Officers of the Sovereign’s Council & their Duties

The Crown Prince
The Crown Prince is the sovereign of the Royal Order of Chivalry Realm. He is elected from the Magnum Concilium. Elections are held once every four years and there is no limit on terms of office.

The Earl Marshal
The Earl Marshal is the Grand Master of the Knight's and is elected by all members of the Knighthood once every four years. As such, he is the logistical head for all tournament events. He is also charged with the task of maintaining safety for all tournament events for the Realm. The Earl Marshal carries the Sword of State before the Crown Prince and serves as the Sergeant-of-Arms at all courts with the stated task of keeping the quiet. His peerage title is tied to the total membership of the Knighthood as per the membership requirements set forth for Shires.

The Royal Exchequer
The Royal Exchequer is the Guild Baron of the Finance Guild and is elected by all members of the Guild once every four years. As such, he is responsible for the finances of the Realm. His peerage title is tied to the total membership of the Finance Guild as per the membership requirements set forth for Shires.

The Royal Clerk
The Royal Clerk is the Guild Baron of the Clerk’s Guild and is elected by all members of the Guild once every four years. As such, he is responsible for the record keeping, data base, mailing’s etc for the Realm. His peerage title is tied to the total membership of the Clerk’s Guild as per the membership requirements set forth for Shires.

The Sovereign of Arms
The Sovereign of Arms is the Head of the College of Arms and is elected by all members of the College once every four years. As such, he is the voice of the Crown at all events. He is also charged with the task of maintaining the Roll of Arms for the Realm. His peerage title is tied to the total membership of the College of Arms as per the membership requirements set forth for Shires.

Grand Chancellor
The Grand Chancellor is the Guild Baron of the Clergy Guild and is elected by all members of the Guild once every four years. As such, he shall serve as the spiritual adviser to the Sovereign’s Council. His peerage title is tied to the total membership of the Clergy Guild as per the membership requirements set forth for Shires.

The Realm’s Minister of the Guilds
The Grand Minister of the Guilds is elected from among the Masters of the Guilds of the Realm once every four years. The Grand Minister of the Guilds is charged with maintaining a standard of excellence in the Guilds. The Grand Minister of the Guilds is also charged with representing the Guild's interests at all Councils of the Realm, as well as perpetuating the growth and advancement of the Guilds. His peerage title is tied total membership of all the Guilds as per the membership requirements set forth for the Shire.

The Sovereign's Advisors
The Crown Prince may appoint, at his prerogative, members to serve as advisers on the Sovereign’s Council. Upon appointment, the Crown Prince will also create a title for them. Reappointment must be made annually. The Sovereign's Advisors are charged with providing the Crown Prince with sound, spiritual council in any manner necessary.

All titles are tied to the office served. Upon completion of a four year term of service to the realm, it is customary for the Crown Prince to grant title for life to the members of his Sovereign’s Council. Typically, if a person served as the Royal Clerk, and the Clerk’s Guild and stature resulted in his title being a Marquis, the Crown Prince would create him Marquis for life. All Crown Princes upon retirement from office will carry the title of Prince.
