Description; Ah, ANOTHER cool Gundam figure.

The GP-01 is approximately 3" tall and is a classic Gundam piece; super-robot coloring with super-realistic articulation and sculpting.  the piece comes with the usual shielt, beam rifle, and beam saber.

However, the extras don't stop there.  The figure also comes with a srream-lined core-fighter and a core-fighter that splits into a cock-pit and the back-pack that attaches with the Gundam figure.

Woohoo.
Gundam GP-01 Fullburneren- MS Gundam 0083; Stardust Memeory, Bandai
Meat and Potatoes; 5.0
Perks; 5.0
Homer Factor; 5.0
Ah, no more begging for bootlegs of Gundam episodes.  No more having to PRAY your comic shop didn't get screwed out of Gundam figures.  NO MORE PAYING HIGH IMPORT PRICES.  Bandai has seen the light and is releasing models and toys by the boat-load here in the US, and it is time to rejoice.  And stop whining!  We know, the painting isn't as detailed as the Japanese versions.  Ok, ok, these American releases don't have the 20 bagillion replacement hands the original versions come with.  Guess what, these also COST ABOUT 50% LESS THEN THE IMPORT VERSIONS AND YOU CAN GET THEM FROM YOUR LOCAL TOY SHOP.  Big question; are these figures good?  Fine, these figures DON'T have all the anal bells-and-whistles their Japanese brethren do.  Nonetheless, these figures still ROCK.  Case in point, the GP-01 from Stardust Memory, the Deluxe edition..

The meat and potatoes on this piece are amazing, considering the scale and price.  Alright, let's just get out and say it; the painting on these is  NOWHERE as detailed as the MSIA versions in Japan.  You get a good paint-job on the face, and that's about it.  Sorry, no panel lines, no rivets.  The good news is the sculpting and articulation on this piece is AWESOME.  Waaaaaaaaaaaay too many points of articulation to count on this one, so posability is not a problem.  The fun part are the little extras that do move.  For instance, the giant boosters on the back both rotate, and the maneuvering vanes on the shoulders also move up and down.  Details like that just add to the fun of the figure.  Although the paint-job lacks detail, the sculpting does not.  Panel lines, vents, maneuvering thrusters, the works, are all recreated on this figure, giving it the classic realism you expect from Gundam pieces.

The perks on the deluxe edition are awesome.  Fine, you DON'T get 100 replacement hands.  However, you do get the requisite pair of beam sabers, shield, and beam rifle.  But it  doesn't stop there.  The figure also comes with two core-fighters.  The first core-fighter is a miniaturized, full transformer, sleek model of the core-fighter.  The other version of the core-fighter is a combination of the MS back-pack and the core-fighter cockpit.  The core-fighter cockpit is detachable and the back-pack is plugged into the back of the Gundam.

Homer Factor is very high on this.  Gundam figure + affordability = very cool piece.

In the end, the figure is an awesome piece of work.  Fine, you don't get the super-detailed paint, blah, blah, blah.  Whatever.  What you DO get is a figure with amazing articulation, a lot of accessories, AND, best of all, it's less then $15.  Woohoo.
