DATA CONFLICTS

In this argument we want to look at some sample data conflicts from the RS-Beas publications.
There are numerous data conflicts in the publications and we select these as representative
samples.

WAS JESUS CHRIST A MASTER ?

First, let us look at a quote from Sawan Singh where he clearly indicates that Jesus was NOT
a Master:

This is from "The Call of the Great Master"  (1964) Pgs. 63 & 64:

(question to Sawan Singh)
"What is your opinion about Christ ?" asked the missionary.
"My 'opinion' about Christ !  What do you mean by that ?" asked the Great Master.
"About his personality, His religion," the missionary explained.
"He was a great prophet.  His religion has produced some very great men in the world,"
the Great Master commented.
"I mean his status as a religious leader," said the missionary.
"Excuse me," said the Master.  "We should not discuss personalities, much less those of the
leaders of other religions.  It is never useful.  It is much better  to give a higher status to
a religious leader than to injure the feelings of His followers."
"Was he not a Saint, according to your beliefs ?" the missionary asked.
"I would rather be excused.  No good comes out of such discussions.  You should be fair
to me," the Great Master told him.

Now this is not a straight forward "NO", however it is rare to get a straight answer from
these people (Masters) and I believe that any reasonable person would interpret the above
as a "NO" answer.

When we move along to Charan Singh, however, we find him quoting the Bible on numerous
occasions and writing books about the Bible in which he suggests that Jesus WAS a Master.

ARE THE NUMBER OF SOULS IN THE CREATION FINITE OR INFINITE ?

Let's start with the book "The Master Answers" by Charan Singh (1966).  On pages
330 & 331 we find:

Q. 338.  Are new souls being created all the time ?
A.  No.

Q. 339.  Were all the souls created at one time ?
A.  That is right, at the time of creation.

Q.  The time of creation ?   There are only just so many souls ?
      An undefineable fixed number ?
A.  Yes.

Now let's move along to Sawan  Singh from "With the Three Masters - Vol. II" (1967)
page 69:

"Since the creation is infinite,  this one-ninth part is also infinite, and some of these souls
will always be in this world to be taken back.

So, you can have it either way you want:  Finite (quote Charan Singh) or Infinite
(quote Sawan Singh).

SHOULD MARRIED COUPLES STAY TOGETHER FOR LIFE OR SPLIT UP ?

We will begin with Charan Singh who clearly felt that couples should NOT divorce
even if they had serious problems but should work things out and stay together.
Many questions in his books and audio tapes reflect his firm viewpoint on this.

Now, let's consult "Philosophy of the Masters - Vol. III" (1965)  page 239:

"The relationship of man and wife after a certain age, say 40 or 50 years, should be
discontinued.  One should then, while earning his living with his own labor, dedicate his time
to the service of the Lord and His creatures.  All saints and great souls have followed
such a path."  (Question:  Did Charan Singh get divorced at 40-50... NO.   Is Gurinder
Singh planning to dump his wife... Probably not --- so, by definition, does this mean
that they are NOT "saints and great souls" ?)

DISCUSSION

Let's think of the human mind as a computer.  Suppose you fed a computer the following
commands:

1. The following are statements from a perfect Master.  Everything a perfect Master says
is the absolute truth and you must accept ALL of  the following statements as TRUE.

2. Jesus is NOT a Master
3. Jesus IS a Master
4. The number of souls in the universe is INFINITE
5. The number of souls in the universe is FINITE
6. Be faithful to your mate for life.
7. Get divorced at 40 or 50

Well, the computer would probably burn up.  In the case of real people, the effect of this
programming is to just shut down the normal reality testing and other logical parts of the
brain so that they no longer work.  Eventually, your mind is mush and you will accept
anything.  Techniques such as these can be used to explain the robot like behavior of
cult members.  When the time comes for them to drink poison kool-aid or OD on drugs
and wrap up in purple sheets they just do it - they do not think - their minds no longer
process information logically.
