M4A1 R.I.S. (Rail Interface System)
Tokyo Marui M4A1 RIS Review:
This M4A1 RIS was purchased from the good folks over at Precision Airsoft. Overall, this gun is a lot better than the M4A1 that I previously owned, you can find that review in here too but I highly recommend this gun over it.
The barrel wobble that is ever present in the M4A1 is virtually non-existant in the RIS version. The RIS itself is metal, very sturdy, and the bottom part slides off for easy access to the battery connector cord. With the RIS version, you get the RIS AN/PEQ2 look-a-like laser, which is really a battery box in disguise; RIS armor, to protect your RIS grips; the vertical foregrip, which by the turn of a nob on the bottom can be moved around or taken off completely; and a reinforced outer barrel, to take away from barrel wobble. The front sling mount is in a different position, facing towards the ground instead of the side, but other than that, the rest of the gun is like the M4A1.
Metal parts on this gun include but are not limited to:
*T-Charging Handle
*Carry Handle
*Outer Barrel
*Front Site
*Black (original) Flashider
*RIS Pannels
*Magazine
*Sling Mounts
*Dust Cover
As far as performance goes, it's basically the same as the TM M4A1, (stock that is). I took the weapon down to my basement CQB "Kill House" shooting range and began to set up soda cans in their proper areas. Then I loaded the mag, rammed it home into the reciever, and started "the hunt." For an assault rifle, it has the ability to manuver extremely wellthrough tight or cluttered spaces without restrictions. It's easy to handle but a tad bit front heaver, with a sling it doesn'tmatter that much though. It's accurate, not as accurate as my MP5 A5 HG (different gun, different review, I have a review on that too for those who are interested), but it gets the job done quite nicely. I love this gun and with the upgrade and accesory options available for this weapon, it is great for begginers and veterans of airsoft alike. All in all, I would rate this gun 5 stars out of 5 and would recomend it to anyone out there. It's got the range needed to take out people a little way off, the power to let them no that I'm knocking on their door, and the manuverability to allow for sneaky ops and surprise attacks, though anyone who is dumb enough to go up against the M4A1 RIS in the hands of a skilled operator isn't too pleased with these perks. I am extremely glad that I have had the change to toy around with this gun.
Other Points:
The Marui M4A1 RIS comes standard with a version II (2) gearbox and an EG1000 motor. It shoots roughly 265-270 fps stock and comes with a 68 round magazine (standard). It, like all Marui AEG's that I can think of, has hop up, making this a very accurate gun when using appropriate precision bb's
