HONEST  LIVING

One of the new books to come out of the Dera since Gurinder Singh came to power is titled
"Honest Living".   Whoever wrote "Honest Living" is not honest enough to give us his name and
so the author is listed as anonymous.

This brings to mind some stories about honesty and RS-Beas.

My friend in England related the following event:  First, let me go over some rules that apply to people in England.  Just because you own land there does not mean that you can use it as you like.
Everything you do must be approved by a local "planning committee".  For example, if you buy
land and build yourself a house but do not get prior approval from the planning committee, the
committee has the power to have your house demolished (you get to keep the land).  That is
how it works there.

Now it seems Gurinder Singh came to town to his center at Hayne Park and reportedly ordered his
followers to build him a meeting hall.  They were all upset when they told him that they were
sorry they could not obey him because the planning committee would not approve the
construction of a meeting hall.  To this Gurinder reportedly replied, "Don't tell them you
are building a meeting hall.  Tell them you are building a storage shed."  Everyone was
reportedly grateful that the master, with his superior wisdom, had found a solution to the
problem so quickly.  Later, my friend said, an even better scheme was dreamed up in
which the meeting hall would be called an "agricultural building" because they learned that
agricultural buildings were exempt from planning committee approval.

You just have to wonder what kind of "doublethink" mindset these people are in.  Here
you have a group of supposed adults who one minute are falsifying reports to a government
agency and the next minute are lauding the great new book "Honest Living".  In a way,
calling their "meeting hall" an "agricultural building" may not be too far from the truth since
their powers of discrimination may well be on the level of potted plants.

It should be noted that, when the shoe is on the other foot, Gurinder reacts much differently.
Our Secretary reported that,  when meeting with Gurinder, he was upset that people were
qualifying for initiation by falsifying the application with respect to their age, etc.  He proclaimed
that these people - even though they received initiation - "were not really initiated".

Clearly he does not like people lying to him but he probably would be quite unhappy
if the planning committee in England realized that they had been lied to and ordered his
meeting hall / storage shed / agricultural building demolished.
