Tag style:

I have done a post and reply, so hopefully all is covered. Notes in gold explain.

With this style you have full control of your character and what he/she says or does. However, you also have limited control over other people’s characters. While you can try and steer them into saying or doing what you want them to, they decided their characters actions. This style can be written in present or past tense in first person, third person or even in the illusive second person. However, the third person past tense is by far the most common

Ensign Betty Smith - rank and name so people know who wrote it

Counselor - position on ship

'who counsels the counselor?'  - title of post for easy identification, different ships have different rules about this

*NM* - new material see dictionary of terms

Betty walked down the corridor, she was in a hurry, she had a meeting with the captain and was late, as she was walking she didn't see where she was going and bumped into Spivik, her Vulcan college. "Oh sorry!" she said exasperated,

<Spivik> - tag for him to write

She smiled thankfully :: How stupid can you be?::, - shows thoughts

<Spivik>

(OOC please say something about the captain looking for Betty) - to writer not character (out of character)

She nodded and headed off in the opposite direction.

((Counselor's office, five minutes later)) - location marker

Betty entered and the captain turned to look at her.

<Captain>

"I'm sorry sir, I... "

<Captain>

Once the captain had left Betty thought about what he had said, could he have been right? Had she been neglecting her duties as counselor?

+Smith to Spivik+ - COMM. speech

<Spivik>

+I think I'll take you up on your offer, I think I need to meditate+

tbc - to be continued

the reply:

Lieutenant Spivik

Ships doctor

"the meld"

*OM*

Betty walked down the corridor,

SNIP -cuts out bits unnecessary to the post.

 as she was walking she didn't see where she was going and bumped into Spivik, her Vulcan college. "Oh sorry!" she said exasperated,

*NM*

"*raising one eyebrow* - shows action No need for concern"

*OM*

She smiled thankfully :: How stupid can you be?::,

*NM*

*Looking concerned as a Vulcan can* "Are you alright ensign?" Spivik didn't give her time to answer as he remembered, "The captain is in your office, he is not happy."

As she headed off he called after her, "Maybe you need some meditation? I'm free later on today."

However, he hadn't actually expected her to accept

<<later>> - amount of time passed for other players benefit

+Smith to Spivik+

+tap+ "What can I do for you ensign"

+I think I'll take you up on your offer, I think I need to meditate+

<<a few hours later>>

Spivik had decided, after many unsuccessful attempts to get Betty to meditate properly, that maybe he should meld with her to find out what the problem was.

"Ensign Smith, I believe that the best way I can help you is a mind meld"

<ensign?>

OOC

I don't know about Betty's past, so maybe YOU can give ME some insight? :)

If you like you can play Spivik as an NPC for the meld. - another way of doing OOC is leaving it for after the post as a footnote or putting it at the beginning as a
