Appearance

Eyes: Ceridwen has sharp green eyes. The green just stands out in her pale face. Although her eyes not wide, they are more often than not the first feature notice about her. If only because their eyes are drawn to the vibrant green irises.
Hair: Long, straight black hair. Her hair is smooth and carries a slight shine to the strands. She appears to take good care of her hair despite the fact she never does anything with it. The strands are always seen flowing down her to bottom with dark bangs following just above her eyes.
General: Ceridwen stands at a height of around five foot seven, being around average. Her form is thin with graceful curves. She could almost be described as beautiful. However, there is something about her appearance that doesn't allow her to be called anything more than mildly attractive.

Her skin is pale in coloring, almost appearing white. As such, Ceridwen is hardly ever viewed during the day, she haunts the nights, so to speak. She doesn't care for day and this shows in her habits and the fact that she teaches the only class that is always taught at night. Besides her eyes and her paleness she has no distinguishing marks upon her form. Her lips are no redder than average, there are no unusual birthmarks or scars upon her form.

To finish her unusual appearance, Ceridwen's attire always runs towards black. Whether she be wearing robes, pants, skirts, dressed or the like. When she first started teaching she used to wear a form of black lace however she grew annoyed when students kept associating it and her as a muggle vampire.

In first impressions, Ceridwen would be described as silent but deadly. There is very little that she misses and often she stores this information for later to use against, as some students believe. However, not many people actually know the Astronomy professor, so few actually know how she truly acts. She meets very few people during the night and often she is not in the mood for speaking.

She prefers to remain silent however she can be talkative when given the chance and the right subject. Ceridwen keeps mainly to herself. It seems the only people who come near her are the Headmaster, her students during lessons or if they have a question, otherwise she is never seen.

History: The Gyps family is if anything a little odd if only for the fact the family, or at least the children, hold half magical blood and the other half vampire. Their mother had as one could already figure out, fallen in love with a vampire. Strange and as cliche as this case scenario is, it had happened. The three Gyps's children all have certain aspects associated with the vampire in their appearance and habits. However, thankfully none of the children had acquired the taste for blood for survival.

Ceridwen, being the middle child, had always kept to herself more than her siblings. Like both siblings, she had inherited a love for the dark and a disinterest and almost hatred for day. However, Ceridwen had it the worse of the three children. She was truly a night child. Growing up, Ceridwen had forced herself to live during the day as she attended school. She was educated in a private magic school as well as both of her siblings. From early on, she found a liking for teaching, however she feared due to her mixed background she would not be hired.

For a while, Ceridwen taught in a smaller school in the north of France before she transferred to teach at Hogwarts. After a grueling interview with the Headmaster she was granted the permission to join the staff of Hogwarts.

Already, rumors have spread that she is a full fledged vampire. Her pale appearance, black hair, and night tendency opening her for these rumors. Ceridwen does little to dispell these rumors, nor does confirm them. She simply leaves the children to their imagination. Afterall, one needs something to talk about and whats better than having a Vampire for a teacher who might suck their blood in their sleep?

Anything Else? She is half vampire. She doesn't drink blood, however she has a large dislike of day, unusual strength for her size, and the ability to seemingly disappear from sight (however this is just because people don't notice her).
