Jonathan Van Alterine General
Name: Jonathan Nathaniel Van Alterine Appearance Jon stands at a height around five foot eleven, being close to six feet, on a good day. Jon’s frame is thin and lean. His skin is a light tan, however not tan enough to say that Jon is an outdoor person, although that is not to say that he spends all his time indoors. His hair is usually tied back in a ponytail at the nape of his neck. The tawny brown strands falling past his shoulders. However, he has somewhat long bangs that refuse to be tamed by any hair band or stay behind his ears. However, Jon refuses to cut his hair. His dark blue eyes are often hidden behind thin, silver, rectangular frames. Although the man has muggle contacts he rarely wears them, finding them more a hassle to take in and out than his glasses. His glasses rest on a thin yet straight nose, however his nose is not pointed. He has a thin facial structure and his jaw is usually clean-shaven. Jon’s attire usually runs towards neat formal yet casual style. He isn’t one for full out suits but neither is he one for the sloppy casual appearance. Jon had somehow managed to fall in the middle of these two categories. Although, stiff seeming at times, Jon has a wild side that is shown from the cartilage piercing his has in his left ear as well as the tattoo that graces his lower back just above his buttocks. Personality Jon is a laid back sort of person. However, he is not laid back enough that his feelings and thoughts are shown easily. Rather, only those close to him can really tell how he is thinking. Jon isn’t quite easy in situations and around people he is unfamiliar with. In such situations, he is usually found be in a corner of the room observing and being silent instead of participating. In such ways he could be considered rude, especially when he has trouble making conversation with said unknown people. However, in an atmosphere and around people he knows, Jon is more easy going. Despite his social awkwardness, Jon is a devoted person. He doesn’t give himself in halves. If he commits himself to anything he does it with all his power. He is not very judgmental, unless one gets on his bad side right away, and is usually considered very honorable. History
Place of Birth: Britain History: Jon was born into an average wizardry family. There was nothing really out of the ordinary with the Van Alterine family. Diane Van Alterine worked as a cashier in Flourish and Blotts while Elliot Van Alterine ran one of the second hand junk stores. Although each brought in money, it was only enough to keep the family in moderate living condition and style. When the Van Alterine children became eleven, each were accepted into Hogwarts and each attended the school. Arica was the first to attend the school and she was sorted into the Gryffindor house. Her brother, Jon, attended the school the next year and was placed within Ravenclaw. The youngest, Noelle attended Hogwarts while Arica was a fourth year and was sorted into the Hufflepuff house. As a student, Jon worked diligently and didn’t really do much past studying and reading his books. He almost matched the stereotypical Ravenclaw perfectly. However, that was only on the outside, in regards to his haughtiness with his knowledge. In truth, Jon didn’t really know how to express himself well with others, unlike his sisters who had mastered this technique down to an art. However, Jon was content, or so he thought, with his study and basically lack of a life during his school years. Due to his studying, Jon made close to top scores in all his classes. He did not really excel in one specific course. He tried to keep himself rounded, finding something to like in each course he took. However, if one were to critique Jon, one would find that he had a natural talent in the subject of -----. After graduating Hogwarts, Jon went on to a University where we studied more, but more in the lines of becoming a teacher. After graduating the school, he moved out into the field to find himself a place within the school system, whether it be British, Scottish, Irish, American, or some other. Other
