The Batmobile, 2002
One of the best things about Batman-The Animated Series was the Batmobile.  It was sleek, black, and about a city-block long.  Ok, not practical, but who cares, it's THE BATMOBILE.  Naturally,  Hasbro created a version of the legendary vehicle to coincide with the Animated Series line.  The toy wasn't bad; nice size and it fit a Batman figure well.  However, there was so much more that could have been done....

First, the car fit only one figure in the front.  Come on, you have to fit two figures in the front seat.  Robin's gonna just sit in the back?  Nope.  Let's just widen this sucker so two figures can sit side-by-side.  And of course, like the series, the canopy should slide forward and backward to allow figures in and  out.

As far as gimmicks, unfortunately the Batmobile in the comics was never loaded.  It's basically a car that runs very well, goes very fast, has some neat computer equipment, but not much else.  Very practical, very Batman, unfortunately very BORING.  Ok, what sorta neat goodies can we dump on this thing that would be REASONABLY logical.  How about some lasers that appear out of pop-out panels, ala the cannons from Batman-The Movie.  Let's add grenade-launchers while we're at it; it can also fire tear-gas, fire-retardant foam, and other non-lethal loads.

Additional bells and whistles?  Hmmmmmmmm... how about doing something snazzy with the instrument panel.  You usually get a colorful sticker to put on the instrument panel in the vehicle.  Cost effective, but kinda lame.  How about using some small LED's and make a real light-up display for the Dark Knight?  Oh, and let's not forget the jet exhaust in the back, which HAS to light up.

There we go, one loaded Batmobile to go.  Just don't forget to fill the tank when you get back.
