The Utimate Iron Man
Yes, I love Iron Man.  I feel better now.  Batman still rocks, but you gotta love a character who is loaded, is a genius but not a giant geek, makes hi-tech equipment to make Star Fleet droos, a phhilanthropist, and has desinged THE baddest seapon this side of Green Lanters power ring.  Take that, Bill Gates.  ToyBiz did a good job with their Iron man line lowe many moons ago, as you noticed from
my review of the hologram armor Iron Man.  Still, there was so much more that could have been done...

First, lets stick with the rmovable armor idea.  Instated of a multitude of different figures, ala Batman, how aobut one base firgue with a number of mission-specific armor that is plugged into the base figure.(Yes, I'm purposefully staying away from any Barbie out-fit comparisons.  These are ACTIONF FIGURES, NOT DOLLS.  So there.)  Why not have tons of different armor choices that you just stick on the figure, and lets go full bore with this.  Deep sea armor with giant O2 tanks, deep-space armor with giant thurusters, heavy combat version with even nastier weapons then War Machine.  To carry all this stuff, but out the 9"  mold with better detail.  And how about some electronics?  Let's wire some LED's in the hands for a real repulsor glow, throw in a sound chip for the blast of the repulsors fireing, maybe add the roar of the boot-jets.

Each new armor piece will come with a customized rack so you can siplay the armor on your shelf next to the base figure, rather then just sticking it ina acontainer until later.  And just like ToyBiz did with the original Iron Man figures, include a little 'schematic' on the back of the blister-card.

And Tony is nothing without his Buddy Jim Rhodes.  The base Iron Man figure will be a two-pack with Jim and War Machine armor.  Why Rhody?  Hey, he's a 'Nam vet, a awesome pilot, and a terrific character.

There we go, Shell-Head in style.
