2004 Workshop
Burlington Figure Skating Club

Roselle gave a workshop on January 18, 2004 for the Burlington Skating Centre in Ontario, which has seen the likes of Anne Shelter and Lori Nichol as past guest instructors.

She headed the three-hour seminar by herself, with a total of 20 girls, split into two groups. For the first two hours, Roselle worked on improvisation techniques to music, with an emphasis on projection of movement at all different levels.

There was also some theatrical group work, where the skaters were given a chosen theme and musical piece. They then had to create costumes for themselves from pieces of material and masks that would tie in with their theme. Their task was to work as a group and create a number together, which they were to present at the end to the rest of the group.

For the second hour, all 20 skaters were on the ice, and Roselle taught her specialty moves, such as the donut spin, a variation of the bielman spin, hydro-gliding, backwards leans, spirals and field moves.

Roselle was very impressed with the enthusiasm and creativity that came out of these girls...they all worked hard and were a tremendous pleasure to teach!
