I loved 'The Spy Who Loved Me.' Great Bond flick; Barbara Bach as the femme fatale, Roger Moore doing a solid turn as Bond. For me, the best part was the LOTUS. Ok, not as snazzy as a 'Vette or Lambo, but neither of them could turn into a sub with anti-aircraft missiles, torpedoes, and mines. Cooool. Corgi released a very tiny die-cast verson of this ages ago. Think Matchbox size. It was cute, but considering the work ReSaurus put into the new Mach 5 for their Speed Racer line, how about a new Lotus. First, it has to be large enough for two figures to sit in the front. Hey, Bond without babes is like Clinton without a scandal.(I know, cheap joke, but you were thinking the same thing.) Next, it must be able to transform from car to sub, THE reason for have this piece. Either have an extra joint connected to the wheels so they can fold into the car, or you can 'cheat' and have removable wheels. Then have panels slip over the wheel-wells. From there, just have little hydro-planes and props pop out. Ideally, the weapons should also all be functional. If you want to go over the top, throw in a sound-chip to reproduse the sound of the weapons launching and maybe a sonar ping. To round things off, have the car include a figure of Barbara Bach's KGB agent, XXX. Ah, nothing like a Bond film for creative names. There you go, a perfect accessory for Mr. Bond.... well, maybe also include a martini, shaken, not stirred. |
