Description:
AUG was made already in 1960s by Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch, but still some four decades later looks futuristic as ever thanks to its excellent engineering and bullpup configuration. Steyr AUG was sold to number of militaries and law enforcement agencies that continue use it today. As recently as 1997, Steyr produced new variant AUG A2, which is shortened carbine version with Picatinny-style rail mount.

Tokyo Marui made its electric gun version of Steyr AUG in 1996 and what an excellent piece of work it is. Takedown mechanism is said to be almost identical with the real AUG and even the barrel replacement mechanism has been successfully copied from real AUG. Trigger is progressive and there is no fire selector – both semi and full automatic fire are done with trigger only.

For performance Marui AUG is excellent in accuracy and reliability even with its takedown mechanism (usually takedown mechanisms affect performance in very negative way). One point of notice is that muzzle velocity is in AUG much higher than what it is in typical Marui electric rifles.

Marui Steyr AUG is that good that apparently even some firearms collectors are purchasing it for their private collections. This civilian version has rail mount and plastic open sights for attachment to rail. Basically you need to get scope sight and mount for it to make this gun look like it should.

Some players have habit of removing internal stock plate to make more space for custom batteries, but this is not recommendable as the purpose of stock plate is to hold the gearbox is proper position. By removing stock plate gearbox will move uncontrolled when fired and this can result in breakdown.
