Episode synopsis: Lazarus
opens with a bank robbery going bad. An FBI agent (Jack Willis), and one
of the bank robbers (James Dupre) are shot. At the hospital both clinically
die. Willis's body is brought back to life, but it seems with Dupre's soul.
In Born Again
Mulder and Scully investigate a series of deaths of policemen who worked
on a case together years ago. It becomes evident that the spirit of the
cop that was killed by others was reincarnated. Now the spirit of the dead
cop is seeking revenge through the body of a 9 year old girl his spirit
now occupies. After working through the trauma of the pervious life (by
killing two and almost killing a third person) the essence leaves the 9
year old girl and she finally acts like a young girl is expected without
the psychological trauma caused by the pervious life.
In The Field
Where I Died, Mulder and a woman from a cult experience memories from
past lives of lives during Civil War. During a past life regesssion session
Mulder is led to belive that he, Samantha (Mulder's sister), Scully, and
even the cigarette smoking man are all destined to play out many lifetimes
together.
The Truth:: Reincarnation
is a facet of many of the world's religions. Buddhism in fact teaches that
the process of reincarnation is a learning cycle. During each life we live
we bring our soul closer to enlightenment and at that point the soul breaks
the cycle of reincarnation.
Quite often
is the case that when people do remember past lives it is a life that in
some was was quite traumatic such as war.
Perhaps the
most well known American writter about reincarnation is Edgar Cayce. Cayce
was a psycic who had readings, as they were called, about topics including
reincarnation, medine, akashic record, prophecy, and ESP. Cayce tought
that the soul chooses the enviornment and circumstances it is born into
which will best allow it to learn the lessons it needs to be complete.
