Eyes: Average, almond shaped brown eyes with thick eyelashes outlining them. Her eyes are very expressive. She has trouble keeping her feelings from showing up in her eyes. Her appearance could appear neutral but her eyes will always give away as to her true feelings.

Hair: Carmel brown strands that fall in waves to just be low her shoulders and a little above her mid back. There are lighter and dark shades of brown blended into the strands, blending the colors smoothly to make one wonder at the true color of her hair. The strands are usually pulled back away from her face in some sort of style, either simple or complex depending on her mood and ambition.

General: Kathy stands at around the height of 5’ 7 being a little above the average height for a woman. Her skin is a like milk color to tan depending on the light and how much time she had spent outside. Her normal skin color is a mix between a peach and tan. She is not remarkably pretty, nor is she ugly. Many would describe her as an average girl. Her form is thin with smooth curves. Her physique is healthy.

She takes little care into her appearance. She will only make herself up so that she is presentable. Kathy is not the type of woman to take pride in her appearance and over do on make-up and accessories. She will often times just put a bit of light make up upon her face, a natural look to it, and her clothes are not fine or fashionable. She will wears what is comfortable and within her budget. She is not one to spend beyond her budget; rather she will more often try to spend as little as possible. Although she doesn’t do this just because she doesn’t wish to spend money, she just tries to be reasonable and realistic in her needs.

The only distinguishable mark on her body is a muggle tattoo that she received when she was eighteen as part of an act of rebellion, if you could call it that. The tattoo is located on her lower back, above her posterior. Very few people have seen this tattoo however. She was not one of those people to show it off, nor has she mentioned the possession of it to anyone. The shape of the tattoo is nothing fancy or colorful. It is merely a black, intricate design that spreads over her lower back horizontal for about five inches.

P e r s o n a l i t y

General: Katherine is usually describe as being cold and distant in her demeanor towards people. However, she knows no other way to act. She had always held her emotions closely in check, as she was never certain in her expression of her emotions as a child, although this was due to her family life and her parents’ own personality. As she grew, she grew more distant from other people. She will speak pleasantly with people, but she will always keep herself guarded. She knows no other way.

As a child, Katherine had yearned for the love and freedom that most children were granted in their lives. However, she was unable to access such feelings. As she grew, she learned to brush these wishes aside and continue on with life. She had to, she would not have survived if she did not.

However, even as an adult, Katherine still wishes for the freedom and love and showing her feelings freely. But it is difficult for her. She had tried to open up with people, to let them get near to her, but she did not have the will to do it and keep it up. The attempt soon dwindled into nothing. Although her feelings are usually hidden behind a barrier, they are always expressed in her eyes. She is unaware that she can be read thus. Most times though, her eyes usually read sadness.

Despite these hardships, Katherine has led a decent life. She is very intelligent and her magical skill is very strong. When she places her mind to do something, she will accomplish it to the best of her abilities. She is not satisfied until she has given it her all. Often times she will work herself into exhaustion in doing so. In moments such as these, Kathy will forget about her own health and continue to move onward even though her body is telling her to cease, to take a break. Few people ever recognize when she has reached this point. Only when she has physically collapse do people often make her take it easy.

When Kathy is not intent on her goal, she is usually very aware of her body and limitations. Do not think that she always abuses herself when she is working towards a goal.

History: Katherine grew up in a well to-do area of England. Her family was, for lack of better term, rich. Her family was not in want for material items. However, although they did not want materially, the same could not be said emotionally. The Marcelle family had never been a loving one, although do no get the idea that is was an abusive one. The parents had married out of obligation, there was no real love between the two people. However, they were able to get along well enough to stick with the other, if for the sake of their children. Even after their children were adults the parents still remained together. Whether this was from habit or mutual understanding was unknown. Either way, the Marcelle children were not in want of parents.

However, their parent’s love was a different story. Their parents loved their children dearly but they could not express it as other loving families did. Indeed, the Marcelle was at the very least cold. The siblings could only draw feelings from each other and even that was difficult. As each of the children grew they began to take after their parents in manners. If Georgiana and Keith felt different than Katherine, she did not know it.

Katherine wanted the love that she saw in her friend’s family. She did not know how to approach it though within her family. Like her siblings, she usually kept her opinions to herself. She did not know if her brother and sister felt the same and she was afraid to ask them. With this fear in place, Katherine never brought the subject up within her family circled.

Since the siblings were homeschooled in both magic and muggle knowledge, Katherine never grew out of the loneliness she felt in her family circle. Even as she left home and made her way in the wold she never reached out to touch others. She often drew back when people tried to touch her and draw her into their circle. Whether this was from her childhood fear, which had grown as she grew older into a hard shell, or something else she didn’t know. She had often attempted to break from the hard shell she had built around her emotions but to no avail. She lacked the means and spirit to do so.

After leaving home, Katherine furthered her education through a muggle college for five years, allowing her to receive a teaching degree in the muggle world. However, she did not go straight into teaching. Indeed, she found a position in the ministry in the Department of Magical Education. For a while she worked that, filing and updating various records on the many magic schools and subject matters. Katherine worked in the ministry for some years before she decided to try teaching, applying at Durmstrang she was granted the position of Professor of Mythology. She held the teaching position at Durmstrang for three years before she transferred to a different school.
