Victoria Anderson

General

Name: Victoria Olivia Anderson
Age / Birthday: 15 / May 17
Blood Type: Half - Blood
Pets: A brown owl.

Appearance

Eyes: Victoria's eyes are wide in shape with clear irises. Her eyes are a chestnut brown in coloring. Her eyes are usually very active, always looking about. Her eyes having taken a large portion of her missing sense.

Hair: Like her eyes, her hair is chestnut in coloring. The strands are thick with large curls to soft waves in their form. Victoria's hair is naturally curly and she does little to it. She is not one to fuss with her hair and will often times just throw it up in a ponytail or a bun.

General: Victoria has a fair complexion. Although her skin is pale she could not be called white. However, she does not tan easily and will more often burn instead. This is not to say, however, that Victoria is not an outdoor person as she is but she needs proper protection from the sun.

Since she cannot hear, Victoria has trouble speaking and in truth the closes she comes to speaking is small noises. With this, her face is very expressive. It would need to be if she were to get her point across, as not many people could speak sign language. Although, lucky for most people, Victoria knows how to lip read.

Victoria's height is around five foot eight. Her form is thin with smooth curves. However, she takes little interest in her appearance as could be deduced from her clothing style. She will wear close to anything if she likes it. With this in mind, she does not usually wear clothing that shows off her form. No, she leans more towards the baggier style of clothing. However, every now and then she will appear in some figure-hugging outfit.

Personality

Victoria tries to be a pleasant person. Keyword: tries. However, she becomes frustrated easily. Especially when people make a big ordeal over the fact that she cannot hear. She dislikes the fact that people treat her differently just because she cannot hear anything. Although, she does find it amusing, sometimes, the things people will say around her because they believe she doesn't understand. However, if she can see a person's face, and hence their mouth, she can easily tell what they saying.

Past her annoyance, she is an easy person to get along with. She has a good sense of humor and finds amusement in the silliness of people around her. She isn't afraid to embarrass herself in front of people nor to get out and try new things.

Although Victoria seems open with people, it is difficult for people to truly get to know her. As most people reveal themselves through their speech, Victoria doesn't talk. So things people tend to think they know about her maybe false from what is actually true. Victoria cannot always set people straight about things. This is especially so when the person makes a big deal of her lack of hearing and does not understand any way she tries to communicate with them (even with just the simple shaking her head no).

History

Place of Birth: Staffordshire, England.
Nationality: British with a mixture of French and Italian.
Languages: She can only understand spoken English, lip reading.
Parents: Susan and Eric Anderson.
Siblings: Only child.

History: Since her birth, Victoria had been deaf. Her parents at first were devastated that their little girl could not hear and did not really know how to handle her. However, as she grew up, both she and her parents learned to cope with her deafness. There was one thing they had trouble adapting to and that was the way that they treated Victoria. Although she was a healthy child in every other way, they insisted on treating her differently. This of course became a strain on the family and especially Victoria as she wished to do what normal children did and yet some people would not allow her to.

As she continued to grow, she showed signs of magic early on, something her mother was proud to see. Despite the fact that she was proud that her daughter had inherited her magical abilities, Susan feared that her daughter would have a difficult path ahead of her. As young witches and wizards learned to control spells and their magic through speech, something Victoria had trouble doing. She could form the words with her mouth but they would not come out correctly.

When Victoria turned eleven she was accepted into a couple wizardry schools. Her mother, knowing her daughter's needs, interviewed the schools to see which was best for her daughter. Susan sought a school that had a strong Wandless Magic professor who was willing to teach the deaf eleven-year-old to control her magic.

Susan eventually found such a person in Durmstrang, where Victoria attended until her fifth year. For the first year, Victoria had only one Professor, Professor Jonathan Welsh. Welsh took to teaching Victoria with vigor. He was determined that the young girl would grasp the fundamentals of Wandless Magic, something she would need to learn if she were to continue in her Magical Academic career.

Although Welsh was a hard teacher, he was a good one and Victoria was a good student. Victoria knew of her handicapped and she was determined to do everything in her power become a normal witch, or at least as close to one she could be. With this so, it took a year for her to master the basics of Wandless Magic. This allowing her to attend classes with other students her second year while she continued with Wandless Magic class.

By the end of her fourth year, her mother decided, after speaking with Welsh, that Victoria was able to proceed normally in her schooling and was hence able to transfer to a school closer to her home, Hogwarts.

Upon transferring to Hogwarts, Victoria was surprisingly sorted into the Ravenclaw house.
