Volunteers

The RSPCA is a non-government, community based charity which depends almost solely on donations and support from the public to continue its valuable work.

Cash Donations
Donations made to the Port lincoln Animal Shelter will assist the operation of the shelter, support the work of the Inspectorate, provide community education on animal welfare issues and help the RSPCA to bring about improvements in animal welfare legislation. Most importantly donations help us to look after the daily needs of the animals in our care.

If you wish to donate to the Port Lincoln Animal Shelter please send a cheque or money order, made payable to:

RSPCA SA (Inc) Port Lincoln Branch
PO Box 2566,
Port Lincoln SA 5606

All donations over $2 are tax deductible

Many shops around Port lincoln also have Wombat collection boxes on their counters for collecting your spare change after a transaction. Every five cents does help.

Food and Bedding Donations
The Shelter is always appreciative of donations of old towels and blankets to use as bedding.  Any good quality pet food is also welcomed.

Goods may be dropped off at the Shelter or there is a bin for food at Coles Supermarket on Liverpool St. There is also a bin at the Westpac Bank, 46 Liverpool St where bedding and food can be left as well.

RSPCA Merchandise
The RSPCA has a range of pet products and gift lines available. The Shelter stocks a selection of goods and any catalogue lines may be ordered through the Shelter. All proceeds from sales through the Shelter stay in Port Lincoln to benefit the animals of the Shelter.

Membership
A strong membership base is vital to the RSPCA to help implement change to both animal welfare laws and community attitudes towards animals. Members receive a regular copy of the RSPCA Journal, keeping you up to date with what is happening in the organisation and the latest news in animal welfare issues. You can also participate in the running of the Port Lincoln Animal Shelter by joining the Port Lincoln Branch Shelter Committee

Volunteers
Some are needed occasionally, others permanently and some on a 'Help, come quick, we need you right away!!' basis. We would be very pleased to hear from you if you would like to lend a hand.

Badge Days:   The Society has an annual Badge Day in September of each year and people willing to sell badges are always needed.

Raffles:   Sellers and purchasers are always needed for our raffles. We run a Christmas raffle as well as several smaller ones during the year.

Fundraising Support Group:   We are in need of people who are willing to put time and effort into various events, outside of normal working hours.

Cake Stalls:   We are in need of people who are able to donate homemade baked goods for the cake stalls we hold throughout the year.

Gardening:   If you enjoy gardening, the Shelter's grounds need you!

Cocktail Party:   We hold a Cocktail Party each year as our major fund raiser. This is now one of the highlights of the year and a very popular function. Organise a group of your friends and come and enjoy yourselves at a wonderful evening and help us raise some money at the same time.

Please contact the Shelter for more information and to offer your assistance.
