In Memorium of Real Heroes Our heroes tend to come in flashy costumes with god-like powers, or as masters of 200 fighting-systems and the ability to use any weapons. In the real world, TRUE HEROES are people just like us; rather average, undistinguishable from the crowd. Until action is required; burning buildings, stopping a murderer. Suddenly these all too human people display true heroism because they ARE EXACTLY LIKE US, the only difference being they are willing to put their lives on the line for US. A few months ago, Hasbro created a very poignant figure in memory of Vietnam Veterans. In light of past events, here's an idea of Hasbro; a figure for the doctors, fire-fighters, and police officers who are still fighting the REAL GOOD FIGHT at the WTC and at the Pentagon and at the Pennsylvania crash-site. The piece is meant to be a diorama. A figure of a nurse, a fire-fighter, and a police officer. All figures to approximately 5" scale. Keep the articulation to the minimum. This is about symbolism, pure and simple. All three figures standing and holding up the WTC, both towers being approximately 7" tall. The base of the towers should be simple gray. Yes, the Pentagon was also hit, but the WTC is much more powerful visually. As a background, an soot-covered American flag. This goes without saying, but ALL proceeds go to charity. Super heroes do exist. No, they can't fly, they aren't invulnerable, and they can't read minds, but they are real... and bless you all. |
