmith. In 2 Timothy 4:14, Alexander is a coppersmith and in Acts 19:24; Demetrius was a silversmith. In Biblical times, the tradesmen had money, which meant that they had power. They were important in politics and were often opposed to the spreading of Christianity due to the fact that most of them were making idols for the temples. Acts 18:1-8 shows that Paul traveled from town to town teaching and preaching the Word of God. When he would arrive in a town, he would not only stay with a fellow craftsman, but he would set up his craft as a tent maker and would use his trade to finance his work for God.
