The Bladesmith's Guild

The Guild's Philosophy
In order to maintain quality, authenticity and safety in the costume weapons of the participants of the Royal Order of Chivalry, a Guild should be maintained to oversee the production of weapons by establishing certain suggested guidelines. Within the guidelines established by the Guild will be the classification of use, authenticity, safety and level of craftsmanship, supported by a system of apprenticeship.

Furthermore, the Guild should be established to encourage those within the ranks of the Order to pursue an area of interest that will secure the promise of a ready supply of accouterments from within the Order and a ready avenue of color and interest that will add to the allure of the Order.

Members of the Guild should actively recruit for apprenticeship all that might find this Guild of particular interest in their current participation on the Order.

Members should be students of historical use and production of weapons in all of their variety to help the efficient maintenance of authentic costume components.

It does not go without saying that safety in the production of weapons should be of prime consideration in the formation of the membership. Those in areas of weapons production should take every precaution in the safety of themselves and those who observe their work.

Those who sell their weapons at the Order functions are requested to pay a 5% tithe of all monies received to the Order and be generous in the giving of gifts when opportunities present themselves.
