Kan ji zai bo sa gyo- jin han-nya ha ra mi ta ji |
clearly perceived that all five elements are empty, which saves from all anguish and troubles. |
sho- ken go on kai ku- do is-sai ku yaku. |
Sariputra! Form does not differ from emptiness And emptiness does not differ from form. |
sha ri shi shiki fu I ku- ku- fu I shiki |
Form itself is emptiness and emptiness itself is form. |
shiki soku ze ku- ku- soku ze shiki |
Sensation, perception, action, consciousness are also like this. |
Ju so- gyo- shiki yaku bu nyo ze |
Sariputra, These matters are marked by emptiness |
Sha ri shi ze sho ho- ku- so- |
Neither being born nor perishing; being not stained nor pure; Neither increasing nor decreasing. For these reasons, there is in emptiness, |
Fu sho- fu metsu fu ku fu jo- fu zo- fu gen ze ko ku- chu- |
No form nor is there sensation, perception, action or consciousness; No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind. |
Mu shiki mu ju so- gyo- shiki mu gen-ni bi zes-shin I |
No form, sound, smell, taste, touch, dharma; No visible world, no mental world; |
mu shiki sho- ko- mi soku ho- mu gen kai nai shi mu I shiki kai |
There is no ignorance or destruction of ignorance. |
mu mu myo- yaku mu mu myo- jin |
There is no old age and death, no destruction of old age and death; |
nai shi mu ro- shi yaku mu ro- shi jin |
No anguish or its formation or its suppression or the way thereto ; No wisdom and no attainment, since there is nothing to attain. |
mu ku shu metsu do- mu chi yaku mu toku I mu sho tok'ko |
The Boddhisattva by depending on the perfect wisdom |
Bo dai sat-ta e han-nya ha ra mi ta ko |
Has thought free of entrapment or obstacles, since there is no entrapments or obstacles; Having thus nothing to fear |
shim-mu kei ge mu kei ge ko mu u ku fu |
He separates himself from all perverse imaginings and dreamlike notions achieving complete and final perfect happiness and tranquility . |
on ri is-sai ten do- mu so- ku gyo- ne han |
The Buddhas from past, present, and future by relying on perfect wisdom |
San ze sho butsu e han-nya ha ra mi ta ko |
Have had the supreme enlightenment. |
Toku a noku ta ra sam-myaku sam-bo dai |
Therefore know that Perfect Wisdom is the great sacred mantra, the great vivid mantra, |
ko chi han-nya ha ra mi ta ze dai shin shu ze dai myo- shu |
The unsurpassed mantra, the supreme mantra, which completely removes all anguish. That is real, not vain. |
ze mu jo- shu ze mu to- to- shu no- jo is-sai ku shin jitsu fu ko |
Therefore set forth the Perfect Wisdom mantra, set forth this mantra and proclaim: |
ko setsu han-mya ha ra mi ta shu soku setsu shu watsu |
"Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi, Swaha !! |
Gya tei,
gya tei, ha ra gya tei, hara so-gya
tei, Bodhi sva-ha- ka. |
And here, the heart of the Perfect Wisdom is realized. |
