History: Daniel was born into a middle class pureblood family. His father had been a broom maker and his mother an apothecary. His childhood was rather average, he had no tragic occurrences, out of the ordinary, happen to him or his family to make him unique. No, Daniel had a normal, and probably dull, childhood.

When he was eleven, he attended Hogwarts where he was sorted into the Hufflepuff house. For the next seven years, he attended Hogwarts where he got good grades, but not good enough to distinguish him among his classmates. Around his own friends, Daniel was sometimes referred to as the “Secret Keeper” as his friends, girls and guys alike, could tell him anything without fear that he would tell anyone else. In this way, Daniel had been a loner the majority of his school years. Despite the fact that he had friends, Daniel wasn’t always open towards them with his own personal problems. In a way, Daniel probably felt he wasn’t expected to have problems that he would need to confide in. So Daniel had taken on his role of Secret Keeper and advisor towards his friends.

When Daniel was seventeen, he fell in love with a fellow seventh year. However, she was from Slytherin. It wasn’t until after they graduated that anything became of this relationship, even then it was not until five years later. The girl, Jane Ferris, was someone who lived by what her friends said and did. She would not date a Hufflepuff while in school. It just was not done. What changed her mind after they graduated is unknown but she began to return the interest that Daniel had in her after they had ran into each other again in The Leaky Cauldron. They dated for about two years before they married. However, the marriage was not successful. The only good thing Daniel says that came out of his marriage with Jane was Claire.

Early in their marriage, about a year into it, Jane gave birth to a little girl who they named Claire Lillian. However, their marriage was crumbling around this time and it was not long until a divorce followed Claire’s birth. Jane had shown little interest in having and taking care of a child at that point in her life so Daniel had received custody of their daughter.

Since graduating from Hogwarts, Daniel had been working on getting further education in Psychology in order to be a counselor. Having achieved this, Daniel found that a position in Hogwarts for one was needed so he applied for and was granted the position.

Now he, and his now, four year old daughter have taken up residence in Hogwarts.
